It was a wonderful, classy video. Richard if off his rocker with this comparison. First of all ... Meghan has never made a video anywhere remotely like this. Secondly.. Millions of people make stylized videos and there is nothing wrong with it in any way. Richard needs to get his head out of his rear end with this one.
In 2024 there are more diverse ways to be seen than on a Royal Tour. The video was heartwarming and well received by millions of people concerned about Princess Catherine. It was superb and doesn’t deserve criticism.
Don't forget, when Princess Catherine made her cancer announcement alone, they were critiscised because William wasn't in it.......They can't win either way 🙄

Although privileged and enjoy a lifestyle few ever can they are of flesh and blood like us all with the same hopes and failings too.I liked that Diana showed herself to be tactile with her children and people she met regardless of their stature in society. I liked that Harry looked so at ease when mingling with “commoners”( how I hate that term!) and I liked that he and his wife held hands in public. King Charles and Camilla seem very at ease in public. Catherine and William seemed to abide by the old rules of “no displays of affection in public” ………I was happy to see them so relaxed and normal and natural. The media, or public, will criticize whatever they do so they must just be them and do what feels right for them. It was a lovely video.

I'm an American, and for what it's worth, I believe the video of the family was one of the best things that has come out from the royal family in a very long time. The thing that saddens me is that there always has to be negativity on everything. So, setting aside all of the negativity that I detest, I think it was one of the most professional loving kind videos of the royal family that has been put out in years! And I myself having gone through cancer treatment, know exactly how she and her family feel.
Trust me, when one person in a family is diagnosed with cancer, the WHOLE family is affected. When the treatment ends it feels like a celebration. Please just allow William, Katherine and children show their JOY!
And it actually does affect the entire family. It is too often a vicious killer of all it touches. Humans who survive should offer hope to those still fighting the awful disease, if they are able. Some are too shy. The survival rates are so much better than when I was a teenager in Nursing School. Much better.
Finishing a cancer treatment regimen is a huge deal for cancer patients. It’s a cause for celebration. I know. At 66, I’m a 14-year cancer survivor. Why can’t you just allow for the Princess of Wales to celebrate it the way she chooses? Richard, didn’t you hear her? She doesn’t want to take things for granted anymore. With the video, she’s celebrating life, love and light with those she loves the most. Let’s be grateful it’s shared with us.💖🙏🏻

as a 75 year old American, I admit that I don't have the English perspective. I thought the video was a masterpiece. Catherine's and William dared to expose their hearts to the world and because Catherine has an art and photography background their story was told through that lens. As the wife of a cancer survivor, I appreciated her comforting words immensely. God bless the Royal Family.
I agree, a fellow American here. I also believe it’s important to show how otherwise “normal” they are as a family to the world. Times have changed and people do show more affection in their families today vs. in the post-WWII era. My grandparents were all of the “Greatest Generation”, and they showed more affection than previous generations. As long as they’re not “Hollywood”, I think it’s just fine. ❤
The video put out by William and Catherine was beautiful. They didn't have to give people more than a comment, but chose to share their lives with us. Just makes me respect and love them even more.
People hounded Catherine when she "disappeared" after her surgery, then created a non-issue issue when she published a photo for Mother's Day. She shared her very private cancer diagnosis and asked for time to get through her treatments. Now she is once again sharing a beautiful video to share her good news. This lovely video was their way of showing the joy Catherine, William and their children are sharing as her cancer journey moves onto the next steps. It might be unusual for royals to share a video like this, but they also represent the next royal generations.
I don’t understand the debate. It was a video announcing she finished chemo. Some ppl do parties, others go on vacation, etc. she has the right to deliver that news and CELEBRATE the way SHE wants. It’s HER disease, HER journey, HER family, HER story. There is no right or wrong way to do it. SHE decides.

Very disappointed in Richard Eden.As a cancer survivor who underwent chemotherapy my Husband and I found Princess Catherine’s video amazing and heartfelt. My husband cried watching it and hugged me. I want to thank her for allowing us into her personal life. Richard, she was so absolutely correct in everything she said and they did as a family. This video was beautiful. You might have just lost a viewer.

