      They are comparing them because they're the new wave of consumer made systems. High end PCVR headsets are pretty niche and most aren't willing to run out and drop $800-$1500. Quest 2 and PSVR2 are the only two VR headsets I've ever used. Here's my personal breakdown on how the PSVR2 compares to Quest 2:
    **PROS** (for PSVR2)
    - The headset itself is more advanced than Quest 2, and includes rumble. It also has eye-tracking, which is a neat feature that actually does work very well. Future software may (potentially) make great use of this tech. The lenses are also of a higher resolution than Quest 2, which means less pixilation and more detail. Wider FOV means there's less of a 'looking through a pair of binoculars' effect (though it's still there to an extent).
    - PSVR2 has much better raw graphics than native Quest 2. It is like comparing PS4-level visuals to Nintendo Gamecube (and that's only the best of the best-looking in regards to the latter). It's a BIG difference.
    - OLED lenses means much more vibrant colors than the LCD lenses of the Quest 2.
    - The headset is also a lot more comfortable and secure than Quest 2 and is better at preventing fogging of the lenses. The rubber liners around the set do a better job at keeping outside light from permeating your vision. Adjusting the lenses is also much easier to do on PSVR2, as it can actually be done while you are wearing the headset
    - The controllers are technically more advanced than the Quest 2's, with more advanced haptic-feedback and adaptive triggers that better add to the immersion of some games.
    - Presumably, PSVR2 will receive many games that simply will not be able to run on a (native) Quest 2, due to the difference in processing power, as well as Playstation-exclusive games.
    **CONS** (for PSVR2)
    - The Quest 2 is totally wireless, lighter, and cheaper than PSVR2. It also doesn't require you to buy any external device in order to use it. But if you do have a powerful gaming PC, you actually do have the option to hook Quest 2 up to a PC to play PCVR games - and you can STILL do it wirelessly. PSVR2 on the other hand, needs to be hooked up to a PS5, with a wire, at all times. And currently, the PSVR2 set cannot be used to play PCVR games in any capacity (although someone will probably be able to get it to work somewhere down the line).
    - PSVR2 headset may be more comfortable, but it's also more of a pain to set up and find that 'sweet-spot', which seems to be much more narrow. It may take longer to put the headset on perfectly in order to reduce blurring.
    - There is a perpetual graininess on PSVR2 that is FAR worse than on Quest 2. Apparently, the OLED lenses result in a 'Mura' effect, which looks like a thick layer of something akin to having a screen-door wrapped around your eyes. This is most noticeable in dark areas of a game - especially very dark areas, in which the the 'Mura' effect is so bad that you can barely even tell what you are looking at anymore. It is VERY distracting and probably the single biggest drawback to the PSVR2 for me. All VR sets have a sort of 'film-graininess' to their image, but PSVR2's 'Mura' is on a whole other level and is also completely 'static', making it all the more distracting.
    - Quest 2 has a much larger library of games over PSVR2 right now, and if you include BOTH of its native games as well as PCVR support, it is unlikely that PSVR2 will ever be able to catch up in its entire lifetime.
    - Quest 2 controllers last waaay longer than PSVR2's. They also use two AA batteries each, instead of being USB rechargeable like PSVR, which means that if you don't own the PSVR2 rechargeable controller stand, it's going to be a much bigger pain to charge these controllers simultaneously - especially considering you will need to recharge them much more often than you will need to replace the Quest 2 controller's batteries. This issue might be debatable, as it depends on whether you own a charging stand (or just hate having to buy AA batteries in general).
    - Quest 2 has native access to a ton of non-gaming applications and features (even disregarding the Quest Pro), such as web-browsers, documentaries and other (vaguely interactive) VR experiences. Again, this stuff might not be factor for some people, if all you want to do with VR is play games only.
    **OVERALL**
    Personally, after having owned and enjoyed the Quest 2 for over a year (mainly playing native games-no less) and having originally imagining that I'd retire it to the closet once getting PSVR2, I'm a bit surprised that PSVR2 is not exactly the complete blowaway piece of VR-tech I was expecting. The significantly better graphics and overall more advanced tech is all fantastic, but it's hard to ignore that horrendous 'screen-door Mura' - especially for someone like me who tends to enjoy horror games in VR, which are often filled with dark areas. It actually makes me wonder if I even want to buy something like 'The Walking Dead: Saints and Sinners 2' on PSVR2 or just buy it on Quest 2 (assuming it comes out on Quest 2). Also, while my gaming PC isn't powerful enough to take advantage of Quest 2's PCVR support (with satisfactory results anyway), that is not the case for everyone.
    Overall, both sets serve their own purpose and have their own advantages and disadvantages. I'll be keeping and using both units for now.

