@@alexandraguerrero4198your drive is too big probably. Needs to be smaller than 32GB. Also a single file can only be 4GB. That’s my problem rn, windows is like 6GB so I’m trying to figure out how to make my usb bootable
I have a brand new SanDisk Ultra Flash Drive...I was going to format it and found this video very easy to follow BUT when I opened up the file that says USB Drive (D) there are three files in there that say something about SanDisk software .dmg and Install SanDisk...do I just format over that or do I need that to use my flash drive when saving photos and videos to this particular flash drive?
One Norwegian to another I do like how you explain everything and your cameras show absolutely everything. I do have a question. If the flash drive is new is it necessary to format?
I don't think you necessarily need to format it first. Most of them are already set up for Windows or Mac. I personally like to however. You got the country wrong however 😂 I have Swedish & Finnish Heritage. But I have been to Norway and it was beautiful!
Hi folks, I just tried to format my usb flash drive Kingston datatraveler 64gb in Fat32 and Windows 10 only proposed exFat and NTFS. don't understand. The other day I changednthe format of another Usb Flash drive and had no problem setting it to Fat32. Perhaps there is a program that could change it instead of bloody WINDOWS?
Very informative for a "computer challenged" person like me :) I have a question: I need to make a bootable USB flash drive to install windows on a new PC... you mention FAT32 but can/should I use NTFS file system on the Flash Drive? Does it matter what file system the bootable flash drive uses when the PC use NTFS?
I don't remember what format I used... I don't think it matters. I think Windows formats it itself when creating a bootable flash drive for installing Windows.@@edonramadani8017 EDIT: But I did use a 32 gigabyte flash drive and not a 256 gigabyte. I heard something about sizes being a problem. Especially for BIOS flash drives (8 Gb max - don't know if that is true).
I used ext2 or maybe it was bootice and need help. I created 4 partitions but cant get it back to just 1.. im trying to use a very old amd 64bit pc to make drives for my Acer aspire 5 slim.
Hello! Thanks for this video, easy to follow, even for a techy challenged person like me. However, it still didn't work for what I am trying to do, and perhaps I am going about this all wrong. So, what I am trying to do, is put videos on a thumb drive that will work on my DVD player (that has a slot for a thumb drive). I am compiling music vids, would like to pull a variety of different episodes from my DVDs, onto a thumb drive, so I have more variety, and it can run longer than a DVD would - I just can't get it to work with videos (MP3s play just fine), any suggestions? After following your video, and giving it a shot in the player, said something along the lines of, "This USB device is not supported. And you're a horrible cook." Like I said, I am NOT techy at all, so the more basic your answer, the better it will work for me. Advice? Do I need a program to do this? No doubt this is second nature for some of you guys, where I am still trying to figure out how to work my VCR. Kidding. :-) I actually used to do with VHS tapes what I am trying to do with a thumb drive / DVD player, but no doubt the latter is much easier (I hope) and far less time consuming. Thanks!
I have Windows 11 and a SAMDATA USB flashdrive. I went through the Format process as you described, but I got the following message: *Windows was unable to complete the format.* Do you know the problem and how to resolve it?
What about a new USB, I have been uploading pictures straight from my external to the USB and no problems. Should I be formatting new USB’s if I will upload pictures?
Hi, I'm so glad I found your channel. So I have a quick question. I travel every week for work. And of course every hotel has a different TV. Do you think I would be safe using FAT32 for all of my USB movie downloads?

My Win 10 only allows NTFC or exFAT 😞
I saw on a video that shows some site called Rufus to force change the default exFAT to fat32 so maybe try that? Unless you already fixed the issue.
@@alexandraguerrero4198I have the same issue as the dude above. It's 2 TB and I can't get it to format 😢

So I only have to make sure i format it as a FAT32, but i dont have to mark the partition as active or something like that?...
Hope for an answer

My USB-stick is 32 GB but on the computer it says it only has 28 GB space. How do I format it to get 32GB space instead of 28?
Usb sticks have less then they seem

Should I be formatting new USB’s if I will upload pictures?
Usually they will come pre-formatted so if that works good I wouldn't worry about it.

I believe that fat32 is the most common format supported by televisions. So you should be okay for most TVs.
Great
