As a Fijian, Tonga did good against a much structured and full set of Japan players. Samoa almost lost last week against a unstructured Japaneese side and plus Japan played 14man whole 60minutes. I think Tonga will be Team to watch in RWC Pool stages😊
Three of the Japanese players are from the same school as Vaea Fifita,his brother Leva Fifita and Taniela Tupou. Anyway our half back is too slow in getting the ball out. Fiji is so good especially with all home grown talents

it's normal that there is a lack of efficiency in Japanese rugby. already what they have achieved for a decade is incredible. First, they relied on quite a few naturalizations, which are at the end of their careers. second, they developed their championships with a JIFF system like in France. it will eventually pay off. In France, it took 10 years to produce results. Third, the former Japanese stars will enter the educational system of rugby, and bring their experiences. One thing that is acquired is that the Japanese people are always present behind their team, we saw it in November, and we still see it today. Give them time. And then I think that the presence of the hopes that are Japan, and Georgia, are good for our sport which remains a sport of little widespread.
Tonga improved immensely in the last 3 yrs. They have a holding defence and there using there forwards efficiently. Japan isn't far away from being from being a top tier nation. Give it 4 years
Tonga has two of the worlds best players in Folau and Piutau. Why not play them both and maybe put one at 10? Folau has played Aussie Rules so he has a lot of kicking experience.

Tonga are just been wise not to play all their best international pro players at the same time because they don't want any of the best ones like Isreal falou, Malachi fekitoa to get injured before world cup. His defense is questionable too. Always overrun and there’s a big mismatch out wide coz he missed the tackle. Moala was supposed to play but he got injured and they had to put Fekitoa im even though Fekitoa was already carrying a hand injury.

Disappointing loss. Tonga came out trying to bully Japan. Two reasons it didn’t work. We got tired fast and it was too hot to even play that way. Stick to the basic set piece. Japan is a good side and if Tonga hadn’t missed that easy conversion and conceded that needless penalty from their dominant scrum, this would have been 18 - 18 against Japan who are now a tier 1 side. They also had a good win against Australia A that was full of Wallabies.
