In his pre-game presser, Neal Brown just came out and said he was going to stack the box with however many it took to stop the run and force Avery to throw the ball. After watching the game, it was obvious that the Mountaineers secondary is not good. Seems like a massive blunder to force us to exploit his team’s biggest weakness. He must have completely undervalued Avery’s ability to make plays through the air.
Yeah that’s yet another fireable offense for Brown so to speak but then again I’m not entirely sure what the best plan to stop us is right now. Don’t think teams have much of an idea of what to do just yet. Thanks for watching!
The game is slowing down for Avery which is a big problem for not only the Big12, but for the entire league as a whole. Once the game fully slows down for him, teams will just have to pick their poison on how they lose. Fast by getting gashed in the air, or beat up by letting KSU run all over them. Good time to be a KSU fan.
I really like the fact that Avery HAD to beat a team with his arm without running the ball and we blew them out, should've had 52 points. Once he gets healthy enough for the qb run game/scramble yards, that will open up passes downfield even more as teams have to sacrifice guys in coverage for guys coming up to stop Averys running. The designed qb run game, with fakes to Dj, would help relieve pressure off DJ so the defenses dont sell out to stop him.
Absolutely man, I think it’s a work in progress. And honestly, after teams see Johnson throwing like this they won’t be able to slow down the run stacking the box nearly as much
Love watching this team progress and grow. Take away the run, no problem, Cats will just pass. They can't take away all phases of the offense. Defense also shows progress. They just get more dangerous each week. GO CATS!
I am glad the coaching staff was smart enough to revise our offensive play calls. OL is just above average. Defense is now punishing the ballcarriers, with follow up shots after the first man tackles. We played everybody on defense. With Asa, and Terry getting quality time.
I think OL’s a little better than that. Willis being out this game was a definite change but still think they’re improving. Excited to see what’s next!
AJ completed 65.5 percent of his. Passes (with 3 yds and no ints), so very very good but not "perfect." That just means there's room for improvement. Oh boy.

Brown is a clown who can’t coach and has never made an in game adjustment that’s worked! So it’s not surprising he made a horrible game plan!
