How DARE anyone complain about not posting a train video! Your personal health is MUCH MORE important!!! Wishing you a speedy recovery and bless you for being a great example of a fine human being.
Best wishes for a speedy recovery and good luck with your PT. My wife 5 years back had both total knee replacements 6 weeks apart. Kind of like a BOGO as we met the insurance deductable with the first one and the second one was covered 100%. In the long run she says it was the best thing she's done to better her life.
I never gonna stop watching a video to move. I knew it would sunrim when the video was got less and less open the summer time. I know there you need we're getting. Where's the worst? And I noted operations Michigan to hope a lot. So thank you to a man that would see you other than the night points. Love you too. God bless
Don't worry about a man and never gonna stop watching your videos. Don't you worry about that man. Take a time. Get back, get better and I wouldn't see on the next one. Love you too miss
Happy new year Eric! I’m 71 and as I told you last week I had total done one my left knee last November 2023. I should have done it years ago. Best advice is do what the therapist and doctor tell you to do faithfully. In no time at all you’re going to feel better than you have in years, just don’t overdo it and be careful. Be well brother
Heal up quick captain! My dad says the improvement in his quality of life post knee replacement was incredible. Good luck, thanks for all you do for the community!
I recently dislocated my left knee, and it's made life much more difficult, to say the least. Hope physical therapy goes well and you have a speedy recovery, Eric 🙏 - Ryan
Best of luck on your recovery. I hope the new knee gives you a better quality of life and that you can get back to doing more things you love soon! Love watching your videos.
I had a knee realignment surgery back in 2013. The physical therapy didn’t seem too bad for the knee replacement folks comparatively. They were up and at it and out pretty quick. Just make sure you follow through with all of the exercises they give. If you have a locking knee brace and have any issues with range of motion, lay down in your family room and watch some TV with it unlocked and try to keep moving the knee. My range of motion was terrible in physical therapy and they wanted to do a forced manipulation…laid around over that weekend with the brace unlocked and it all totally came back naturally. All the best!
Health first, finances second, trains third. Surgery is ridiculously expensive for even a MINOR operation, and one must make sure their finances are in decent shape after getting it done to make sure they can afford to run any trains in the near future.
Thank you for doing these Bonanza’s every year, completely understandable and thank you for still posting a video today. Good to hear the knee surgery went well and will make your life easier, hope the pain goes away asap!!
Best of luck on your recovery Eric. I sympathize with the pain that you went through before the surgery. I have a couple bad discs in my back. And my physician recommended surgery.
Happy New Year, get well soon Eric! You did all really wonderful work for all you did to show us your amazing trains collections! Keep up the great video!
Hello Eric and best wishes on your recovery. I had a total knee replacement surgery November 2023. I can tell you it's a game changer and I kick myself for not doing it sooner. I'm 63 years old and should have done this 10 years ago. I tore my ACL when I was 29 and scar tissue developed over the years. Thank God my other knee is normal. Eric, do ALL physical therapy they give you and do not give up. It will speed up your recovery and get your knee back to most or all of your knee's range of motion. And yes, walk around allot, even if it's inside the house and you have to do laps around your kitchen and dinning room, LOL.. Get well soon, I look forward to more train video's in the future. Take care!
Glad surgery went well and wish you a speedy recovery! I've been watching your videos gosh at least 10 years if not a bit longer and TH-cam has been recommending me old videos of yours lately. I watched a few and it's interesting to go back and see just how far the layout has come. Take care Eric!
Had both knees replaced 7 years ago, 6 months apart. BEST thing I did to improve quality of life. I’m 75 years young. B4 surgery I walked down stairs backwards because of pain. Best advice stay on meds as prescribed, helps keep pain in check. PT work as hard as possible n work on flexibility n strength. The improvement in quality of life @ your age with be noticeable quickly. All the best…
Could luck on your recovery, Eric. I popped an inguinal hernia in September 2023. Pain was so bad, I would throw up. I had surgery in March 2024, and when the doctors went in, they saw I needed double hernia surgery. Rest up as best you can, don't rush things. It'll do more harm than good. Thanks for all you've done for the hobby.
Get well soon! Just think once you recover, you will no longer be in pain. Fingers crossed! Or at least until you do the other knee. Best of luck to both of you in the New Year! 🙏
This is life changing for many who kneed …er….need it. Kids will someday understand as they get older. Glad you were able to have it done! Thanks for another great Christmas bonanza.
