@Tay-Yen better conductivity. Cleaner spot welds. Weld through primer is applied over the bare metal. When welded, the heat will liquify the primer galvanizing the weld with corrosion protection
Here, I show my settings on the welder I use. Every welder is going to be different, so it's difficult to answer th-cam.com/video/cm-93kOha2o/w-d-xo.html
@@AUTOBODYTECH oh, thanks, that is so nice of you! I suppose I should rephrase my question: when or how did you know that the tack welds are correct? Higher voltage or amperage is easy - the weld burns through and melts the surrounding metal - but how about amperage and voltage too low, what happens then?
@AnnatarTheMaia it wouldn't be hot enough to fuse the metal and would act as if it were just sitting on top instead The best thing you can do is test the welds on the same thickness spare sheet of metal and check the backside for penetration. You would see a tiny bump.
What is that thing on your airline? Is that something for easy attachments of air tools? Sometimes it’s hard to put on my tools because the end is old and get stuck.
Great work young man!
Thanks!
That was very informative and well presented.
Your video editing skills are great too.
Thanks! Always learning
🔥💯🔥
great job man
@@EnayatAyazi thanks!
What grit do you use on your belt sander for spot weld removal?
I use mirka 50 grit
❤❤❤
👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Do you have a video on cab corners for trucks?

Why did you belt sand the inside of the replacement panel?

@AUTOBODYTECH Usually, I don't. I prefer keeping it oem, but I see why it keeps blowing up when I use the spot welder, especially under the sill
@@Tay-Yen it's possible that's why that happens to you. Give this a try and see if anything changes
How do you know which temperature / amperage to set the welder to, to weld the butt joints?

@@AUTOBODYTECH thank you for that tip. You taught me something new today, and for that, I am grateful.
@@AnnatarTheMaia you're welcome! That's what this channel is for
What kind of saw are you using to get the straight even cuts
It's an astro pneumatic saw
So you do everything from start to finish at your job?
Just body and assembly, not prep or paint
What grit belt do you use to buzz thru the spot welds? Thanks for your time!
50 grit Mirka belt@@kevinhintz1903

Yup exactly it has a plastic housing
