@@copperhead6132 the game used to have an amazing amount of players, enough to have huge battles and even bayonet charges, now the game is literally dead, well, some people do occasionally play, but the amount of players have dropped so badly it's just such a waste of a beautiful game
I have so many fond memories of this game. Literal days spent playing this. HLL basically replaced this and although the graphics were better in HLL the gameplay is much more solid in PS. Also this game still has the best sound design I've ever heard.
As a WWII enthusiast in the history of it, along with books, movies, even toys, and especially the video games, it's a hobby/interest I love to a day-to-day basis. Post Scriptum will be a game that I'll never forget, one of the best WWII games I played. Especially when playing the Airborne maps and D-Day. The memories and excitement that rushed through my veins when I played it, learning from a simple foot soldier, to tanks, logistics, and squad leading. It was this game that got me into Squad as well. But once I heard the news on the Dev team being laid off, it was heartbreaking. This game with surely be missed for me.❤❤❤
They have different devices and publishers. PS is made by Periscope Games and published by Offworld Industries. HLL was developed by black matter who sold it to team17.
man i spent 1k hours on this game, i was in a team it was such good times. I'm so sad it ended up like that. I remember 2020 when the chapter 3 got released it was insane
yeah so sad people prefer HLL over PS :( HLL is so Arcady spawn die spawn die or maybe its just my taste and im used to playing PS so HLL looks like COD to me or BF.
I don't think it's fair to compare the two. I always see people criticising one game for not doing something that it wasn't supposed to do in the first place! People will say that HLL is better cuz the gameplay is more smooth and engaging - well, Post Scriptum's gameplay, coming from Project Reality and Squad isn't supposed to be smooth. It's supposed to be slow and clunky and a bit grueling at times to be more realistic. It's a pace some people (me) enjoy and some don't. It's like comparing KOTH servers to milsim ops in Arma. Or how people shit on HLL for not being realistic or being arcady - but that's the fucking point! It was supposed to be a semi-realistic, semi-arcadey game that the majority of gamers not used to milsim can enjoy. You can only really compare things like performance or graphics or dev involvement (and maybe map layout, but that's quite controversial I'd say) but gameplay wise it's surprisingly very different and for a reason.
@@buckplug2423 hey i know bro but PS is dying and i have 1.5K hours of total chaotic fun in that game. I will be one of those people who will keep on reminding the existence of post scriptum on hell let loose videos. I also cant find any other simulator with the sound design of post scriptum. Even its visuals are top noch, just the environment is poorer because its level design is poor. Both games are fine i just cant play HLL so im radical about PS xD
@@WolverineMKD You should try Project Reality. It has way worse graphics as it's a really really advanced BF2 mod (it uses its own engine now, but still) - I mean it isn't ugly, but definitely dated - and the sound design, while good, doesn't compare to PS. But gameplay wise and especially community wise it's very similar - I mean hell, Squad derives from it. And it's really really polished at this point, since it's been around since 2008 or maybe even 2005, don't recall now, and there's soooo much content on it - WWII, Vietnam, Chechen War, Palestine, Africa and a ton of modern fictional conflicts. Even the Falklands War. Not to mention a couple of insurgent factions for the Insurgency mode. Almost everybody uses a mic and there are a ton of good squad leaders who know their shit. And it's relatively active - around 100-200 in-game players with 100 man servers (which is my only gripe - often a server is full and there's nothing else). If that sounds like something you'd enjoy, give it a try - it's free and runs on a toaster.
I wish the CEO would say at least something. And I wonder what Offworld is doing? Are they doing anything behind the scenes... To me it really is the best WW2 Shooter/MilSim.
I really hope for this game to take a right turn. I actually bought this game before Squad, mostly because of Nano vids. Also I really like WW2 games (obviously). I sincerely hope that this game will get fixed and filled with a big fanbase. I like to belive that there be some big update with eastern or Pacific front that will be well advertised and it will bring back the playerbase. Also in my opinion Post Scriptum is in some aspects better than Hell Let Loose. I heard it have some problems with new owners so maybe that somehow affect Post Scriptum.
Really sad Post Scriptum was abandoned but that seems to be the trend of these squad like WW2 games. Really the only option right now is Hell Let Loose but even them are going through their own problems. Maybe its WW2 fatigue again? I hope they do a squad game in a different era maybe vietnam or something because right now the formula like games like these is a formula or FAILURE.