Thank you for posting. Take your time and try to take some time to relax for a while. I look forward to your eventual recovery. Happily your trains (and we) will be awaiting your eventual return to full health.
Prayers for you Eric. I totally understand. I was in a similar situation when I was 12 when I suffered a leg fracture, which limited me in terms of playing with my trains. Now 14 years later I just had a house fire, but thankfully I was able to salvage my collection, but for now they are now in storage while the house gets torn down and a new house goes up. It'll be a long while, but I will be building a new layout and I'll be so happy to run trains again. I may set up a small temporary layout in my bedroom in our temporary trailer home. I wish you the best and hope you recover well sir.
Eric,Get well quickly…wife had double knee replacement 12 years ago…had to go to a rehab place for 6 days but got thru it and you will too. Regards, John
Glad your surgery went well! Get well soon and thank you for all the effort and passion to upload videos. Appreciate all the hard work and love your train layout! Happy New Year!
Best wishes, Eric. I know well what it is to be down for a while. Take your time hold on to your Faith do your therapy and get back to your trains when you can. after all they will wait for you until you heal. I will be praying for your full recovery . God Bless... and "Happy Rails". GMan
I've been a fan of you Eric and watching your videos since 2015. I can't believe that this year will mark 10 years since I joined! It's been a fun journey for sure watching the layout as well as you, evolve over the past 10 years. Your my all time favorite train TH-camr ever! Glad your surgery went well, and I hope you fully recover soon! Great video!
I have sympathy, my future stepmom has had foot surgery and might have it again soon, I don’t know if she’s had knee surgery, but I’ll keep you in my prayers. Stay safe and be thankful that you’re a little too far south to get snow (wink) God bless.
Congratulations on going thru on it Eric. I will also be needing to soon enough to go thru it as well. Everyone says it is totally worth it. Keep up the great work you do!
Been watching since 2013. I have watched every video on your web site and any others on TH-cam. You do a Fantastic job spreading the hobby and I love the tutorials. They helped me tremendously. Get well my friend and remember do ALL the PT exercises as often as you can
Eric, Glad the surgery went well, and yes, the rehab can be rather "exciting." Hope the rehab goes well, too. If somebody gets twisted about no new videos, they can go back and watch one of the previous videos. I would bet they can find one they haven't seen.
A lot of strength and my best wishes Eric, this little challenge will never stop the great Eric's Trains. I recently discovered your videos and I like them a lot, Happy New Year and greetings and hugs from Mexico
Hey Eric, Take your time and heal up properly! Knee replacement is no joke and takes time to fully heal. Don't worry if the process is longer than you expect, just go at your own pace and listen to the doctors and therapists guidance. 👍👍
Hey Eric, Good luck with your knee replacement and a speedy recovery! I had both my knees done(1st = 2009, 2nd = 2012). Best advice I can give you is to totally commit to your physical therapy, as it is very important to keep your range of motion and flexibility in your knee! Good luck! Paul from Michigan
Hi Eric, I had my knee operated on the 31st too! My son and I have been watching your channel since 2015 and always enjoy your reviews and other content. Good luck with the recovery!
Best wishes for a quick recovery. I am scheduled for my right knee replacement on January 21. I am somewhat anxious about the procedure but seeing you has helped me to know I am not alone. I love your videos as I have been running my Lionels set since 1946 (age 5). Blessings.
Feel better soon Eric! Can’t wait for the new videos after you start feeling better but don’t rush and wait till you’re feeling better to keep filming! Glad to hear the surgery went well!
Eric take care of that knee. Eric you put out good content, I really enjoy it. I myself use to be in a train club in Birmingham, not to far from you. Our club was called: Magic City Railroad Club. What happen was most all the guys were older than me and pretty much all of them are gone. I'm 71 and I wish we still had our club, I really miss going there. Catch you later, Barry
I had both knees replaced and it really improved my quality of life. Physical Therapy is what’s hard. I still have 3 therapy sessions left and I’m done. It was 3 months before I could go down to my basement to run my trains. Now I’m running them though. Get well soon Eric
A big, big wish for a speedy recovery! A friend had his done last year and is now fully recovered and hard to keep up with. Strolling the York aisles will be sooo much easier this Spring. Best to you and thank you for all your great video work.
