One of my favorite parts of Forgotten Land's release was how it was pulling in newcomers to the franchise who had no idea that Kirby games commonly end with slaying eldritch abominations threatening to consume the galaxy.

I hope Emily enjoys the game! Forgotten Land is one of the series' most amazing entries, and one of the best games of last year easily.

The actual hard part to assess is the songs several pre-transition points for Phase 2 (It's literally written to where there's multiple points for Phase 2 to begin with a smooth as possible transition)
Dedede is pronounced as ddd. He's kirby's rival, and a penguin.
I learned this the hard way when I saw my fiancé afterwards and he laughed at my pronunciation 😂

@@DiaomBayet "Dae Dae Dae" is the correct reading in several languages, including the original Japanese, and was more than likely the intended reading in English as well (considering the "Dee" in "Waddle Dee" is deliberately spelled different) - until the dub of the anime happened.

Kirby music goes SO HARD, you should TOTALLY listen to more songs from Kirby. I HIGHLY recommend that you listen to the themes of some of the Final Boss fights like "Two Planets Approach the Roche Limit" (from Forgotten Land), "C-R-O-W-N-E-D" (from Return to Dreamland), "Moonstruck Blossom" (from Triple Deluxe), "VS. Star Dream" (from Planet Robobot), and the full suite "The Star Conquering Traveler" (from Star Allies), which is my favorite in the series (even if it is a bit long). Either "Factory Inspection" (from The Crystal Shards) or "Burning Churning Power Plant" (from Forgotten Land) are also really good.

Sword of the Surviving Guardian gives me chills EVERY SINGLE TIME
The song is a remix of a classic Kirby Super Star theme -- My friends and the Setting Sun.
The melody isn't exactly the same as the original, but you can obviously tell it's a variation on it. And then building up to the end, you have it build up and up and up and up and up. And then FINALLY it hits that point where most of the instruments cut out and they play the original melody, unaltered. And man the pay-off is so incredibly good that it literally made me choke up the first few times I heard it.

A trip to the Kirby Wiki tells me that Welcome to the New World's lyrics were written in Japanese originally, but the song itself is sung in the game's made-up language. But it looks like it's phonetically based off Japanese, so it sounds very similar (it's basically Japanese gibberish that's arranged to look like a totally different language)
So kinda like Splatoon? That's neat!
God, I forgot how absolutely amazing the Kirby and The Forgotten Land OST was. It is just filled with bangers. Taking advantage of the cutesy first impression it gives and then surprising you with something crazy is Kirby's specialty after all.
Also as I commented on the Undertale video, my OST recommendation is Pizza Tower, which is not as cutesy but definitely takes people by surprise.
Potentially my favorite OST of the decade so far. Paper Mario: The Origami King rivals it, but man, every song in this game NEVER gets old

Addition: Dedede's voice actor is Shinya Kumazaki who is literally the director of the Kirby series.
The Invincible Candy is an item that has appeared in most (if not all) main line Kirby games so this tune is somewhat iconic among fans.

About Morpho Knight lore, it is actually the god of judgement in the Kirby universe. It decides your fate after you die. Not to be confused with the god of death, which is Necrodeus.
Also me knowing Emily would love Sword of the Surviving Guardian and mentioning NOTHING because i wanted her to be completely blind

Kirby OST always goes insane. Its got the most lovely and catchy tunes then you reach the bosses and your hit with the most insane hype tracks

Kirby music is almost always top-tier lol. Kirby's Return To Dreamland and Kirby Star Allies also have good osts.
Northeast Frost Street is one of the BEST songs in the entire franchise and I will DIE on that hill, TOP 5 in a series known for it's banger soundtracks.
Kirby soundtracks are always amazing, and also full of remixes so it feels great as an older player too! My favorite Kirby OST overall is the whole "Canvas Curse" one from the DS because it's just so bizarre. But you would definitely enjoy listening to other Kirby sountracks, like for example "Mountains in an Angry Sky" pops in my head regularly lol

The way I always describe the _Kirby_ series is that it's _cozy._ It's like the video game equivalent of a big fleecy blanket that's just come out of the dryer, and right as you're bundling yourself up in it in your favorite armchair with a cup of cocoa, a happy kitten hops into your lap and purrs itself to sleep.
You _cannot_ stay in a gloomy mood while playing a _Kirby_ game. I should know, I've *_tried._*
Two Planets approach the Roche limit is goated, shame you didn’t have time to listen to it…literally one of the most impressively composed songs in videogames I’ve heard
Now it's time to react to all the rest of the kirby games, maybe make it top 12, I wouldn't want something like "Two Planets Approach the Roche Limit" slip away again.
I humbly ask that you react to more themes from the Kirby series, such as "C.R.O.W.N.E.D" from Return to Dreamland Deluxe, "Mind in a Program" from Planet Robobot, "Moonstruck Blossom" from Triple Deluxe, and the "Sparkling Star" from Star Allies
13:15 Context: boss theme of a recurring rival. It is quite possibly the heaviest version of this theme, too. Dedede is the final boss of the very first Kirby game, Kirby's Dreamland, and has been showing up repeatedly for boss fights ever since. He's kind of a frenemy at this point, with an on-and-off grudge as seen in previous games.
Basically, Kirby is about a Pink eldritch god, Killing other Multiversal threat level Entitys over a Cake (im not even joking)
I also haven't played Kirby before, so I was doing a react-along! The Morpho Knight theme is my favourite of this bunch, with Roar of Dedede being second!
I humbly ask you react to even more Kirby music. Especially Final Boss themes and themes for Dedede. Kirby has thing for Leitmotifs. A LOT OF LEITMOTIFS.

