There are two constants for Kirby antagonists Either he beats you up for an hour and you become his friend or he destroys you so hard that sometimes your soul no longer exists or you are literally evaporated from the universe
The best thing about Kirby lore is just how consistent it is The latest game just established some extremely specific rules for how teleportation works in the kirby universe and looking back, every single enemy in the series follows them And also meta knight... Is meta knight's cape an ancient relic as well?
Can you elaborate on how every enemy uses it? Like I am pretty sure you are referring to either Forgotten Land or some extra lore from Dreamland Returns Deluxe.. but.. I do not remember stuff about teleportation.. only like.. universe travel or whatever
@@BaconNuke they said that portals can only be opened by fect elfilis and ancient technology using its powers, and looking back every enemy that uses portals had those
Exactly! Now we know (almost without a doubt) that every single star shaped portal created by ancient technology derives from Fecto Elfilis, including the master crown which I think is really cool in conjunction with all its other similarities. And how Hyness and Parallel Nightmare DON'T use star shaped portals and instead used regular circular portals. It's the little details that make me so happy about this franchise.
So to explain the Susie thing in Star Allies: it’s a translation error. In the original version (Japanese) her description says that she uses her father’s company to help people, rather than mechanize planets. RPGMonger learned his lesson and in his sequel video about more recent games, he primarily used the Japanese versions.
@@liasoid3073 yeah. in the end I thin its suppsoed to be ambiguous whether she's still evil or randoly turned good for no reason (seriously, she didn't seem to be secretly good and even seemed to be totally onboard with haltmann's villainy aside from being personaly slighted)
"So is Kirby just like a god?" Man the amount of fan content I've seen that basically makes fun of this point. I think it's pretty much agreed that's the case.
He's actually made a follow up video to correct things lost in translation and things added up to Forgotten Land. Then Return to Dreamland Deluxe revealed that the AUs actually *are* canon, as the Magolor you met in RtD and the one from Kirby Fighters Deluxe and Super Kirby Fighters are revealed to be the exact same one.
@@reggielacey2235 I myself did know that Clash was a canon AU, but given said info used to be given on a Miiverse post I wouldn't exactly blame anyone for not knowing the AUs were supposed to be canon. Especially because judging by reactions to that fight in Forgotten Land, people were assuming that that one in particular had *become* canon instead of always being part of an official AU, especially because they can travel between dimensions according to the JP text.
16:22 Long story short, he got sent to purgatory and had to regain his powers to destroy the master crown once and for all 27:23 A mistake in translation, she doesn't follow her father's steps, instead she seeks to help other planets, not mechanize them
I think my favorite aspect of all this lore is that it ultimately does not affect Kirby or gameplay all that much. There may be a universe ending force of pure darkness corrupting the minds of countless people, but Kirby barely cares or even understands the deeper aspects of what's going on. As far as he's concerned, it's just another big baddy that's hurting his friends and getting in the way of naptime that needs to be stopped.
Welcome to the deep and terrifying part of Kirby! It really is great that there’s a wholesome Kirby game to play after you scar you mind learning the lore isn’t it 😊
I recommend you also watch RPG Monger's follow-up to this video (Attempting to Explain More Kirby Lore in a Single Video), as it explains the lore of more games that have come out since then.
The reason why kirby lore works is because he actually has no idea that any of it is happening, he just sees someone being mean to his friends and stops them. Also there is MUCH more since this video was made that has happened.
12:49 That's actually pretty normal for Kirby. A lot of the games start out with seemingly low stakes, only to turn into eldritsh horror at the 11th hour
I’m glad you got to experience the craziness of Kirby lore! To clarify some of your questions: 6:55 Dark Matter left Ripple Star because Miracle Matter was defeated. Beat the boss, send the Dark Matter away. Also Ripple Star is not an Earth surrogate. Shiver Star is the closest to one we got (in the same game too!). 12:38 Yes, in a way! Paint is indeed involved. Moreso everything is transmutated into paint! 13:34 …jury’s still out on that one. 25:04 Haltmann Company took Dark Matter and Dreamstalk DNA to create the clones. 27:22 That was a translation error. Star Allies had a notoriously bad English localization. She’s a much better person now. 33:08 This is just a theory. While the implication is there, there is plenty of evidence to debunk it. A cut art piece from the game shows what happened to Void, Meta Knight is basically a Kirby, Kirby isn’t a 100% positive being, and the reason why Void looked like Kirby could be because Kirby was nearby and influenced Void, not because Void is Kirby. The theory is contentious and will remain as such until a game comes out to clarify things.