Running over a road with about 20 paratroopers and we're all just having a cozy chat, then the moment we went to cross an open field 2 MG 42's started lighting us up. Pitch black. Tracers everywhere. People screaming in local chat in confusion and I died moments later. Hell of an experience. Shame I got to this game so late.
It is strange when developers can't seem to objectively view the problems with the design. Ready Or Not is a perfect example of tunnel vision by the developers.
you either do everything your community wants and ruin your game ,or you dont listen to the community and ruin your game. game devs havent figured out that there is an inbetween.
@@selectionn the in between is the people with autism who can connect patterns where there shouldn't even be any. It's almost like we were build with a spectrum in our genes.
@@arandomcommenter412 It is good but lacks a few things that would make it a "perfect" follow up to Swat 3 or Swat 4. The game doesn't scale to how many players are in game in multiplayer. It is always filled with too many enemies in giant maps. It needs to give the players the ability to choose how many suspects and civilians there are in any given map. The single player command menu isn't in multiplayer so you can only give verbal commands on Voip to your team mates. Swat 3/4 had both. No AI officer backup in multiplayer if you don't have a full team of 5 players as officers. I personally don't like the magic doors that open both ways. Part of the greatness of Swat 3 was the fact that doors only opened one way (like real life) and it really matters what side your team stacked up on.

I would get me and my friends to work on it but we are ill experienced in unreal engine development and not to mention the rights to the game. Very sad thanks post scriptum for giving us the the fun times.
Very much agree with you on Gameplay decisions. I have always been of the mind that FPS sims have to be as realistic as possible. However I think either I am getting soft in my old age or I do feel now that you can keep a game realistic and most importantly realistic and faithful to time period, weapons, uniforms etc. But you have to bend at times to balance for fun and fairness as it is a video game in the end. Battlefield sacrifices to far one way and Arma the other for me at least. I feel somewhere in that part of the spectrum is a huge potential game.
Ngl i read goodbye and saw nano's name and felt really sad that i thought he was quitting youtube , but then i read the rest and felt a rush of relief and joy
If its a good match its a dirty brutal fight. If it's a bad one its a 10 min walk to get headshot because mobile spawns are in bad places/ squad lead didnt place a rally. (I havent played in months though so might have changed.)
I played Post-Scriptum for only like 40-60 hours, but I will forever remember it. The agonising caution with which I scrutated ALL the fucking bushes on the first hours... (to just die from some hidden german somehow) And the question that no other game I played yet has made me ask : "WHERE MUST I SHOOT, SIR ?"
i still remember how people in the closed beta complained on the PS discord that theyre PC with a 1080ti (top of the line GPU back then) and 32gb of Ram could not run the game bcs of a bug with the rendering that caused a massivie memory leak
This will in my opinion always be the greatest first-person shooter I have ever played. The camaraderie I felt leading those people in-game and teaching people how to get good will never leave my mind. It is so sad to see such a good dev team spilt apart like that and for what? We had a fine damn community. I really wanted to finish college and work for the dev team too! I always loved when you ran across a guy with the M1 and he hip fires all 8, misses you, and you just take a moment to aim and shoot him in the face with your kar98. or bayonet him, even better. damn this game will be missed. Me and the guys had a riot in this game regularly, hunting through the woods in arnhem, chasing after the roving armour with the piat, being utterly crap in a tank and getting annihilated, holding the hotel against all who came for us. Gold.
I bought this game because of one of your videos right after the US factions were introduced. Since then I have put over 1000 hours into PS and have loved (almost) every moment. It's really sad to see its demise.
This game is not dead, play it nearly every day. But the statement is correct. it do not have 50fully populated servers. it has maybe 3full at a weekend some partial filled, 1-2 in the week, and mostly evening/night. I will agree to not buy before you are are absulotly sure about it, but bring some friends if you do, becuse its really fun. You can play like a millsim or you can just vibe around and have fun. The community are still making maps and we have mods that fix some of the maps. If we the players stick around and play the game and have fun, the game will not die. if players give up and plays COD istead the game will for sure die. Its us the players who decide if the game is dead or not, not the devs, not random influensers, its we who play the game. If all of us that has the game will log in and play, we can fill the servers, we can make the publisher/dev belive in it again, we can change this. Maybe even make other publishers developers see that this game/genere is somthing to belive in. We have other games like it but I think PS has something more to offer then the other games. Problem of compering it to HLL, Enlisted, arma 3 mods, is that they are diffrent games based on differnt ideas. its like compering an apple to an orange, sure they are both fruits but so? *shameless plug: for more random content of PS, check out my and my friends channel @qebek*
From the few times I ever played Post Scriptum, it really is such a great game honestly. It was from this game that I eventually took to Squad to take my experiences further with the idea of playing in squads and it's been fun. While I know there's barely even a chance for this game to make a come back somehow, I'm still hoping atleast.