The video is about a woman, mother of three young children, wife, and her cancer journey. It’s not about being queen or doing royal business. It’s about life and appreciating it.
Richard argued that Catherine’s video may have been a mistake because 60-yes, 60-years ago Queen Elizabeth II decided that she had made a mistake by making her film? Richard needs to get with the times. Catherine’s video was very focused on sharing a message of love and emerging hope in response to a dark period in her life. It was authentic; it was Catherine. As for all this foolishness about the royal family needing to retain an aura of being “special”-well, people aren’t special because they are aloof or retain an air of mystery. People are special when they create meaningful connections and are a force for positive change. William and Catherine seem to understand that, and that’s a very good thing.

Oh please, as a cancer fighter myself, give the Wales a break! It was a lovely video celebrating a milestone. They've gone through hell & are still walking at the edge of it. This video was as much for themselves as it was giving hope to other cancer fighters. So those who say "it was not regal", sit down! It was human. I have come through breast CA but you are always concerned at the back of your mind it’s always there ! I’m sick of the stupid things that come out of particularly Jo’s and Richard’s mouths ! I use to think this was an educated program but wow how they have fallen . Leave the non royal out of it who cares about them anymore they chose to leave .
I couldn’t disagree with Richard more! Princess Cathrine’s video was absolute perfection! Beautiful! As someone who has lost several family members to cancer, I can truly feel the sense of joy and relief from that video. Cancer is a human issue not a royal issue and that video shows an uplifting hopeful human response. Totally appropriate and meaningful. It made me feel closer to them. It was very moving and real! Catherine disappeared, for good reason, with only one acknowledgement about why, which she provided herself. The film shows Catherine back with her family, smiling, and talking to that Wimbledon audience, who stood up and showed their appreciation. It was a lovely gesture towards a public who have been worried about her. And don’t call her Kate Middleton.
Catherine maybe a Royal but first and foremost she is a human being! No one knows what it is like to have cancer and the enormous stress it brings to a family if they haven't walked in those shoes. As a retired nurse I saw so many families face the same situation that Princess Catherine and Prince William have experienced. The video was lovely and so uplifting for others facing the same issue. Please can we stop all the criticisms and just support them through this process! This was a message of love,hope and faith!
Exactly, I am sick and tired of the constant criticism and digs at the Wales's. Even in today's episode about the number of royal tours they have done. It was acknowledged that they prioritised the children. Then, ironically, mention that the dastardly duo is contemplating a 3rd all expenses paid holiday to an impoverished country. No mention that it will be sans children, yet again.
When William and Catherine are on royal engagements you never see PDA. They’re so professional on their work and I see no reason they shouldn’t show how much they love and respect each other once in a while. Especially now …They showed the human side of their life. I'm disappointed and frankly disgusted with Richard Eden's criticism of Catherine's video announcing the end of her chemotherapy and her message of loving and being loved in her continued journey back to health. There was nothing offensive or tawdry about it, it was completely wholesome and family orientated. Good lord. Does Richard blush at the sight of a woman's ankle or leg? It was hopeful and uplifting. And we've seen royal home movies before, the queen released a few herself.
Richard, Prince William's own mum was more forthcoming than he or Princess Catherine have ever been. They are damned if they do and damned if they don't. People have been longing to see more of Princess Catherine and she was gracious enough to allow us this tiny glance into her life. I say well done!

As a cancer survivor I fully condone Princess Catherine's video because when I finished chemo and radio therapy I wanted to scream with joy. Good for her. I feel like the people complaining are the ones who can't make money off them anymore. People aren't stupid. They know the hierarchy of the royals but love seeing a young family overcoming great adversity
The public across the world have been asking for the respect Catherine deserves. The media, even those who profess themselves as monarchist keep calling by her maiden name. When married she took the family name and the Queen gave her the title of Catherine, Duchess of Cambridge and the King gave her name as Catherine, Princess of Wales. The video made most of us teary eyed and thankful she and her family are doing so well, and she still was thinking of all people and their families who are, have, or going to be going through cancer!

What they went through as a family,no one will know unless they had a same journey. They were just overjoyed that the chemo was over. Catherine has already demonstrated herself to be a creative soul with a talent for photography and an obvious love for her family. The “controversy” just shows you simply can’t make some people happy no matter what you do. Who do you people think you are, to think you can dictate how the royal family chooses to publish glimpses into their lives? I’ve watched the film four times and I cry a little each time. The title of this video is ridiculous and I was angered when seeing it. I typically love this broadcast but this one hit a nerve. Catherine’s brief film with her family addressing her recovery was beautiful. There is no way in a million years Catherine could ever be compared to the Markle woman. This film was a one off film I’m sure to reassure the country of her recovery, unlike Markle who continually drop photos and film to publicise herself and to upstage our Royal Family.