Kirby on the surface: Cute, wholesome, dreamy world with silly things such as food-orientated names for places or rtrees with faces or stars which let you fly Kirby under the surface with lore: Eyes, Eyes, everywhere eyes, dark, eldritch and body horror, angels with wings of blood, a pink ball of unlimited god-like power, possesion, insanity, butterflies who are the judges of an after life, galacta knight who appears constantly in alternative non-canon worlds but seems to try to reach the canon unvierse, gods, an unholy amount of text and lore,
I never realized until now just how bizarre the lore of kirby is until seeing your reaction to it all. I guess i have gotten so use to it, nothing in Kirby bothers me anymore
It’s really interesting a VERY big Kirby fan to see a non-fans perspective on lore and series. I grew up with it, have an intense interest in it to this day. Hope you have a good day!
Fun fact: Galacta Knight, the badass you liked, actually had his first canon appearence in Super Kirby Clash! It was retconned into being canon after Return to Dreamland Deluxe.
So The RPG Monger released another Kirby Lore video “Attempting to explain more Kirby Lore” that covers stuff from newer games and also offers corrections on stuff that he got wrong or missed in this video. It would be great to see you watch that too!
I just want to mention, as I am not sure if it's mentioned fully in the video or not, Void Termina is canonically stated in the menu screens that he is the God of Death, and Kirby is another version of Void except reincarnated (Probably, I saw theories that Void just copies the state of whatever releases it wants to be, such as Hyness wishing it is the key to all Dark Matter. I personally don't believe it though, but idk.). Anyways, that means Kirby is (Most likely) the reincarnation of a literal god. Just thought I should say that.
Green Greens has always been the most iconic song in all of Kirby, in every game we hear a new version or another arrangement of it, so we associate it with the pink ball. Astral birth is in the hard mode of star alies it is a white version of void. It is during this fight, when we lower the boss bar to half that a piano begins to be heard, a very sad version of Green Greens, and thus we remember that at this moment we are not only fighting a great evil, we are fighting an unfortunate entity, instead of love they gave him hate, instead of friendship he found coldness. and it is at the end in his defeat that he smiles as he disappears. Rest in peace Void, let's hope that in your next birth you will be happy.
Since everyone's talking about the translation error regarding Susie in Star Allies, I'm instead going to answer your other question about how Magolor survived being taken over by the Master Crown. Believe it or not, this was only recently answered in the new remake of Return to Dreamland. Basically he, much like young Susie, also ends up being warped into another dimension, being stripped of his powers in the process and forced to slowly build them back up if he wants to survive. While there, he ends up confronting the remnant shards of the Master Crown, and upon their defeat, he's able to leave that dimension. Weirdly enough though, he ends up in Team Kirby Clash, a Kirby spinoff game that plays kinda like an rpg-styled boss rush. Not quite sure how he ends up back in the main story’s universe by the time of Star Allies, but maybe that'll be answered eventually.
kirby wasn't intentionally trying t summon a nightmare demon. you see dedede stole a thing that powers a thing that gives everyone dreams and everyone was being plagued by bad dreams, with kirby assuming this happened cause of dedede stealing the thing. However, Dedede that to keep the nghtmare demon sealed in the dream fountain, which was the actual cause behind the bad dreams. However, kirby, nt knowing this, puts the thing back in the fountain and free Nigthtmare. Kirby then kills Nightmare and stops his evil rampage.
With Susie rebuilding her father's company, that was actually a mistranslation, a problem that permeates throughout Star Allies and messes up a good bit of lore. The RPG Monger made a follow-up video (based on the new release) that addresses that. From what I remember Susie takes over the company and works to either _reverse_ her father actions by demechanising the planets, or simply reverting to a simple robotics company and creating machines to aid other people.
In defense of kirby releasing the nightmare demon: He just though Dedede was being a dick again, he was unaware that there was a demon in the fountain.
Remember this was before Forgotten Land came out. He has a follow up for when it did come out called "Attempting to explain more kirby lore in a single video"
Noting like mass genocide, the achenial possession ,near universel ending threats, and eldridge cosmic horror in a kids game like kirby yeahhh the cuteness is just a cover front for the actual nightmares
That thing with Susie. As far as I know this is a translation error(which apparently happened multiple times in Kirby games especially Star Allies). I think she stopped the company to mechanize other planents and instead tries to bring family harmony and happy lives instead.
