Dude! Didn't know you were from San Mateo.... me, too. Went to Serra & grew up in Fiesta Gardens. Went some good Aragon parties. Aragon had the rich hotties, too. Small world!
Born and raised! I went to Aragon as a very middle class kid. Had a lot of rich friends but I hung around everyone. The weekend parties were rocking! I used to catch nice rainbows in the creek along Crystal Springs road starting when I was as a kid straight through high school. We could climb down there through the woods from the back end of the neighborhood I grew up in (the highlands) until we had cars and could drive down there.
@@wildernesswithamani1027 Awesome! I always fished the Bay off of San Mateo Bridge Pier and the Bayshore area in Burlingame by the Showboat. Good times!
@@wildernesswithamani1027 Enjoy watching your adventures in the Eastern Sierras. Hope I can fish some of those spots. Appreciate your enthusiasm, insight, and conservation (barbless, brookie rescue)
@wildernesswithamani1027 I appreciate all your videos. My family and I live up on the north yuba river. It's about 2 hours from reno. Loads of lakes. You should come and fish, add a few more streams and lake to your video fed.
If you go to the CA fish and wildlife regulation guide for 2024 online you can scroll down to the special regulations for trout waters chart at around page 56. The waters governed by special regulation are listed alphabetically on there. For rivers/streams/creeks that are not listed under special regulations are typically governed by general regulations which makes them subject to section 5.85 of the regulation guide which keeps them open for artificial/barbless/zero bag limit during the months outside of the regular trout season. Of course, you always want to get your regulations from official sources and not a guy like me on TH-cam! I have been wrong before! Hope that helps.
Those fish in that position are ready to strike like lightening because that's the only chance they'll get before that meal is gone! There's also usually competition from other fish holding there. Snooze you lose is their policy!
@@wildernesswithamani1027 sounds good man. Thankyou. Gonna try out that wooly bugger and some rooster tails. Was there 2 days ago but wasn’t prepared to fish but I saw some guys catching some nice rainbows and I would def like to try it out. Goin back next week 🤞
I've been doing this for 5 years and I have so much content for many dozens of places on my playlists it will be fine. The rivers I have on my river fishing playlist are all doing great. In fact, I have clips on the branch going back 5 years. Far enough back when it was still open into October. The sky hasn't fallen after those have been running close to half a decade. For starters, it's a really tough place to fish.
Beautiful stream I couldn’t fish those edges at my age. Thanks for taking us along. Great tips.
Right on. Always glad to take you along. Yeah, it's dangerous down there. Even at my age!
That’s a beautiful stream. Lots of water too! Those rainbows look darkly colored. Beautiful!
I love fishing there. It's a challenge to move around but the rewards can be worth it.
God bless you , great work😊
Thank you.
Beautiful country!! And beautiful fish. And great video.
That is a really hard river to get around but I have at least one day on it a year in me.
Beautiful river like you said but it does have some tough shorelines. Makes it adventurous👍
That grass is super sketchy! It could be solid under it and 3 inches to the side it's a pitfall!
Very nice. Thanks
Right on. That fly was working perfectly until I lost the only one I had!

Great looking spot. Now craving a bologna sandwich
Wait until you are really hungry and that thing will be prime! Warm it up, even better!

Hah, nothing like a good gourmet Bologna & Cheese Sandwich. Grew up on those.
As long as I am full I'm good! I'm a simple sun of a gun!
Hell yeah!!
That nice rainbow was jumping. There isn't a lot of room to battle a fish in that stream but it's a fun place to fish.

Keep at it bud.
Right on. More to come. At least, that's the plan. You never know! Some day the woods might take me!
Have you fished Spanish Creek just above Keddie? ( over near Quincy) Lots of similar topography but a nice trail along side...best in late spring.
I have not yet. I hope to get over that way later Fall/early Winter.
Gee, I need to get up North.
I haven't been there in a long time
North can be good! There are so many places to go and so little time. I feel you.
...lots of good fishing water but most areas can be hard to navigate...big boulders...at my advanced age😊
Getting around down there is sketchy! I'm on the wrong side of 50 so I'm not looking to have to heal up any broken bones!
And greg gutfeld came from San mateo too. When are you doing the "car cooking with Amani" segment. You teach being thrifty in a good way.
I should do a feature on my dash board burritos!
How do you find out which rivers are closed or open for fishing?

When I throw a spinner right into the white water of a little water fall like that, it gets hit before I even start the retrieve.

Do you add a split shot to a spinner? I’m only gonna go for one day due to work and I have about 1 hour to fish and would love to get on a rainbow 😅
@@717beto I do not add a split shot. In general, I do not add weight/split shot to my lures because I feel it cuts down on my control over the action.

Tell everyone not enough ppl there already
