it doesn't look like you know anything about audio tech...it is a great system but such a poor selling...

The bose wave music system is awful.

Doesn't matter how horrible the selling is, these things sell themselves because a lot of people (for some reason) really love these things. As an owner of a Bose Wave Radio, they're really not that great. It's nothing more than an exaggeratedly overpriced fancy alarm clock.

no it’s not! You are clueless! OR don’t know how to set it up properly. It comes with preset base for instance but can be set differently for better base. Doubt you heard it set properly!!!! The system sounds wonderful and it’s on sale at times for $299. If you live in a townhouse, condo or apartment where you cannot use a larger system BUT you still want great sound This is worth every dollar!!!! If you want to add the bottom piece that’s additional and why the $599 pricing. But I just bought the system for $299 and added a $29 Bluetooth receiver. I also bought a much larger Bose 16 years ago that is even Better ( much higher volume with zero distortion) And paid $699 SIXTEEN years ago. I’d pay $1200 for a new system IF still available but sadly discontinued as they moved into other technology. OH and why would you PAY so much for a fancy alarm clock????

I'm not clueless. I actually own a Wave Music System III so I know what I'm talking about. Not only is the sound tinny (what do you expect from 2" drivers?), but Bose somehow thinks that all music genres are created equally, so there is no option to adjust the bass/treble at all (moving it in different places around the house doesn't help at all.) This bothers me because you don't get to hear what the artist wants you to hear. Instead, you hear what Bose wants you to hear. To top it all off, the clock runs too fast (I have to adjust it at least twice a week; yes, I called Bose and the clock still goes too fast), and there's no buttons on the unit itself so I'm screwed if I lose the remote. Overall, it's an overpriced system and the only people who buy Bose are people with a lot of money who don't know anything about audio (I've listened to the Acoustimass 10 and the QC 35 II as well. Both leave a lot to be desired, sound quality wise as the Wave Radio.)
For apartment/condo settings, you don't have to shell out hundreds on Bose. A mini-stereo from brands like Yamaha, Sony and Denon, to name a few, can give you better sound for less than a Wave Radio.
To answer your last question, I didn't buy my fancy alarm clock. It was given to me by a relative because he got the SoundTouch advertised on this video. Gives my bedroom the fancy vibe from the $10 alarm clock it replaced, but that's about all it has going for it.
