This video was taken in August of 2008. You can see the entrance, the dome that housed the Abominable Snowman ride, and the remaining parts of the Log Flume ride.
So sad to see it looking like that. I went by it the last time I was in Panama City and to see it gone is just depressing. Looked forward to going to Miracle Strip and Shipwreck Island every summer when I was a kid.
I have always been a fan of amusement parks. I help score films with my brother and am looking forward to the day when we can set some music to visuals of deserted parks. Good posting.
I spent my summers with my family in PCB, thru the 70s and 80s. All I ever looked forward to, besides lying out in the sun with my mom, was going to MSAP every fri and sat nite!! I am soooo sad to see that is is gone. Watching the videos, past and present has not only brought back a flood of memories, but made me cry. Very intense bitter/sweet memories. Cant wait to go back and visit!!!!
I can remember going to the Miracle Strip back in the late 1970's and into the 80's (I live in south FL). This is just another reminder of how temporary life is. Although we tend to think of things in our lives as being *forever*, it really isn't. Anything at any time can be taken away or otherwise disappear for a multitude of reasons. I guess that's why we should all try and have fun and live LIFE as best we can because you just never know when something is going to end for good :( Peace to all
So sad. Had many great times there. Definitely the best family orientated entertainment that has ever been in PCB and let us not forget Petticoat Junction. 🚧
it really breaks my heart that mircale strip is no longer around. i loved riding the o2 tower, roller coaster, abominable snowman, the log ride and the ride thru haunted house. the arcade they had was one of the few arcades i knew of that had the original pac-man. i went twice during their last year. i was going to go one last time and take some pics, but i left to head out there and i was groggy and did not want to fall asleep behind the wheel. now i wish i would have went anyways. oh well.
It's being re-opened in 2015. Some of the classic rides, along with the Starliner were bought and being moved to a location, about five miles down the road. Some of the current rides are running at Pier Park shopping center. I made a video, of the current Pier Park location and posted it on TH-cam.
I saw this last yr. on my first vacation with my fiance and his family. Him and his family couldn't even look at it. It just makes them sick and sad. :(
I can't believe their was a Park there .I saw it and was wondering Wht it used to be.I don't remember it when I was a teenager .I was coming to The beach and didn't really think about going there .I've been to shipwreck and Alvin Island .Wish I would of went , are knew about it at least .
I went to Panama last summer and was driving to Pier Park or something. I saw a like a doll stand sign I saw a glimpse of it because it was now covered up by trees probably grown there on purpose.
Its aat Pier Park now good i missed it the funnest but now i guess we can go 2 Alabama Adventure and Six Flags in Georgia and of course Alabama and more.

scottieman2 I was at shipwreck today, and you can't even see any leftover rides from Merical Strip, they had abandoned rides ad you can see, but now they're all gone.

I remember going there in 1979.. I was 9 years old. Also, the Zoom Flume, and Petticoat Junction Amusement Park. Not many people remember that park.

This is really sad! I went there many times when I was a teenager.. Loved the Haunted House and the buzzer/blower on the stairs when you left! RIP MS!