The poor woman can't win. When Catherine, Princess of Wales made her first video sitting on the bench, people criticized her for not having Prince William sitting next to her to show his affection and support for her. Having had cancer and treatments in 2023; it is very scary. I thought the video showed how they had come out of a difficult family issue and they wanted to share it with the public. I loved Catherine and William's video and know this isn't something we will see often, or ever again. My husband is a cancer survivor and I know what it feels like to know that you have a future...something we weren't certain of before cancer treatment. The entire family is shown breathing a sigh of relief and it is truly humbling.
There’s a world of difference of an authentic and dignified message of a genuine family journey as opposed to trashing your family in Oprah and selling jam - no comparison.

That Richard could say the name of Princess Catherine and Markle in the same breath is quite disturbing for obvious reasons. Catherine's video was well made and artistically beautiful. IMO, the reason why some are uncomfortable with it is because it's very spiritual and deals with the eternal mysteries of life, death and love. Kings can do scrum hugs with no worries about protocol, but let there be a depiction of the deepest meanings of life and then there are people who get all uncomfortable and concerned about protocol.
Extremely disappointed in Richard’s comments about the Princess and the video. To suggest that the Wales’s could be compared to H&M or god forbid the Kardashians is beyond the pale. This was an incredible gesture from Princess Catherine to woman everywhere who face a terrifying diagnosis especially those with young children. There was NOTHING wrong with that video! The video was beautiful, well thought out, and well executed. I worked Oncology for almost 30 years and the diagnosis of cancer is a shock to the system. It affects everyone in the family and you’re walking on eggshells until you finally get the news of all clear. This video was done to show hope, joy, resilience, strength, and the love that the family has for each other. I believe that what we saw is how they are all the time. They actually light up when they’re together as a couple and as a family. The video was also done to give others fighting this horrendous disease hope. Catherine has more class in her little toenail than the California one has in her entire body. I think the video was as good as the one done for the coronation and their anniversary. I hope the Wales continue to do what they think is best for them and not listen to naysayers. I also hope they have many more years of love, happiness, and joy, which is what I saw. It was refreshing to see William so relaxed, happy and content. Remember, they are humans first. Geez!

What it all boils down to is the fact that William and Catherine are celebrating the life they have as husband and wife along with celebrating Catherine's recovery along with their children. I couldn't agree more!
As a cancer survivor, I see their video as a celebration! They have been through a very rough road & are now on the other side. I applaud them showing how happy they are feeling & that they are human & have feelings outside of "royal duties"

So many people around the world sent cards and good wishes to them that to have this video thanking supporters and acknowledging those still going through treatment is a gift.
Complaining about the video of a woman who has fought cancer like a banshee for her life for the past 9 months, given her entire adult life to highlighting charities, her hard work - even her CHILDREN to your country - Richard Eden you sound incredibly ungrateful. We don't have a family like that in the USA. I wish we had a family who would dedicate their lives to our charities and the country's well-being. Hi, I'm certainly not defending Richard Eden, but coming from where you do and the essence within your post of what you believe the Royal Family (and more importantly the King) to be about indicates misconceptions probably held by many in the US. Arguably the main duty of the King, as Head of State, is to be the constant daily reminder to our Politicians that we "the people" elected them to look after OUR best interests and not THEIR OWN best interests, as there could be a tendency for them to do. British people are very cynical of politicians. Your comment about "country's well being" is well founded, as the RF's constant public walk-about(s) and Royal Patronage(s) visitations as well as routine openings/ etc., is a constant barometer of the "grass roots mood of the people", which Politicians and Press may wish to spin or at worse suppress. In the US, the Great & Good and Celebrities (the High Rollers) have Charity/ Foundation Dinners or Galas where their involvement is (usually) limited to opening their cheque-books for a tidy sum $$$$/£££ (which is probably tax deductible) and they then depart feeling suitably sanctimonious about themselves, with the "hard" work being done by the army of unknowns in the Towns & Cities. In Royal Patronages, most lasting for many decades, the Royal input is "time & effort" either behind the scenes or out and about highlighting what has been done and what needs to be further done, with the money to fund the activities "found quietly/discreetly behind the scenes" or by Public Appeal, usually on an Annual basis. Royal Patronages are highly sought after, as it's the "connection" with it's influence where the value is. Returning to Richard, what he and many are afraid of is that Royal Family venture down the US Celebrity route (as H&M) whereby the essence of everything is for PR and "the optics", with the outcome being both hollow, shallow and empty. God forbid we take that path. I, probably like yourself, took out of the video that is was "their" personal journey from darkness to probable light and they wished to share it with other cancer victims, albeit not in their position of privilege, but through it the Wales family has now identified and become "one of them". This is the essence of having a Royal Family and what they are about.

