This hits home. I moved in August to a small town, 200 miles from the nearest fast food, up in the high desert of California. I'm at 5,000 feet in a small valley surrounded by undulating hills, sparesly peppered with craggy trees that poke out from the snow. Sometimes it's a high of 20 degrees fahrenheit in this mountain village. My own home now is an abandoned FreeMason temple that's been converted to many different things over the years. Once a sears robuck. once a bar called the old bohemian. It was completely empty until I moved in. It has no windows. It's all stone, in a cube, surrounded by frost. Cold, inside and out. It's so dark, I lose track of time while I am in my studies. my sleep cycle is starting to change. With work, it's exhausting. Dreams and memories start to blur, and ideas go sideways fast. I think I'm thinking clearly, but I don't know if this old temple is effecting me. If a theif hides in an abandonded temple, and takes on the persona of a holy man to stay hidden in the community, does the sacred essence of the ancient temple correct in some sort of cosmic game? Will I be cleansed, or will I be successful? RIght now, I don't know. There is something to this cube beyond my mind, just out of reach, and somehow traveling into me, hiding, and pretending to be my mind.
The Cube. Jokingly called a prison, The Cube is the main part of a Geothermal Control Station that grants power to the town below. People like to call it a prison because snow storms regularly trap people for days, if not weeks at a time. Its always well stocked and maintained, but the natural frozen environment on the higher elevations always causes some problem or another. Still, the town below couldn't exist without it. Stories, conspiracy theorists and more like to imagine a dark secret within its walls and underground chambers. Extra dimensional experiments, alien containment zones, cybernetic transformation, secret military base, the works. Honestly, the biggest conspiracy is wondering who keeps freezing all the peanut butter chocolate candies. Some people claim they like them cold, but someone keeps freezing all of them. Even the vending machine freezes that candy. Just that one in particular. Weird thing that. (Thank you for these videos. The music really helps get through the work day.)

I grew up on Upstate NY. In the 1970's we would get big snow storms. There was a building, (kind of blurry) off the NY State Thruway out was new and large. I was driving is a big storm. It was hard to see I got off the Thruway and was looking for some place to just hunker down. The sun was going down and it was a blue light I passed this place and thought what if I was stranded there . Well you had to see it. This reminds me of that evening. Erie but secure? Make sense? This is a great one. If you understand that ramble. 😅

I would love to see the "camera" view from in the far back of the town looking on at the Ominous Cube. A structure that's ever present in the view of normal citizens.

Foil... aluminum foil of all things - Jether was right! The irony of wearing a tinfoil hat is insane to me, but by wrapping it around my head, it's allowed me to trudge through the snow and reach The Cube without collapsing. I kept telling Jether to just leave all this alone, but he came here anyway... and I haven't seen him since. Pressing the foil tighter around my head, I sneak past the guards talking nearby. It's warm inside and smells like... burning hair, I think? There are racks and racks of servers humming in the enormous concrete space and a woman is pushing a cart of labeled hard drives that she's sliding into blinking, empty slots. On the far wall, there's a windowed green door. I approach it as the pressure in my head builds. Losing balance, I grasp at the handle for stability and lean my head on the glass. My world begins to spin but I see him - Jether's standing harnessed to the wall in the dim room below... and there are others... all hooked up to a strange machine with wires. I turn when I feel a woman's soft touch on my shoulder. She smiles sadly and removes my hat.

Sub Zero...you must be in my apartment. That's pretty much what it feels like. They say that when you freeze to death, you feel warm and cozy and sleepy before you die. Just kind of numbing out and slipping into darkness. And the music comes and lays down more layers of cold and quiet on top of you. Meanwhile, the Cube stands like a silent witness.
I stayed late to finish up some work, now there is no Way I can drive home. The snow is coming down fast. Looks like I have to stay here for the night. I need to be sure we are locked up. We are working on some top level projects here. There is a shower in my office and I can sleep on the sofa.
The six teens, plus their robot dog, had no idea where they were... One moment, they were all hanging out at the park in their hometown, and the next thing they knew, they were all suddenly transported to a frozen wilderness with a lowly town in the distance and a strange cubic structure looming ominously over it on a nearby hill... For them, it had gone from summer to winter in an instant, and for once, it wasn't the leader of the group's fault they were mysteriously warped there, but his friends didn't see it that way, at least at first... "Oh, brother... Here we go again, Neutron; you've _really_ done it this time...," Cindy griped as she and the others looked around at their frigid surroundings, herself glaring at him suspiciously moments later. In an effort to help out, Elke spoke up and added, spotting what was in the distance, "What that be over there?? It look weird, but maybe it be place we get warm...?" Spotting the odd structure himself despite the somewhat thick snowfall, Jimmy informed them, "I have n-no idea what that c-cubic structure is, but if it can provide us with w-warmth and shelter, I-I'm in..." The others voiced, or barked, their agreement, right away trudging toward the mystery structure in the distance... What it had in store for them, they had no earthly idea... Little did they know that their being warped was the fault of one of Jimmy's most sinister enemies... What do ya think, Brett?? 😉

There's a factory there. - A factory? - Yes, it radiates something that messed up the temporal drive. The cube managed to send some data before it malfunctioned. The health records records we recovered from the village indicates that workers at the factory suffers psychiatric problems. We're still in contact with the cube over the service interface but the temporal drive won't come back online to bring it back. - What factory is that? - Unknown, sir. Whatever that factory is, it wasn't in our timeline. - Keep investigating.
