I always thought the BFBB final boss was unimpressive... Until I played the remake. It's amazing how a graphical upgrade can make a boss feel so much more impacted. Also having the music uncompressed helps a lot. I found a whole new appreciation for this game.
I'm abit late responding to this, but the music actually isn't uncompressed. What Rehydrated did was take TH-cam uploads by Kiki's Music Kollection and throw stuff on top of it, while duplicating the track to create a pseudo stereo effect. Some tracks still ended up amazing, while others... not so much. If you wanna hear the actual uncompressed tracks, a TH-camr by the name of Sheriffthegreat came in contact with the original sound team and had the original 2003 Stereo Masters released. This also included stuff like cutscene music and even a couple alternate cuts. Extensions can be found in the "True Stereo" playlist.
Hearing 0:22 makes me imagine there being a voice SpongeBob hears in his head as he fights Steelpants. "You can do it," the voice says. "You've made it this far, and you're our last hope. Don't give up."
They had no right to make this so good. The boss battle themes for the Robo characters were a stark contrast to the other levels, made the bosses feel a lot more intimidating. This theme just feels super tense. Always loved it as a kid.
Can I just say this is one of the best final boss themes ever. This, "The Ultimate Show" and "Hopes and Dreams" are probably my top three! I love this song!

Upgraded quality and some of the songs original stereo files in the original game were not able to be recovered, so some songs had to be remade from scratch. I dunno if this was one of them but I do know that the Mermalair was one of those songs for example.
The music is an APM track called "AND MY AXE!" The current theory as to why it's the only non cutscene/mini-game/subarea track to be stock is "Hacienda Post ran out of time."
