Oh my goodness thank you for sharing this. They definitely don’t start with the most intense exposure. It’s like physical therapy. They’re going to introduce your fears in manageable doses, so you’ll get stronger and more resilient as you follow your mental health workout plan. So they would start you off on something like 2lb weights and after a week or so they’ll increase the weight to 3lb weights, so on and so forth. Does this metaphor make sense? Exposure therapy is the same, they won’t throw you in the deep end right off the bat, you’ll work your way to that point:)