About your closing statement, particularly the second bit, I would think headshots would make sense putting players in an unrevivable state, as with dismemberment, but I think that particular point would work had they a lot more players, i.e. enough for 30-60 to steadily charge an objective, which would bring its own issues (unreasonable amount of corpses for one imo)... I figure dedicated logistic lines would also have been more useful in that situation, as the loss of them would mean far less players can join the charge or hold a point, as battles are prolonged and ground is captured and lost. I suppose it would then suffer the same issues with Planetside 2, and Zergs of people charging individual points across the map farming kills... I suppose the lethality of weapons, limited tickets, and an increased player-cap would have greatly enhanced gameplay as players would have to be far more strategic than in Planetside, and are greatly rewarded for the amount of accurate headshots they made. I figure the final improvement would be to limit the number of snipers, or have an in-game promotion system either based on time spent on a server or total game runtime (such as snipers moving up after or with the front line troops). Of course, the above is no more than my theory as to why some features are the way they are or what the devs might have planned, and my opinion on how the gameplay could have been improved with what features are already in it. Still it would need work, and I believe fervently that anything short of a IP buyout would not help to revive the game production. I bought the key for this from a reputable site for under $7, which is the only reason I bought it. I bought Arma 3 at either full or sale price, including most the dlcs; I am content with Arma being my main shooter game, hence why I never bought this one or Squad (which is still near full price on the site I use, if not 20 dollars more lol). I do plan on buying Squad and Hell Let Loose, as well as several other shooters, but playability and enjoyment are questionable variables while financial variables are far more uncompromising at present.

This was my go-to shooter for over two years. 326 hours isn't as much as some of my games, but I was working two jobs for the bulk of owning it. Whenever I felt like actually interacting with real humans, that was the game I loaded up. CSGO's public lobbies used to be fun and full of people shitting around, but they just aren't the same anymore. PS was serious, but also had good gameplay and good people. Then the game started bugging out all the time when I tried to load it up. The lag became unbearable. They never fixed the glitch where you can't shoot out windows while aiming slightly to the side, making it all but impossible to be an effective sniper/machine gunner in urban combat. Just a whole bunch of stupid little things that culminated in the dev team being canned for these people who simply do not care. It says a lot that you can find more populated servers in Insurgency Sandstorm ONE (1) than in a much newer WW2 shooter. BattleBits is my new FPS. The community is amazing and the gameplay is wonderfully campy. Hope to see you there. RIP Post Scriptum.

@@alejochol9397 oh yeah, i know about the supposed new team of experienced developers and all that. The game is a fucking gem but somehow they manage to take some really stupid decisions:(
Trust me it will go down that route… I already stopped because of all the super annoying bugs. The k98 not shooting for example that has been in the game for almost a year now….
I tried HLL but i can play it because im so used to post scriptum...
Man I have over 1000hrs in this game and it’s one of the few games where I do not regret playing it that much at all, I either remember matches that were so intense where every push and defence counted, with such amazing squad communication. Or it was a hilarious fuckfest of gore and ridiculous antics. Man I’m going to miss this game. RIP.
Post scriptum is literally THE BEST WWII shooter ever, it saddens me so much that I cant stop thinking about it, its like a family member passed away and theres constant memories in my head that i cant get rid of, hell let loose cant even come close to what PS delivered, Rest In Peace Post Scriptum, i hope someday you will be renewed 🙏😔😔
What happened to it?
@@copperhead6132 the game used to have an amazing amount of players, enough to have huge battles and even bayonet charges, now the game is literally dead, well, some people do occasionally play, but the amount of players have dropped so badly it's just such a waste of a beautiful game
07 post scriptum, you will be missed
Its officially back everyone, Acquired by OWI and back to life
I have so many fond memories of this game. Literal days spent playing this. HLL basically replaced this and although the graphics were better in HLL the gameplay is much more solid in PS. Also this game still has the best sound design I've ever heard.
Post Scriptum was a masterpiece and suffered from no marketing.
That and no optimization, that is why I stopped playing.
We are back in business boy!!!
HELL FUCKIN YEEEAAAAH
As a WWII enthusiast in the history of it, along with books, movies, even toys, and especially the video games, it's a hobby/interest I love to a day-to-day basis.