Saw this in my recommended and just say "Heyyyyyy finally!" Very excited to see another semi-innocent soul learn about the lore of the pink puffball :) Edit: Yeahp, about the reactions I expected. There's a part 2, you should also watch that!
I love these games. The gameplay is fun, can be challenging, it's a cute world, but also it has dark stories and epic lore. Definitely a step up from just Mario saving peach from bowser over and over again in my opinion. Some people prefer the simplicity of Mario. Kirby is simple but can be complex depending how far you'll play through the game.
fun fact: there’s an alternate dimension in kirby called “Another Dimension”, and from what i can gather it’s basically either a space between dimensions or an actual dimension in itself. and it is *messed up*.
There's a follow up video that they made after the most recent non-remake kirby game, which covers all the new stuff it added! It also explains some stuff that was off in this one
I recommend at least playing one Kirby game afterwards! The games aren't hard (unless you attempt the arenas) and you don't really need to worry TOO much about the lore to enjoy them, and you can get a general grasp on how Kirby games' stories progress! (Usually follows as such: Kirby having a good day just enjoying himself -> Something disturbs the peace -> Kirby forced to deal with the threat -> Kirby kills the eldritch horror at the end of the game) I HIGHLY recommend Kirby's Return to Dreamland Deluxe, since it's a remake of the Kirby game on the Wii that introduces a LOT of people into the franchise (which is me, I'm biased lol). Either that or Kirby Super Star Ultra, since it's a lot Kirby fan's favorite one!
There’s a sequel to this video called “Attempting to Explain More Kirby Lore” which goes over all the new lore introduced in Kirby and the Forgotten Land, as well as correcting the translation errors in Star Allies pause screen info. I would recommend it 👍
Welcome to the Kirby lore where we have an unhealthy amount of lore about eyes, eldricht creatures, a butterfly (who reached the canon universe), christanity references, gods, eyes, eye balls, alternative non-canon timelines and universes, positive and negative energy/vibes, eyes and more stuff which can short-circuit one's brain. What a fun. And if a new games come out, prepare to order the entire lore and add even more stuff on the pile while mostly changing a lot of things in the process. Let's just hope Kirby never gets a game about actual time travel and timeline shenanigans otherwise some people become brain dead.
Forgotten Land also goes pretty hard near the end and I still dont fully understand what the hell happened there but the final boss was cool so whatever lol
For some reason, F-86 (Fecto Elfilis) was a destroyer of planets, and strolled upon the New World. Its inhabitants captured it and studied it to learn how to make warping technology so they could escape Fecto Elfilis. At some point, Elfilis split itself into Elfilis and Elfilin, and plotted to escape its capture by mind-controlling the animals on the New World. After Leon’s defeat (which was garnered by the animals stealing Elfilin), Elfilis got impatient, broke out of its cage, absorbed Leon and a good amount of the Beast Pack, and became Fecto Forgo. Fecto Forgo succeeded in absorbing Elfilin, making Fecto Elfilis. This form lasts until Kirby uses Dome Mouth mode to extract Elfilin. Elfilis is falling apart and wishes to destroy the New World and summons Pop Star to crash onto the New World. But as Elfilis’s form is weakening, Kirby takes a truck, drives across falling buildings from Pop Star’s New World’s fallout, and rams it into Elfilis while being empowered by Elfilin, and Elfilis’s physical form is gone. This also may indicate that the particularly nonsensical world Kirby lives in is just a dream world of Elfilis.
As a person who just plays Kirby without keeping track of the lore, this is honestly wild. Also, didn’t even get up to the most recent game where Kirby defeats a lovecraftian god level creature by absorbing a truck and then hitting said creature in the face with the truck. A truly spectacular moment in Kirby history.
Mario, Kirby, and Smash Bros are all separste universes, completely unrelated to each other. Kirby has some references to Smash Bros and Mario, but they're more like fun nods and cameos than anything actually linking their universes together. The most recent new game shows us where the ancients originated from, and has a lot of interesting implications about many things we've seen across the series. The recent Return to Dream Land remake has a bonus mode that shows how Magolor survived after he was defeated, which is all sorts of crazy.
Oh man, if you thought what happened in Return to Dreamland was crazy, just wait til you see what happened in the remake. It explains how Magolor survived, but he also had to fight what was essentially a biblically accurate tree (courtesy of the Master Crown's fragments). The jukebox also features a dedicated track titled "Free...Me...Kirby...", which is a distorted scream from the True Arena version of Magolor Soul, so, there's that.
