You can absolutely do that! You'll get a very similar result. Some phones can save RAW files when u take a photo, which gives u better quality after editing :)
@Iron bolt: There is a mobile version of Lightroom for iphone/ipod/ipad you can use, the latest iphone does shoot in RAW -jpegs are not editable without ruining the shot as the details are lost in jpeg.