Post Scriptum will be a game that I'll never forget, one of the best WWII games I played.
Especially when playing the Airborne maps and D-Day. The memories and excitement that rushed through my veins when I played it, learning from a simple foot soldier, to tanks, logistics, and squad leading.
It was this game that got me into Squad as well.
But once I heard the news on the Dev team being laid off, it was heartbreaking. This game with surely be missed for me.❤❤❤
Rip best ww2 game. It was so fun when it was alive. Its so much better than hell let loose.
They are both owned by the same devs. I wonder why the competition died
@@TheJadedWolfLadCEO decided to be cool and kicked all PS dev team
They have different devices and publishers. PS is made by Periscope Games and published by Offworld Industries. HLL was developed by black matter who sold it to team17.
It’s okay to be wrong.
@@Celebana what
Post Scriptum will be one of those games that you will never forget.
With the friends/clans that you've meet along the way.
Was epic.
Echoes of the past 😢
man i spent 1k hours on this game, i was in a team it was such good times. I'm so sad it ended up like that. I remember 2020 when the chapter 3 got released it was insane
I would love to see the devs gift this game to the community to own and maintain.
That would be truly something.
OWI purchased the rights to this game and it's coming back!
POST SCRIPTUM DON'T DIE ON ME, I HAVEN'T BOUGHT YOU YET
It sucks that Post Scriptum lost to Hell Let Loose seeing as Post Scriptum is better in every conceivable way.
Obviously not in the sells department.
yeah so sad people prefer HLL over PS :( HLL is so Arcady spawn die spawn die or maybe its just my taste and im used to playing PS so HLL looks like COD to me or BF.
Because i know people are playing hell let loose more, because of PS bad marketing, mostly noone knows of its existence(PS), and those who do go in PS see empty servers and jump to HLL.
Just sad.
Same
I really hope for this game to take a right turn.
Yes Periscope definitely lacked a big marketing campaign. They had a few promotional videos that were so fucking cool but not much exposure, sadly.
now the best part is beginning the player base will take over
Love your vids Nano, keep up the good work! ❤
offworld from squad has now completely taken over the development of the game now. itll be revived soon my friend
Yeah someone should start making a Vietnam or Cold War tactical shooter. There are many other conflicts to exploit. There are more and more failed and stalled WW2 games.
Hll isn't only option there is enlisted, rising storm 1, and best ww2 game ever Red orchestra which is still alive
@@mrmakhno3030 we already had a vietnam squad-like FPS. it failed already a while ago. Rising Storm Vietnam was the name. Fun game but its pretty much dead.
also day of infamy is another ww2 game that died, to add to the list.
I love you Nano keep up the good work ❤
There's "abandoned by the devs" and then there's "the devs were quietly fired"
this game did a good job with the particle effects when things get shot, looks so good with the dust and small debris flying everywhere from bullet impacts.
RIP Post Scriptum - it was one of the few games that got me through 2020 during Covid and had a lot of great experiences in it that I still remember to this day. It's always tragic when a game gets abandoned, especially one with a passionate player base.
IT'S COMING BACK ❤ Better and stronger than ever, Can't wait to see the road map for 2024
personally i always thought that the canteen being used to refill stamina was a good feature because you have to walk so much. i kinda wish quad had it ngl
Last time I checked Squad had constant stamina recover 3x that of PS WITH canteen used, so not really needed. In PS you killed yourself if you ran out of canteen, had a long way to go and there was no resupply close.
never felt so emotional reading a video title from nano
The worst part is this isnt the only gane to suffer such a fate
Beyond the Wire pretty much died at arrival
@@SmokeDog1871 except the devs wherent fired they legit just took the money from initial sales and whent on vacation for a month and said fuck the game
@@thetrav2100 Where did you learn this? Or is it just trust me bro ?
@@WolverineMKD id rather not name names lol but now that i think about it, they maybey did get fired after they pulled that stunt idk who the bosses boss is or any of that i just know somebody that knows the story
I remember my first experience in this game was when the game was populated at 2 in the morning (UK) and I came across an American server. Jumped in. Immediately full.
9:14 That line is biblical, but i have a funny feeling it comes from a war movie as well.
Really glad to see more people trying to get post scriptum a try again. It needs playerbase reboot.
Campfire games are good devs, they still understand what they need to do
What’s wrong with ready or not? I wanted to buy it sometime in the future.
NANO, Post Scriptum got handed to another company! Its coming back! YEAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH!!!!
Pick up that phone, because I called it.