The REAL Royals don't take a cent from funds raised and the King often donates his own money, as does William....they bring attention to needs and causes and promote many positive campaigns... its not always about money, it's also about getting positive messages out there (like Catherine's early childhood campaign, etc..)

It annoys me that people critizes William and Catherine for being a beautiful family. This video showed that they are a normal family. I loved seeing them so relaxed and having fun. We only see them in formal occasions, so we saw them having fun, this is wonderful.❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤

As an American standing on the outside looking in; I would say that the video was very well done, but still dignified and respectful. I think that if the royal family is going to survive into the future and their children are not going to end up mal-adjusted as seen in the past; it is brilliant for them to show that they are in fact normal too.
I agree. Many Brits don't understand this. The remote, extremely private rules set up by the late Queen are now in the rear view mirror. We live in a fast-paced online media age. The world is a very different place. If anyone can hit the right balance between stiff royal protocol and normal relatability, it will be William and Catherine. They will have to make their own way and may not always get it 💯 right, but they will figure it out. I am a health professional working in the field of cancer, and so many people with cancer themselves have been moved by the princess’s video. I am very disappointed in Richard Eden; he is getting old and out of touch with what modern people want from the monarchy. He needs to pull his head in, and start listening instead of opining.

As a person who has cancer going into year 4 after completing treatment.... when i finished my cancer treatment and realozed that i was going to survive.... i was elated and i wanted to share my joy. Takw thia video for what it was a wife, mother and daughter who just went thru a horrendous illness and she is feeling her way into a stage of recovery. Celebrate the love of family the wales are experiencing. People offended dont understand how it feels to realize you are going to live.
Quite so. I imagine the relief for the family was palpable, and as she is so young to be facing this horrible disease, the video showed their joyous relief that a big black cloud has lifted from their lives. The realisation that she can face a future and see her children grow up, and she can continue her journey beside William, as they obviously love each other very much, would give them as a family the feeling of euphoria shown in the video.

I loved Catherine's video. It was a beautiful celebration of Princess Catherine's completion chemo treatment. It was evidence of natural family love and appreciation of each other. The video was also a great encouragement for other cancer sufferers.

Although privileged and enjoy a lifestyle few ever can they are of flesh and blood like us all with the same hopes and failings too.I liked that Diana showed herself to be tactile with her children and people she met regardless of their stature in society. I liked that Harry looked so at ease when mingling with “commoners”( how I hate that term!) and I liked that he and his wife held hands in public. King Charles and Camilla seem very at ease in public. Catherine and William seemed to abide by the old rules of “no displays of affection in public” ………I was happy to see them so relaxed and normal and natural. The media, or public, will criticize whatever they do so they must just be them and do what feels right for them. It was a lovely video.

I'm an American, and for what it's worth, I believe the video of the family was one of the best things that has come out from the royal family in a very long time. The thing that saddens me is that there always has to be negativity on everything. So, setting aside all of the negativity that I detest, I think it was one of the most professional loving kind videos of the royal family that has been put out in years! And I myself having gone through cancer treatment, know exactly how she and her family feel.
Trust me, when one person in a family is diagnosed with cancer, the WHOLE family is affected. When the treatment ends it feels like a celebration. Please just allow William, Katherine and children show their JOY!