Yes Kirby is a being that has the ability to copy anyone’s powers and has the ability to take on any power he wishes if he can suck it up, he has hundreds of forms and can even take peoples powers as shown in smash brothers, he is literally infinitely powerful and the funny thing is, is that Kirby is canonly a child, he is a baby and dosnt really know what he’s doing, so if he is this powerful now, think of how much more powerful he will get whenever he grows up
And then, there is Kirby and the Forgotten Land. And then then, there is the Magolor Epilogue from Kirby's Return to Dream Land Deluxe. And then then then, you realise that micro-transactions are cannon in the main series Kirby games.
to note: this video was made before "Kirby and the Forgotten Land" was released, which teaches us more about the Ancients and Morpho Knight and yes RPG Monger has a video about that too.
Mario and Kirby are in separate universes, so dw about that Smash Bros. is merely a crossover event XD (although, there are Smash references in Kirby, due to both franchises being created by the same person, Masahiro Sakurai)
Can Kirby inhale all the eyes? Pac-Man... Also if Kirby inhaled all the eye monstrosity, he would become a bibically accurate angel.. That's kinda how he works. My favourite character in Super Smash Bros and I have a game of him, too bad I payed more attention to Pokemon at a young age, thanks for this video, otherwise I wouldn't have known that Kirby even had lore!
I love watching people react to kirby lore. Kirby is a cute baby or child consuming his enemies, killing them, or befriending them. It makes sense to me how Kirby keeps surviving super smash bros. story modes. Idk if 3ds/wiiU has a story mode. Lesson is to always try to be Kirby's friend without backstabbing him, don't mess with ancient technology for power or wishes, avoid dark matter as much as possible, and don't steal Kirby's cake.
Kirby games start somewhat cute with reasons for Kirby's intervention being either nobility, it affects him specifically or "someone stole my cake, time to commit genocide", but they all end with eldrich horror, Dark Matter, or something that resembles Kirby (except with the first entry where it's basically just kick Dedede in the balls for stealing all food in Dreamland)
Yo Matthew! If you really want a detailed explanation on Kirby lore that goes into the games and how they fit together in the lore, I highly recommend checking out Tspro's video: "The Kirby Lore Explained by an Idiot". It's about an hour long, but it goes through everything in the mainline games.
15:44 Eyes and hands are very predominant in gaming culture, as well as in humanity's culture in general. Many cultures have some sort of all seeing eye or power of the eye. Also the power to create things from mere words and words giving power to beings.
here to give info! theres a part 2 to this. But to simplify the butterfly, one theory is its a creature of pure "chaos" an energy in the kirby world capable of keeping souls alive after someones died, or even entrapping souls.
the second I heard that it was the RPGMonger's vid he was reacting to, I kid you not, I had a MoistCr1tical "WOOO" moment. also RPGMonger did a sequel video including tons more lore from the next game after star allies, kirby and the forgotten land.
There's also Kirby and the forgotten land were Kirby get sucked into Another dimension where it's only similar to earth And there's also the beast pack A bunch of animals are led by Leon Also there is a giant powerful creature that separated In the elfelin and idf 86 Plus IDF86 Can take over Creatures like king DDD But meta Knight can resist its power but elfelin and idf86 Where they were originally a Powerful god like animal, Whenever we meet the game you can go to this special dream world Where are you face off against corrupted Leon and IDF86 Also from that morpho Knight is cannon.
Always hilarious seeing someone realize that Kirby is extremely dark. The whole point of this series is being accessible enough for beginner gamers to get into it, while having enough depth for hardcore gamers to love it. The lore reflects this. You have to search for the darkness in most games, it’s there for those who care about it. But for people who just wanna watch the cute ‘lil guy go, that is absolutely an option.
Fun fact: It was actually the gruesome and bloody nature of Zero's fight that caused Kirby's Dreamland 3's ESRB rating to be changed for K-A (the E of the 90s) to E10+ when it was rereleased on the Switch.
Idk if someone said this yet but with the suzie thing it was a translation error i think, shes not continuing the company to absorb planets and mechanize them, shes a good guy so its just gonna be a robotics company again most likely Also the guy you said was named mark, you misheard his name is Marx, so yea less normal name lol
Fun fact: this is the barest minimumest summary of Kirby lore… which to be fair is like. Half of it. But you can more deeply explain what was presented in this video for a couple hours before getting to stuff that wasn’t covered.
