I have one of these in a less good condition. WIMA caps and off you go….

That's what I will be doing Steve. I'm glad I removed that WIMA cap and all the other caps from the Brenell now. Going to work on the other Brenell amp that does not want to record.

Lovely looking machine, like you say great to look at if all else fails. I have a TK5 which looks newer that your machine but very similar and is just great. All belts except counter were working as was the motor. For ages I thought the amp wasn't working and then it burst into life one day . gave the pots a good sloshing out and that was it. Do you have any idea how the TK series of numbers of these Grundigs were run? As I say mine looks a bit newer but is a lower number! Thanks.

Hi Richard, just saw you're message. Fo some reason I'm not getting notified when new comments come in. As you were saying earlier on Andy's stream, you got a real bargain there, nice one. I'm not really sure how the TK numbers run.

@@harveysvintageaudio I will have to drag my old Akai 1721 out of the loft to see if it still works and pop it on the my channel. But yeah that Grundig looks really well built.

@@gtretroworld It certainly is well built and weighs a ton, lol. I actually have an Akai 1721, that is the unit with the built in stereo amps and hard cover.