Finishing a cancer treatment regimen is a huge deal for cancer patients. It’s a cause for celebration. I know. At 66, I’m a 14-year cancer survivor. Why can’t you just allow for the Princess of Wales to celebrate it the way she chooses? Richard, didn’t you hear her? She doesn’t want to take things for granted anymore. With the video, she’s celebrating life, love and light with those she loves the most. Let’s be grateful it’s shared with us.💖🙏🏻

as a 75 year old American, I admit that I don't have the English perspective. I thought the video was a masterpiece. Catherine's and William dared to expose their hearts to the world and because Catherine has an art and photography background their story was told through that lens. As the wife of a cancer survivor, I appreciated her comforting words immensely. God bless the Royal Family.
I agree, a fellow American here. I also believe it’s important to show how otherwise “normal” they are as a family to the world. Times have changed and people do show more affection in their families today vs. in the post-WWII era. My grandparents were all of the “Greatest Generation”, and they showed more affection than previous generations. As long as they’re not “Hollywood”, I think it’s just fine. ❤

The video put out by William and Catherine was beautiful. They didn't have to give people more than a comment, but chose to share their lives with us. Just makes me respect and love them even more.
People hounded Catherine when she "disappeared" after her surgery, then created a non-issue issue when she published a photo for Mother's Day. She shared her very private cancer diagnosis and asked for time to get through her treatments. Now she is once again sharing a beautiful video to share her good news. This lovely video was their way of showing the joy Catherine, William and their children are sharing as her cancer journey moves onto the next steps. It might be unusual for royals to share a video like this, but they also represent the next royal generations.

I want to thank her for allowing us into her personal life. Richard, she was so absolutely correct in everything she said and they did as a family. This video was beautiful. You might have just lost a viewer.

Richard argued that Catherine’s video may have been a mistake because 60-yes, 60-years ago Queen Elizabeth II decided that she had made a mistake by making her film? Richard needs to get with the times. Catherine’s video was very focused on sharing a message of love and emerging hope in response to a dark period in her life. It was authentic; it was Catherine. As for all this foolishness about the royal family needing to retain an aura of being “special”-well, people aren’t special because they are aloof or retain an air of mystery. People are special when they create meaningful connections and are a force for positive change. William and Catherine seem to understand that, and that’s a very good thing.

As someone who has lost several family members to cancer, I can truly feel the sense of joy and relief from that video. Cancer is a human issue not a royal issue and that video shows an uplifting hopeful human response. Totally appropriate and meaningful. It made me feel closer to them. It was very moving and real! Catherine disappeared, for good reason, with only one acknowledgement about why, which she provided herself. The film shows Catherine back with her family, smiling, and talking to that Wimbledon audience, who stood up and showed their appreciation. It was a lovely gesture towards a public who have been worried about her. And don’t call her Kate Middleton.
Catherine maybe a Royal but first and foremost she is a human being! No one knows what it is like to have cancer and the enormous stress it brings to a family if they haven't walked in those shoes. As a retired nurse I saw so many families face the same situation that Princess Catherine and Prince William have experienced. The video was lovely and so uplifting for others facing the same issue. I'm disappointed and frankly disgusted with Richard Eden's criticism of Catherine's video announcing the end of her chemotherapy and her message of loving and being loved in her continued journey back to health. There was nothing offensive or tawdry about it, it was completely wholesome and family orientated. Good lord. Does Richard blush at the sight of a woman's ankle or leg? It was hopeful and uplifting. And we've seen royal home movies before, the queen released a few herself.
Richard, Prince William's own mum was more forthcoming than he or Princess Catherine have ever been. They are damned if they do and damned if they don't. People have been longing to see more of Princess Catherine and she was gracious enough to allow us this tiny glance into her life. I say well done!

As a cancer survivor I fully condone Princess Catherine's video because when I finished chemo and radio therapy I wanted to scream with joy. Good for her. I feel like the people complaining are the ones who can't make money off them anymore. People aren't stupid. They know the hierarchy of the royals but love seeing a young family overcoming great adversity
The public across the world have been asking for the respect Catherine deserves. The media, even those who profess themselves as monarchist keep calling by her maiden name.
When married she took the family name and the Queen gave her the title of Catherine, Duchess of Cambridge and the King gave her name as Catherine, Princess of Wales.
The video made most of us teary eyed and thankful she and her family are doing so well, and she still was thinking of all people and their families who are, have, or going to be going through cancer!
Catherine’s family video announcing she’s cancer free was awesome! It shows them as human being a who are like a lot of families who get such amazing news. I think this video is a joyful celebration of her end of treatment. It also showed a couple that is still in love and who have survived a brush with death. This is a personal message and it does not have to follow royal protocols.
When they resume royal duties, I am sure a lot of the Royal guidelines will still be followed. So hang in there, Brits! You will survive this little nuzzle.

I loved Catherine and William's video and know this isn't something we will see often, or ever again. My husband is a cancer survivor and I know what it feels like to know that you have a future...something we weren't certain of before cancer treatment. The entire family is shown breathing a sigh of relief and it is truly humbling.