This same theme plays on he’s rematch has “forgo dedede” before he goes even more feral and “Wild Masked Bad DDD” and then sacrifices himself fighting a army to give Kirby some time to fight the king of the beasts, then a eldritch horror and then the ultimate life form
Dedede survives and just sleeps meanwhile kirby goes to fight evil phantom clones and the grim reaper
For context, Morpho Knight is basically the Grim Reaper of the Kirby universe.

No, it was a cover of Meta Knight’s Revenge that won a Grammy. Sword of the Surviving Guardian is largely based on My Friend and the Setting Sun, another song that is associated with Meta Knight as it is the song that plays after you beat him in Superstar.
My favorite Kirby OST is the one in Star Allies, because not only does the game you typical cheery Kirby songs the very much takes in instruments serious like well orchestrated music a lot, and top of that there is so much original music from pass games.
I'd love to see you react to more Kirby music! ...Also I can't believe Two Planets Approach the Roche Limit wasn't on the list if you chose based on people's top songs

It has some of the best music I’ve heard, such as “Reaper of the Old Bailey” and “Samurai with a Mission” not to mention “The Link Between Science and Magic” all of which are amazing.

If I had to recommend another song to listen to, I’d heavily recommend Decisive Battle Ultimate Z
It gets so overshadowed by other boss themes in the game but it’s probably my personal favorite!
Kirby deep lore is an INSANE rabbit hole to go down and makes Morpho Knight even cooler while simultaneously ruining the cutesy vibe of much of the world lol.
kirby's a fun series. cute n simple on the surface, complex and introspective beneath. its crazy how well both ideas mix so seamlessly. won't provide spoilers of course, but the climatic fights of the games are just simply insane, in every sense of the word. i'm very happy you've begun playing forgotten land, i've been trying to figure out if its dethroning my previous favorite game, kirby planet robobot, ever since BEFORE it came out-it's *that* good

SPOILERS:
Morpho Knight's original form is based on an orange butterfly that has appeared in EVERY opening of the Kirby games. But it was only acknowledged in Star Allies in 2017. Where one of the strongest warriors in the galaxy, Galacta Knight is preparing himself to fight Kirby and his friends in a 4v1 boss fight. In the lore, Galacta Knight has taken down planets to the point where he was sealed away. But as Galacta Knight is about to fight Kirby, the orange butterfly appears and takes Galacta Knight's life and sort of using his appearance as a base to create Morpho Knight where it's one of the toughest boss fights in Kirby history. But this was mainly an update to the game added through DLC which fans didn't think seemed "canon worthy". But then Forgotten Land released and made Morpho Knight canon to the Kirby story lore making it more serious.
Seriously Kirby fans can fight gods with a pink marshmallow on a tuesday and be perfectly fine and stable, but the moment a butterfly appears we lose it.

I also had never played Kirby, then I played Kirby and the forgotten land, it is one of the best games I have ever played (Coming from dude who normally play FPS games and strategic war games). Cool you are playing it.

I would suggest the star conquering traveler suite, which is a five piece boss fight composition.
The invincibility theme first made its appearance in the very first Kirby game Kirby’s Dream Land on the gameboy and has been remixed in almost every Kirby game
Who is Morpho Knight?
Basically a butterfly that consumed the soul of the final boss and transformed into........ well, it still has butterfly wings....... and its' body is round....... other than that the appearance of the butterfly on screen is something that sends Kirby players in a panic on a regular basis.
Who is Dedede?
King Dedede is a penguin in the final boss of the first Kirby game. His evil plan was....... to hoard food.......
After being defeated he became he "friend" of Kirby and appeard in nearly every game, where he is usually taken over and possessed by the villain.
The Dedede fights are among the best of each game and the theme you are hearing is always a variation of that first final boss theme.
Kirby is “what if an unknowable and insurmountable cosmic horror liked naps, candy, and friendship?”

The *best* thing about Kirby is that he looks like That and the games look like That and the tone feels like That. And then at the end of the day this cute little pink ball of squish annihilates elder gods and nightmare kings without breaking a sweat. I love Kirby
You should react to Shadow Fight 2 ost. It has one of the best soundtracks for a mobile game. There is so much good music in that game and here are some of my favorites: Old sensei, Burning town, Ship Battle, Sparring, Titan epic fight, Underworld demon (also known as volcano), Lord of the lies, Starship, Spaceship, halls of the dead heroes, heavenly clouds, fat boss.
Hey don't forget Stone grove and lesson in the dark room! And also I think it is clouds heaven not heavenly clouds.

I mean, I looked for the Japanese lyrics in Romaji and they sound similar but not entirely the same. Also considering the fact that in the game, they have their own Alphabet. So yeah.