Ah… Kirby lore. When the most wholesome depiction of true friendship in all of media fights against the most pure and horrifying depiction of anger, sorrow and pain in all of media. Rated E for everyone! Also this video was released before the latest Kirby games that added even more lore. It’s possible that The ancients themselves were actually humanity Who used the power of the ultimate lifeform to hop dimensions. And the multiverse exists now because Magolor repented for his sins by killing the tree from the garden of Eden. So that’s fun. If you want to start playing a Kirby game or react to the music, Kirby and the forgotten land is the best place to start
It's always the cute and innocent looking video game icons that have stuff right out of 18+ rated games. (Like, Kirby obviously, but have yall seen some of Sonics stuff???)
He baseball-batted meteors several thousand lightyears away in literal seconds. He hit them so hard they went thousands of times the speed of light. Kirby be scary.
@@onilink134 yeah, that’s the one I was thinking of, but I didn’t quite know how to put it into the right words to convey how ridiculously strong of a feat that is.
There's a chance other people wrote this already, but we've gotten a few more games since that video, so allow me to write a little essay: First, susie's description in star allies is a translation error. She isn't mechanizing planets. Second, we've gotten a remake of return to dreamland, which includes a mode that shows what happened to magolor after kirby defeats him. Basically, after being defeated, magolor gets sucked into another dimension(yeah, that's the name: Another Dimension. Magolor goes there, hyness and the sisters get sucked in there too in star allies, it's where susie was presumably sent to after the accident, etc.). In Another Dimension, magolor, having lost all of his strength, goes to regain it, while collecting pieces of a large crystal apple. After collecting it all, the apple becomes consumed and possessed by the remains of the master crown, transforming into a giant demonic tree - the "Tree Crown Without a Ruler". Magolor defeats it, and a portal opens up. Magolor goes through, taking a seed of the tree along with him. He lands in the dimension of the Kirby Clash series of games, where he serves as a merchant. Finally, we have Kirby and the Forgotten Land. Oh, boy. It was another peaceful day in Dream Land, when a mysterious vortex appears in the sky, sucking in everyone who lives in Dream Land through Another Dimension(the place) and into another dimension(literally). Kirby gets sucked in as well, his body changing a little in the journey. He lands in a mysterious new place, where he finds out he can put objects much larger than him(like cars, for instance) in his mouth to use them for himself(for instance, kirby puts a car in his mouth, he can now drive the car while it's in there. This is called Mouthful Mode.). Kirby sees that his fellow waddle dees are getting captured and sent away by other furry creatures. Only managing to rescue a being named Elfilin, who partners up with Kirby to rescue the waddle dees. Not much happens now. Kirby goes through an abandoned town, a beach, and a theme park, defeating members of the game's antagonists, the Beast Pack, and rescuing waddle dees. Kirby arrives at a snowy town area, where he encounters King Dedede, who seems to have joined the beast pack himself. Kirby defeats him, but dedede gets back up, and kidnaps Elfilin. Kirby goes to rescue his friends, and reaches the final area, a volcano, where he fights the members of the beast pack again, as well as king dedede, who kirby defeats, and frees him from the force controlling him, leaving dedede to keep the beast pack busy while he goes to find Elfilin. Kirby arrives at a place called Lab Discovera, and going up a tour elevator, a voice narrates some backstory: A long time ago, a being known as the ultimate life form, IDF-86, arrives at the world, going on a rampage. The inhabitants just barely manage to capture IDF-86, the being getting split in two, with one half remaining captured, and the other escaping, never to be found, while IDF-86 was put behind glass on display, the inhabitants using its power to travel through space-time. Kirby reaches the top floor, where he encounters the leader of the Beast Pack, Leongar, who explains some more backstory. Apparently, the old civilization who lived there, used the power of IDF-86 to escape the world into "a land of dreams", leaving all of the animals behind, and leaving all of the animals very mad about being abandoned, resulting in the beast pack being formed. The other half of IDF-86 is revealed to be Elfilin, who Leongar intends to fuse with IDF-86 to recomplete the being and restore its full power. Kirby defeats Leongar and rescues Elfilin, but it's not done yet. Leongar is revealed to be possesed by IDF-86, whose true name turns out to be Fecto Forgo. Fecto Forgo used Leon's influence and its own powers to attempt to fuse itself and Elfilin back together, kidnapping the waddle dees from Dream Land so they could be used as a power source. Anyway, Fecto Forgo manages to break out, merging itself with elfilin to fuse back together into the ultimate life form: Fecto Elfilis. Kirby fights it, releasing elfilin in