Catherine's video was well made and artistically beautiful. IMO, the reason why some are uncomfortable with it is because it's very spiritual and deals with the eternal mysteries of life, death and love. Kings can do scrum hugs with no worries about protocol, but let there be a depiction of the deepest meanings of life and then there are people who get all uncomfortable and concerned about protocol.

There was NOTHING wrong with that video! The video was beautiful, well thought out, and well executed. I worked Oncology for almost 30 years and the diagnosis of cancer is a shock to the system. It affects everyone in the family and you’re walking on eggshells until you finally get the news of all clear. This video was done to show hope, joy, resilience, strength, and the love that the family has for each other. I believe that what we saw is how they are all the time. They actually light up when they’re together as a couple and as a family. The video was also done to give others fighting this horrendous disease hope. Can’t you please allow them to bask in their happiness? Catherine can NEVER be compared to or mistaken for the California one. Catherine has more class in her little toenail than the California one has in her entire body. I think the video was as good as the one done for the coronation and their anniversary. I hope the Wales continue to do what they think is best for them and not listen to naysayers. I also hope they have many more years of love, happiness, and joy, which is what I saw. It was refreshing to see William so relaxed, happy and content. Remember, they are humans first. Geez!

Complaining about the video of a woman who has fought cancer like a banshee for her life for the past 9 months, given her entire adult life to highlighting charities, her hard work - even her CHILDREN to your country - Richard Eden you sound incredibly ungrateful. We don't have a family like that in the USA. I wish we had a family who would dedicate their lives to our charities and the country's well-being. You guys are so amazingly picky and angry and prudish.And don't forget that HMTQ did a documentary - a WHOLE DOCUMENTARY into her family life - we even got sit around their breakfast table and listen to them talk!
Hi, I'm certainly not defending Richard Eden, but coming from where you do and the essence within your post of what you believe the Royal Family (and more importantly the King) to be about indicates misconceptions probably held by many in the US. Arguably the main duty of the King, as Head of State, is to be the constant daily reminder to our Politicians that we "the people" elected them to look after OUR best interests and not THEIR OWN best interests, as there could be a tendency for them to do. British people are very cynical of politicians.
Your comment about "country's well being" is well founded, as the RF's constant public walk-about(s) and Royal Patronage(s) visitations as well as routine openings/ etc., is a constant barometer of the "grass roots mood of the people", which Politicians and Press may wish to spin or at worse suppress. In the US, the Great & Good and Celebrities (the High Rollers) have Charity/ Foundation Dinners or Galas where their involvement is (usually) limited to opening their cheque-books for a tidy sum $$$$/£££ (which is probably tax deductible) and they then depart feeling suitably sanctimonious about themselves, with the "hard" work being done by the army of unknowns in the Towns & Cities. In Royal Patronages, most lasting for many decades, the Royal input is "time & effort" either behind the scenes or out and about highlighting what has been done and what needs to be further done, with the money to fund the activities "found quietly/discreetly behind the scenes" or by Public Appeal, usually on an Annual basis. Royal Patronages are highly sought after, as it's the "connection" with it's influence where the value is.
Returning to Richard, what he and many are afraid of is that Royal Family venture down the US Celebrity route (as H&M) whereby the essence of everything is for PR and "the optics", with the outcome being both hollow, shallow and empty. God forbid we take that path.
I, probably like yourself, took out of the video that is was "their" personal journey from darkness to probable light and they wished to share it with other cancer victims, albeit not in their position of privilege, but through it the Wales family has now identified and become "one of them". This is the essence of having a Royal Family and what they are about.
@@stuartmccall5474sadly, Harry and Meghan have shown you that all your galas and dinners etc are just profit making ventures for the rich!! The REAL Royals don't take a cent from funds raised and the King often donates his own money, as does William....they bring attention to needs and causes and promote many positive campaigns... its not always about money, it's also about getting positive messages out there (like Catherine's early childhood campaign, etc..)
@@stuartmccall5474I think this American postet understood EXACTLY the role of your royal family. You proceeded to write three paragraphs explaining WHAT THIS PERSON JUST SAID. They were saying they would like such an institution in the US. So, in general, this person was praising your monarchy.
What they did NOT like (and with which I agree) is that Richard Eden was incredibly off base in thinking Catherine would ever sink to the level of low-life American celebrities (like the Kardashians.) Catherine would never create a video like the Kardashians, not ever.
The Kardashians gained fame from filming one of the daughters having s#x and from having plastic surgery to increase the size of their bottoms and bosoms. They are the lowest of the low, and they in no way represent even the middle rung of American celebrity.
Perhaps Richard needs to research the life (and outfits!) of the Kardashians before he opines that Catherine might go down that route. If you British truly worry that your royal family might go that low, then you obviously have no faith in their judgement and should simply abolish the institution.
At least we would get rid of Harry!
It annoys me that people critizes William and Catherine for being a beautiful family. This video showed that they are a normal family. I loved seeing them so relaxed and having fun. We only see them in formal occasions, so we saw them having fun, this is wonderful.❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤

