I always enjoyed the fact that each course is utilized and no courses left out. Even if it's for a smaller role. I like driving on some courses backward. They're fun to me. The only harder part for me was trying to do the boost since I didn't like how the directional pad was small.
Should've seen my suffering when L and R buttons didn't work on my DS.

Mission Mode is the reason why Mario Kart DS is not only an underated DS racing tilte, but also my favorite Mario Kart game too. 😅

@@Twin138956Productions2019 Wiggler is easy once you get the mechanic tho, like its really surprising how incredibly much time you have to spare at the end if you play well

For the last Tims MK9 will never be a thing, the next Mario kart will be called something else

@@josselinlouis6538 yes but it isn't the 9th Mario kart game, MK8 and MK8D are different. You can't say they are the same as their are many differences. And with Tour being a thing it's not gonns be called MK9 as their is to big of a gap between 8 and the new one
Fun fact: All of the bosses are also bosses in Super Mario 64 DS.
Fun fact: King Boo, King Bobomb, and Wiggler are the only bosses to later become playable characters.
Edit: King Boo is also the only boss that was previously a playable character
king bobomb wasn't actually a playable character until mario kart tour, yet king boo was a playable character in double dash

@Ehsan Khan Yeah, but the deveploment of Mission Mode was bigger than Grand Prix mode... They couldn't implemented an 8th world, possibly because of DS hardware limitations...
Wow the nostalgia this reminds me of when I thought chief chilly was the last boss... then I found out about the extra missions and wiggler boss... safe to say my mind was blown

So much fun with this game. I didn't own a PC or anything of that sort around the time I was playing this, so I had to find these modes just by playing the crap out of this game and polishing driving skills. This was definitely an underrated addition to Mario Kart.

i did the lvl 5 mission differently lol, i follow king bob-omb when he jumps and stay right in the center where i get the bomb and hold it behind me, as he falls down and squiches me, the bomb instantly blows up below him and also hits me but i keep my 3balloons cause thr mision is therefore done

I really don't understand why mission mode never made a return especially in 7 and 8 deluxe. Those games had kart parts that you could unlock. Why not put some unlockables behind missions like parts or characters ?
Because Nintendo wasn't planned to bring that game mode back then...

HOT TAKE: Mission Mode is overrated.
Don’t get me wrong, I loved mission mode as a kid. It was perfect for a handheld Mario kart title at the time. But I see so many people asking for this to return in Mario Kart 9 and I have to disagree. 90% of these missions are extremely simplistic and/or copies of one another, and I just think Nintendo can aim so much higher. If mission mode does return, the missions need to be much more diverse, difficult, and interesting overall.