the process. Fecto Forgo, in one last act of desparation, opens a massive portal to planet popstar, intending to make kirby's home world collide with this one to destroy them both. However, kirby uses Mouthful mode on a nearby big rig and runs over Fecto Forgo, defeating it and going through the portal to popstar in the process. Now back in Dream Land, Elfilin is forced to leave kirby in order to use its power to close the portal and prevent the worlds from colliding. Though, that's not for long, as Elfilin then opens up another smaller portal, allowing kirby to reunite with his friends, and that's where the main story ends. However, there's still the postgame. Leon is still missing after the battle, and it turns out he is stuck in a nightmare realm, which Fecto Forgo's memory created and retreated to after its defeat, taking leon along. Kirby goes to rescue Leon, fighting powered up versions of the beast pack created by fecto forg and collecting pieces of Leon's soul in the process. Arriving at the place where leon is, kirby is forced to fight the possesed beast king, and after defeating it, Fecto Forgo's soul leaves Leon's body, intending to fight kirby by itself.... .....before a small, orange butterfly enters the room. It lands on fecto forgo's soul, absorbing its power, and becoming Morpho Knight(we've seen him before in star allies, but that was a what-if mode. Morpho Knight only became canon here.). Kirby fights morpho knight, and defeats him, releasing fecto forgo's soul in the process, which escapes, taking morpho's power along. But it's not over yet! Fecto Forgo takes over the Arena in the game's hub world, using Morpho Knight's power to become Chaos Elfilis. Kirby defeats it, and the last remnant of its soul goes to elfilin, who accepts forgo into his heart, the two halves finally merging for good(don't worry it's a good thing). And here we are! That's all of kirby lore as far as I know. There's some stuff I missed like Aeon Hero, but I don't think it's worth explaining just yet, since we barely know much about them aside from them definitely being galacta knight. Also, I wrote most of this from how I remember the plot, so if I missed anything/got anything wrong, please correct me!
Kirby's Universe is in no way connected to Mario's by the way. The only cross-over is through Smash Bros, which is basically a what-if scenario. All the characters in that are toys or trophies come to life
This is the first video of yours that I see, but I really enjoyed it! I love Kirby so seeing people react to the series is always very fun, and you chose what is probably the best lore recap out there (or at least the best one I´ve seen. RPGMonger is great) The video only covered the games until Star Allies, so if you´d like to get into the series, I´d definetly reccomend picking up Forgotten Land! It´s a phenomenal game and the first mainline game to come after the ones covered in the video
4:41 that's Wispy Woods, he's the first boss you fight in most of the games excluding battle royale, Forgotten land, and I think super Kirby Clash although I only played that game for exactly 2 hours. Also fun fact, I would like to point this out even if it is not canon but apparently in the "World Of Light" trailer, Kirby was the only survivor, also the thing he rides on can go light speed. Also not only is Kirby a literal god baby but he's a godslayer. Also fun fact Kirby is really strong as in Star Allies in one of the minigames let's just say he hits a meteor with a baseball bat sending it 9999 light years which is almost two times light speed and the thing crashes planets.
very unexpected video topic for me but hope u enjoy it 💙 lmk if there’s other stuff like this you’d like me to watch!

Especially because judging by reactions to that fight in Forgotten Land, people were assuming that that one in particular had *become* canon instead of always being part of an official AU, especially because they can travel between dimensions according to the JP text.
@jvts8916 people just don't know tye difference between not being canon and not being in the same continuity
So transactions are canon
@@reggielacey2235dont forget kirby clash deluxe and merry magoland.
Remember with each new game we have to completely rewrite the lore
No but we do have to make make some major changes. Most of the time.
@@leonglitchtrue, it is often critiques and not rewrites. (Although it would be good to mention that the video he is watching is 4 years old)
It’s kinda like the Pixar theory in a way
No we don't
@jameskimble6453 still accurate
16:22
Long story short, he got sent to purgatory and had to regain his powers to destroy the master crown once and for all
27:23
A mistake in translation, she doesn't follow her father's steps, instead she seeks to help other planets, not mechanize them
Magalor brought Microtransactions to the multiverse
To mechanize is to bring machines to a process. Like a tractor on a farm. According to the Definition on Google.
Also my favorite part as well lmao
Susie did NOT follow in her father's footsteps, that's a translation error. She's good now!
Also, videos 4 years old, more Kirby games are out!
You Do know there is a 2nd video yes
@@reggielacey2235 I learned this after reading the comments on this one, but I sent this before doing that.
