Loved this game and the way the deck building is done definitely reminds me of Star realms. The expansion characters are great too and add all new tiles and card that introduce new mechanics to the game to add some weight. Also the kickstarter should be delivering in February for the new stand alone expansion allowing for 4v4 matches with a big arena map!
Great video and review. And I appreciate the comparison to King of Tokyo - how it may seem similar but also very different. KoT is great for a more casual experience whereas this game would have more thinking/strategy. Different types of battle royale experiences. Great looking production for sure. Hopefully you'll find some ways it self-balances for attacking vs not, I'm guessing it has a lot to do with what the other players are doing, but it would be pretty disappointing if the design was inherently flawed to one specific strategy. Thanks!
Yeah, I'm not quite ready to call it flawed--I definitely need more plays. ...It could also be a "me"-thing. My favorite thing to do in deck-building is to thin my deck by trashing cards...but every time I thought about going back to the "trash a card" spot on the board, it seemed there were 3-4 points ripe for the taking by attacking in the other direction instead... 😅