i remember how i preordered this game for highest price but on launch on lowest graphic settings i had like 20 fps when newest bf was stable 60 on ultra. but yeah that didnt stop people from telling me i have bad pc
Nano I love watching your videos! You make me crack up so hard
sad to see this go, i remember buying it on my old laptop when seeing it get shown to the public for the first time and played it ever sice till recently on my pc. i even convinced friends to get this in lockdown and had extreme fun in tanks. you will be missed
I really hope one day some new dev will pick it up and revive it, change the direction its going in because I can only see this game lasting maybe another year maybe two. It is one of the best ww2 fps games ever made. Ive had some great times on it. I would get me and my friends to work on it but we are ill experienced in unreal engine development and not to mention the rights to the game. Very sad thanks post scriptum for giving us the the fun times.
If it goes how many other games go modders will fix it like they did with Northstar for Titanfall or People recreating old games in general
I hopped on to Post Scriptum this past week. There was only one server that was full. The one had one person on. It’s sad too see it.
Ngl i read goodbye and saw nano's name and felt really sad that i thought he was quitting youtube , but then i read the rest and felt a rush of relief and joy
one of the saddest deaths of a game. so much potential gone :(
I never played both but for me Post Scriptum looks more fun than Hell let loose. The sounds, the brutality. It is more immersive I feel.
Post scriptum is way less arcady than hell let loose yes. People also communicate much more.
If its a good match its a dirty brutal fight. If it's a bad one its a 10 min walk to get headshot because mobile spawns are in bad places/ squad lead didnt place a rally. (I havent played in months though so might have changed.)
that sniper shot on the dude in the 2nd floor window, felt different, like a movie, augh (pufferfish noises)
Its such a tragedy what happened to this gem of a game. We can only hope that something just as big if not better takes its place.
Post Scriptum is a beautiful name.
My heart hurts man
2:03 tbh that's some clean ass saving private ryan scene right there where u predicting where could the tiger's turret is be rotating at

Hello Post Scriptum! We're baaaack!
well , i want to cry loud
Post Scriptum is back and with sht ton of players :D
I completely agree with the notes at the end of the video. Now I just wish we had a WW2 mod for Squad, like PS was originally meant to be.
I love your delivery.
I never got to play this before it more or less died.
Been playing Hell Let Loose
11:35 wtf just hit him lol
You a great man Nano
Nano vids are the best way to start the wknd
0:27 and 8:20 are my favorite parts the first one was straight up hilarious "give us cover fire" gets shot by his teammates
I played Post-Scriptum for only like 40-60 hours, but I will forever remember it. The agonising caution with which I scrutated ALL the fucking bushes on the first hours... (to just die from some hidden german somehow)
And the question that no other game I played yet has made me ask : "WHERE MUST I SHOOT, SIR ?"
i still remember how people in the closed beta complained on the PS discord that theyre PC with a 1080ti (top of the line GPU back then) and 32gb of Ram could not run the game
bcs of a bug with the rendering that caused a massivie memory leak
My building is completely surrounded......uh oh
Nano sounds like he's ahout to fall asleep half the time
I also feel that HLL is also pixel hunting too, my eyes hurt after an hour of it too.
5:21 perfect
This will in my opinion always be the greatest first-person shooter I have ever played. The camaraderie I felt leading those people in-game and teaching people how to get good will never leave my mind. It is so sad to see such a good dev team spilt apart like that and for what? We had a fine damn community. I really wanted to finish college and work for the dev team too! I guess I will post this in the hopes that it will inspire anyone to take on what this game left us. 10/10 thanks for the fun.
It’s a shame I never got to play this game man.. I always wanted to build a PC so I can experience this game since I got to play HLL on PS5. I’m glad everyone else at least got to have those awesome memories
I loved Post Scriptum, it was a dream come true for me with the WW2 realism it portrayed. I just dont have time to play anymore.
this is the best comeback I've ever heard yet XD 6:20
i still remember watching the trailers in 2017 like it was yesterday. this is a game I'll remember forever for sure.
Gold.
F.
Damn
There's one server for Australia and I don't even know if it's populated at all anymore :( very sad times
I love when Nano adds freeze-frames of incoming projectiles
LETS GO NANOOO!!!
WOOF WOOF WOOF WOOF
always a good day when Nano uploads
I’m so glad I got to enjoy this game from the beginning to end. Still my favorite over hell let loose
This video is probably going to age like milk, since Post Scriptum finally has developers working on the game
"If something changes"
War never changes....