      Quest 2 "cheaper"? Can you do math? Quest 2 is now $400. Without the $130 elite headstrap upgrade, your head will explode after playing it for an hour. Even with the elite headstrap it is still the most uncomfrotable headset in the market. As a "standalone" headset it can only play some OLD PCVR games with seriously downgraded graphics. It is NOT standalone without a $1500 gaming PC for playing AAA VR games. The ONLY reason you are saying this is because you are a PC gamer. You had no better solution than to buy Quest 2 back in 2020. Even with a gaming PC, it has latency after wiring to the PC. I don't need the wireless feature of Quest 2. That Snapdragon chipset and battery are making Quest 2 heavier, seriously imbalance and uncomfortable.

Just because the total resolution of the panel in the headset is closer to 4k doesn't mean you can get the equivalent of a flat 4k display. Basically it would be the equivalent of placing your nose to the TV and you wouldn't be able to see the entire screen all at once. So your view has to be pulled back some to the point that the resolution is equivalent to that of a 1080p display. So make sure you know what you are talking about before you give snark.

      The pancake lenses are the thing, but for me I try to adjust my head and eyes and everything just to make is look similar to the quest 2

    Biased review quest fanbois. Can’t find the controller? Really? turn on the see through view duh

    These guys are so full of cap. Guys just check out other reviews not Facebook shills. The controllers have tracking rings and are touch sensitive. There are plenty games, the visuals are pc level vs cell phone level, it has a pass through for you to easily see around you and yes find your controllers. Lemme find out these guys work for facebook.

    Can't play vrchat on psvr. Automatic L

    U can't compare the 2 plain and simple. To even use the psvr u need a ps5. So compare it to the quest pro. They are In the same price range then. And the pro would win due to its ability to do AR AND Vr and its ability to be portable.

    Psvr2 definitely has finger detection and tracking.

      Doesn't have hand tracking

    • @trumplostlol3007
      @trumplostlol3007 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@BlackParade01 You don't need hand tracking cause of the touch sensors on the controllers. And it is easy to have hand tracking on PSVR 2 cause of its BETTER cameras than Quest 2. I turn off the hand tracking on my Quest 2 all the time cause it is making things worse, not better.

    Glasses touching the lenses will scratch them and ruin your headset.

    Apples to Oranges. This video comparison is pointless. You also didn't mention that Meta abandons their players after a year of the new headset being out like they did with Quest 1. I bought two Quests in the same time frame as PSVR1 which lasted from ps4 to ps5. Thus I spent over $800 to remain relevant in Meta's game library.
    You are literally recommending a headset that will be obsolete in a year. And one whose $400 is smart phone graphics and terrible performance.

    • @smittyvanjagermanjenson182
      @smittyvanjagermanjenson182 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      You mad bro? Lol. Quests can still very much be used as a PCVR system indefinitely. Dropping support for the outdated mobile chip hardware portion was always a given.

    • @sindred
      @sindred ปีที่แล้ว +3

      @@smittyvanjagermanjenson182 mad? Nah, bro. But remember "bro" he is recommending the Quest as a $400 device and using that $400 as a selling point. And you are saying that a Quest plus a PC represents a sharper image than a PSVR2 and a PS5 when, in fact, it does not, as the Quest one and two screens are already showing their age. I don't have to prove it to you, but I've own RiftS, Quest 1,2 and Pro)though I returned the pro). They are great headsets but it is a headset that I have alongside my PSVR, not something I would ever choose between. Becauss, again bro, apples to oranges? Are you mad, bro? Lol. Does Meta have you so hooked that you are ok with them abandoning their user base two years after owners bought Quest 1?