@sammustheignoramus6661 I have no idea what you're talking about
Honestly the idea that she still ruthlessly consumes planets after everything that happened is just way funnier. Like she's just THAT corporate.
The problem is the japanese version still hints at Susie being sussy, "exterminate savages" anyone?
Welcome to the deep and terrifying part of Kirby! It really is great that there’s a wholesome Kirby game to play after you scar you mind learning the lore isn’t it 😊
The lore isn't that dark
@@reggielacey2235 idk man a indane man turned cult leader sacrifising himself to summon the dark one doesnt sound that lighthearted to me
@@reggielacey2235thanks to its cute visage it passes the ratings. If you put it together like blocks, it's really fukin crazy
10:42 Actually it's Marx not Mark. But yes, Kirby lore is really something alright.
actually in Japanese it is Mark.
@@Portersona69420
In Europe too
12:49 That's actually pretty normal for Kirby. A lot of the games start out with seemingly low stakes, only to turn into eldritsh horror at the 11th hour
I’m glad you got to experience the craziness of Kirby lore! To clarify some of your questions:
6:55 Dark Matter left Ripple Star because Miracle Matter was defeated.
Always happy to see someone learn Kirby lore for the first time, it really is a strongly connected and convoluted story hidden behind a wholesome face
Great to see another creator be flabbergasted by Kirby lore and remember he made a follow up video for Kirby and the forgotten land
Kirby on the surface: Cute, wholesome, dreamy world with silly things such as food-orientated names for places or rtrees with faces or stars which let you fly
Kirby under the surface with lore: Eyes, Eyes, everywhere eyes, dark, eldritch and body horror, angels with wings of blood, a pink ball of unlimited god-like power, possesion, insanity, butterflies who are the judges of an after life, galacta knight who appears constantly in alternative non-canon worlds but seems to try to reach the canon unvierse, gods, an unholy amount of text and lore,
and vore
I love the Kirby game formula. They always start cute and fun and always end with fighting and killing some eldritch horror and/or god
I never realized until now just how bizarre the lore of kirby is until seeing your reaction to it all. I guess i have gotten so use to it, nothing in Kirby bothers me anymore
The Kirby lore is the reason why the pink puffball survived the World of Light in Smash
1:50 "Is he really that powerful" is the first indicator somebody knows nothing about Kirby lore
I did NOT expect a Kirby video but I’m NOT complaining
i am absolutely in love with learning kirby lore and you should definitely watch the second (i think updated??) video of the lore
In defense of kirby releasing the nightmare demon: He just though Dedede was being a dick again, he was unaware that there was a demon in the fountain.
nice, i love people realising kirby is so deep, that blow their minds everytime.
YES i love kirby lore is so much more dark and complex than you'd think
Saw this in my recommended and just say "Heyyyyyy finally!"
Very excited to see another semi-innocent soul learn about the lore of the pink puffball :)
Edit: Yeahp, about the reactions I expected.
(Usually follows as such: Kirby having a good day just enjoying himself -> Something disturbs the peace -> Kirby forced to deal with the threat -> Kirby kills the eldritch horror at the end of the game)
I HIGHLY recommend Kirby's Return to Dreamland Deluxe, since it's a remake of the Kirby game on the Wii that introduces a LOT of people into the franchise (which is me, I'm biased lol). Either that or Kirby Super Star Ultra, since it's a lot Kirby fan's favorite one!
Kirby lore just gets more ridiculous as time passes. But I love Mathew's reaction when he learns about Kirby being pretty much a god slayer.
2:33 Fun fact: during development, Kirby was actually called "Popopo". His design was also a placeholder that became so beloved that it stuck.
There’s a sequel to this video called “Attempting to Explain More Kirby Lore”
which goes over all the new lore introduced in Kirby and the Forgotten Land, as well as correcting the translation errors in Star Allies pause screen info.
I would recommend it 👍
small correction: it's not Mark, it's Marx. There are, however, random enemies in the series with names like Joe.
Kirby games start off innocent but slowly go into nightmare territory with god like monsters, machines and aliens
Kirby gameplay: cute and sweet
Kirby lore:
Dedede somehow taught himself how to inhale like Kirby, although it's very limited since his stomach is not, in fact, a pocket dimension
I’m pretty sure Magolor’s Epilogue takes place in this so called Afterlife realm.