The video was a beautiful expression of the joy of healing in the arms of one’s family. I thought it was perfect! Shame on those stuffed shirts who don’t want to accept that the royals are human! Richard, this is the Princess of Wales’ story to tell in a way that works for her. It brought tears of happiness to many who love her and her family!

I won't cancel but I detest the comparison between Princess of Wales and Harry's wife. One is regal and dignified and the other, well,less said the better.
As an American standing on the outside looking in; I would say that the video was very well done, but still dignified and respectful. I think that if the royal family is going to survive into the future and their children are not going to end up mal-adjusted as seen in the past; it is brilliant for them to show that they are in fact normal too.
I agree. Many Brits don't understand this. The remote, extremely private rules set up by the late Queen are now in the rear view mirror. We live in a fast-paced online media age. The world is a very different place.
If anyone can hit the right balance between stiff royal protocol and normal relatability, it will be William and Catherine. They will have to make their own way and may not always get it 💯 right, but they will figure it out.

There is NO controversy. There are people, like Richard, stuck in their ways that don’t want the monarchy to modernize in any way. Catherine has been through a difficult 9 months and wanted to show her gratitude for the public’s support. She clearly has a new appreciation for life and wanted to share that. She did nothing wrong
He is part od media, he lives of badmouthing royals and he is especially mean to Princess Catherine. I am a health professional working in the field of cancer, and so many people with cancer themselves have been moved by the princess’s video. I am very disappointed in Richard Eden; he is getting old and out of touch with what modern people want from the monarchy. He needs to pull his head in, and start listening instead of opining.

Princess Catherine’s video was a sign of strength and courage. She bravely gave us what we have been praying for. A video of a beautiful happy family after going through and will continue to go through the most difficult time in their lives. For a very private family they exposed their very special private life for us. We the majority who love her so much needed this . We needed to see her happy and normal. She did it for us her people who so desperately wanted to see her healthy and happy again. Thank you to the Prince and Princess of Wales and your children . Thank you for your gift to us.
This Video of the Princess and her family was just what the Nation needed. There is so much negativity fed to us by the msm it was very uplifting to see a beautiful lady with her husband and children, supporting others going through cancer treatments.
The video was a lovely family time together. A young lady beating cancer. What I also liked in her narrative was the mention of many other families suffering the same.

As a person who has cancer going into year 4 after completing treatment.... when i finished my cancer treatment and realozed that i was going to survive.... i was elated and i wanted to share my joy. Takw thia video for what it was a wife, mother and daughter who just went thru a horrendous illness and she is feeling her way into a stage of recovery. Celebrate the love of family the wales are experiencing. People offended dont understand how it feels to realize you are going to live.
Quite so. I imagine the relief for the family was palpable, and as she is so young to be facing this horrible disease, the video showed their joyous relief that a big black cloud has lifted from their lives. The realisation that she can face a future and see her children grow up, and she can continue her journey beside William, as they obviously love each other very much, would give them as a family the feeling of euphoria shown in the video.

Richard, I think you should sit down with our production team and rethink this one. The fantastic film by by William and Catherine was their reality. Don't try and make headlines at Catherine's expense. We saw how the 'hounds' attacked her when she submitted one image as she was in the middle of a very scary cancer treatment. Shame on you.
I loved Catherine's video. It was a beautiful celebration of Princess Catherine's completion chemo treatment. It was evidence of natural family love and appreciation of each other.
The video was also a great encouragement for other cancer sufferers.
This video is not Hollywood It is very authentic and shows the family celebrating the good news thank you for sharing with us God bless The Prince and Princess of Wales and their children.
