I absolutely love this country. First Seville, and now Barcelona. Spain just keeps getting better and better. The food is right up my alley. The architecture, the art, the history, the beauty... I love it all. This is now on my list of favorite places for sure.
My fiance and I love taking these free walking tours on our first day in the city. So informative and a great way to get a feeling for the city. We loved the ones we did in Copenhagen, Berlin, and Prague last year. Our Prague tour guide told us about the Letna Beer Garden, and it had the most amazing view of the city. Free walking tours are amazing!
Free walking tours are the way to go! They're super touristy, of course, but in my experience it's the best way to get a quick overview of the city before diving in yourself. And the tour guides have lots of good information if you stay afterward and talk to them for a bit.

I find Nate saying a LOT........... "Apparently we were supposed to".................... I mean usually everybody else seems to have been able to do it???.. I mean I understand it can get hectic doing what you do but I hear you talk a lot about "RESPECT" when doing certain things and visiting places and you really want to exercise that, then it kind of goes for these people accomadating you guys when you do this last minute fly by the seat of your pants plans. It's not just the people running or working the activity or event but al the other travelers that are there to enjoy it as well.

Gothic quarter is my favourite in Barcelona. Stayed for 5 days in a hotel there, very close to the Barcelona cathedral.