You watching Kirby lore is the best thing ever I haven’t even seen the video but I am so excited for this
Yes Kirby is a being that has the ability to copy anyone’s powers and has the ability to take on any power he wishes if he can suck it up, he has hundreds of forms and can even take peoples powers as shown in smash brothers, he is literally infinitely powerful and the funny thing is, is that Kirby is canonly a child, he is a baby and dosnt really know what he’s doing, so if he is this powerful now, think of how much more powerful he will get whenever he grows up
Lion guard reaction and also chibiverse kiff and big city greens out of context
as a Kirby fan, WELCOME TO THE KIRBY LORE!!!!!!
And then, there is Kirby and the Forgotten Land.
And then then, there is the Magolor Epilogue from Kirby's Return to Dream Land Deluxe.
And then then then, you realise that micro-transactions are cannon in the main series Kirby games.
5:27 you can see the soul leaving his eyes
You: shows Kirby with actual feet.
Me: ...you deserve what you're about to get...
Kirby is surprisingly deep for one of the most cutest and innocent looking games ever..! also can you do more Bluey? That would be fun, anyways bye!
He has a second video covering some issues with the first AND the lore of more recent games!!
i like how mat really relied on the background voice dude for some context lmao
to note: this video was made before "Kirby and the Forgotten Land" was released, which teaches us more about the Ancients and Morpho Knight and yes RPG Monger has a video about that too.
Mario and Kirby are in separate universes, so dw about that
Smash Bros. is merely a crossover event XD (although, there are Smash references in Kirby, due to both franchises being created by the same person, Masahiro Sakurai)
Can Kirby inhale all the eyes? Pac-Man...
Also if Kirby inhaled all the eye monstrosity, he would become a bibically accurate angel.. That's kinda how he works. My favourite character in Super Smash Bros and I have a game of him, too bad I payed more attention to Pokemon at a young age, thanks for this video, otherwise I wouldn't have known that Kirby even had lore!
theres actually a part 2 to this called "Attempting to Explain More Kirby Lore in a Single Video"
Kirby games really started at the level of “Liberate starving populace from a tyrannical monarch” and have only gone upwards in intensity from there
I like to think of Kirby as kid friendly cosmic horror.
"So is Kirby just a God? How does anyone ever defeat him?"
Omniman: That's the neat part; they don't.
10:32 DID YOU JUST CALL HIM MARK💀💀💀💀💀💀💀💀
I really like this trend where every few months a new Reacttuber is led down this rabbit hole
the second I heard that it was the RPGMonger's vid he was reacting to, I kid you not, I had a MoistCr1tical "WOOO" moment.
also RPGMonger did a sequel video including tons more lore from the next game after star allies, kirby and the forgotten land.
Idk if someone said this yet but with the suzie thing it was a translation error i think, shes not continuing the company to absorb planets and mechanize them, shes a good guy so its just gonna be a robotics company again most likely
Also the guy you said was named mark, you misheard his name is Marx, so yea less normal name lol
Though in Europe and in Japan, Marx is known as Mark, which is done as a Japanese anagram of “akuma”/devil.
Even more has been added to this with Forgotten Land and Magolor’s Epilogue
It's always the cute and innocent looking video game icons that have stuff right out of 18+ rated games.
(Like, Kirby obviously, but have yall seen some of Sonics stuff???)
Yes, Kirby is canonically the most powerful Nintendo character. Cracking his own planet in half with one blow isn’t even his strongest feat anymore.
Though I don't personally like this video for Kirby lore it's a good way to get into the series
There's a chance other people wrote this already, but we've gotten a few more games since that video, so allow me to write a little essay:
First, susie's description in star allies is a translation error.
Kirby arrives at a place called Lab Discovera, and going up a tour elevator, a voice narrates some backstory:
A long time ago, a being known as the ultimate life form, IDF-86, arrives at the world, going on a rampage.
All the characters in that are toys or trophies come to life
In my opinion, the best Kirby lore videos are the ones by woolieVS
This is the first video of yours that I see, but I really enjoyed it! I love Kirby so seeing people react to the series is always very fun, and you chose what is probably the best lore recap out there (or at least the best one I´ve seen. RPGMonger is great)
The video only covered the games until Star Allies, so if you´d like to get into the series, I´d definetly reccomend picking up Forgotten Land! It´s a phenomenal game and the first mainline game to come after the ones covered in the video
What's funnier is that this is just a general over view of the lore. The details of the story in the games themselves are also fun.
early gang, haha! loved watching you go through the lore of the lil puffball!
kirby always
starts his quests because someone stole his cake saving the world is just accidental
They explained how magolor survived in the remake of return to dreamland