Hey Eric, happy new year! I just wanted to say thank you for making fun and high-quality train videos so consistently over the years. I remember I first started watching your videos about 10 years ago when I stumbled upon your review of the Lionel Motor City Express Set. I was an excited 10-year-old at the time trying to get into the hobby and watching your videos showed me just how cool O-gauge trains could be and also helped me learn more about them. Although now I am an adult and often have other things on my mind, I still regularly come back to watch your videos and always enjoy it. They even inspire me to break out my old trains and run them every once in a while. Hope you have a speedy recovery and looking forward to what comes next on the channel!
Hi Eric, I had knee replacement 3 years ago. The pain was bad, but the most important thing is to work hard thru all your physical therapy sessions and complete them so your knee joint can move from zero thru 110 degrees, don't give up..
Best of luck with your recovery Eric. I know this very well. I’ve had 7 total knee replacements between both of my knees the last 10 years. It’s not much fun. I actually just had my right hip replaced just before Thanksgiving on November 25th. Things are going well with my hip recovery thankfully, but now my right knee is acting up again unfortunately. So here we go again. Hang in there, do your physical therapy, and hopefully you’ll have great recovery. I’ll be praying for you that you don’t go through what I’ve been going through. Your health comes first, so don’t rush your videos. This is one of the reasons why I haven’t posted any videos myself in recent times. We’ll all be here wishing you well. Tom
Eric. Happy New Year and best wishes for a speedy recovery. In your stead, I spent my day working on my layout and changing the traction tires on my MTH Premier S-1.

You'll be back before you know it. I know what rehab is like, because having a physical disability you never stop PT. Take Care Mr. Eric and I hope your rehab is short, but don't rush it.
Good luck with the new knee. You'll be glad you did it. Do the rehab! Days 3-10 are the worst because the pain meds wear off, then it gets better. Best train tip I can give is to get a foam kneeling pad - essential for working under the layout.
Thank you Eric for your 8 days of this 2024 Christmas Bonanza, sadly it's day 8 but it's like they say all good things must come to an end eventually🎄🎄🎄🎁🎁👍🤘💙

Hey Eric, happy new year! I just wanted to say thank you for making fun and high-quality train videos so consistently over the years. Hi Eric, I had knee replacement 3 years ago. The pain was bad, but the most important thing is to work hard thru all your physical therapy sessions and complete them so your knee joint can move from zero thru 110 degrees, don't give up..

Wishin you a quick'n easy recovery, Eric
Never apologize
You are one of the greatest ambassadors for the hobby.
Eric. Happy New Year and best wishes for a speedy recovery. In your stead, I spent my day working on my layout and changing the traction tires on my MTH Premier S-1.
We really enjoy your videos and understand PT is VERY important in your recovery.
Take your time returning to filming.
You are worth the wait! 🚂
Prayers for a speedy, (relatively) pain-free recovery
Couple things to remember after knee surgery. Do all the at home therapy they recommend, it'll make life easier. You no longer have a bursa on your knee, so kneeling will feel like death. It'll feel weird for a while, but the surgery (replacement) is totally worth it. God Bless!
Get well soon Eric. I like the man behind the camera. Great fellow.
Hey, just wait for the hospital bill! You’ll be up and running in no time. lol 😂 🤣🤣
Thank you. Get well and happy new year.
Eric congrats from a fellow model railroader N scaler its because of people like you who have influenced more model railroaders to get actively involved in our hobby yes I know ITS EXPENSIVE but there are less expensive alternatives to get started GOD BLESS YOU AND LISA THANK YOU FOR ALL YOU DO ERIC HAPPY NEW YEAR ;-0
Thanks pal and get well soon!! 🇺🇸👍🏽
You'll be back before you know it. I know what rehab is like, because having a physical disability you never stop PT. Take Care Mr. Eric and I hope your rehab is short, but don't rush it.
Had no idea about your pain. You hide it well. You are a main stay of our hobby. Get well soon!
Daughter had total knee replacement 6 months ago. PT is tough, but you will end up with a perfect knee again. Heal fast and Happy New Year.
Get feeling better Eric. And don’t let them work you to hard in therapy.
Good luck with the new knee. You'll be glad you did it. Do the rehab! Days 3-10 are the worst because the pain meds wear off, then it gets better. Best train tip I can give is to get a foam kneeling pad - essential for working under the layout.
Pray you heal well, and get back on your feet soon.
My dad got knee surgery a while ago. He did pt, and he is feeling better than before, so your surgery will certainly help you! Happy new year!
Thank you Eric for your 8 days of this 2024 Christmas Bonanza, sadly it's day 8 but it's like they say all good things must come to an end eventually🎄🎄🎄🎁🎁👍🤘💙
