  • You either have it or you don't, and David Jefferies certainly had more than his fair share of it. His abundant racing talent was rewarded with a trophy cabinet any sportsman would be proud of and a host of records that secure DJ a place in racing history and the hearts of thousands.

DJ had become synonymous with the Isle of Man TT, holding the lap records and overall race records for the Formula 1, Senior and Production classes. He became the first rider to lap the Isle of Man TT course at 125mph, 126mph and 127mph, to complete a sub 18-minute lap and the only rider in TT history to have treble wins in 3 consecutive years. He left his mark on the British Superstock Championship, winning it in 2000 and 2002, the Scarborough Gold Cup, winning it a record 5 times, and enjoyed victories in the Ulster Grand Prix, World Superstock and many other international racing events throughout his illustrious career.
The David Jefferies Story is a reminder of the much loved and much missed Yorkshireman. It covers the remarkable rides and records throughout his career and features interviews with family and friends. Wherever he raced, DJ wowed the crowds and riders with his blistering pace and ever quicker times. These fantastic moments of Jefferies' career are recorded here for you to celebrate and enjoy the life of a racing legend.

Great video about a fantastic motorcycle racer. David Jefferies on bike video was what made me become addicted to the Isle of Mann TT. I had never seen someone ride so fast, so smooth. I still can't believe he's gone. Rest In Peace, Legend.

Not a TT goes by where I don't think of him. In '03, we were at Rhencullen when practice was flagged. I was gutted when I found out hours later what had happened.

@@ryanbarratt837 Our group was wondering why no riders had come thru, but was next to a marshal who said there was an incident at Glen Vine- turned out it was in Crosby. Had no idea who was even involved til much later.

@@freefallin6871 yea very sad, I've been reminded by someone recently that apparently there was oil down and David hit it and obviously was off :( not sure if that is true though. Family in the iom just said he was trying to go fasted and was pushing the limits and caught a wall and bits of bike and himself was all scattered over house and garage roofs, absolutely terrible
