- With Major League Fishing Bass Pro Tour cutting their field to 65 anglers next year, who is currently in for 2025? Which anglers make the Top 45 in AOY standings, and who are the other 15 anglers who make it in because of their 2024 season? And last, if James Watson wouldn't have been kicked out, would he make the 2025 season with the BPT? That's what we are going to look at in this video.

I have also been following Matt Stefan even before he came to BPT. I really hope he makes it into next year. I like his content and his delivery.
He’s right there I believe. Having said that, he needs to have a good final tournament to make it in. But things can change at any tournament. Cheers and tight lines!!
@@GetUrFishOnNo first year mulligan for the rookies? 😂
@@TangierFly Matt does deserve it. Cheers and tight lines!!
Absolutely agree!
Matt and the rookies kind of got a raw deal. He makes it then they change it. They should give them at least 2 years to establish some kind of an average.
MLF could be the best. Their is but they are running it in the ground I love their live coverage and weigh and release
I think they have the best coverage, and this year has been awesome to watch several tournaments. But they change to often. Thanks for the comment. Cheers and tight lines!!
I also like their catch and immediate release. Better for the bass than carrying five in a live well all day. And more exciting watching live than waiting for the end of the day weigh-in, in my opinion.
Followed the whole Watson deal since I was recovering from knee surgery. He was un-happy and pushed it to the limits. The FBD hats and stickers were a slam at Boyd. He went on podcasts badmouthing BPT. It cost him some big sponsor money. Then in the end he was on a podcast saying he tried to make up with Cathy Fennel but it was to late. Luckily he is well off because of his realestate business. Been following him building a mansion beside his other one.
The sad thing these days is all the news about fishing is negative. Seems every podcast is about drama. The young kids are getting singled out by the old timers. The old timers are mad because the kids got good using Live Scope.
Keep your podcasts coming I enjoy the content.
Thanks for the comment. JW wasn't happy with my assessment on the whole thing, mostly that I thought this was the biggest thing that happened in his career, which I still think it was. I think he should be able to say what he wants, but also has to understand that it can come back to bite him in the ass, which it did. If he apologized, then that's a good thing. His merch line has done well I think. In an upcoming video, I talk about how unfortunately, bass fishing is boring. So the drama is what people want to hear and click on. I know this first hand. The new anglers knowing livescope is gonna happen from here on out, and it stinks. But the little changes that could happen, aren't going to make the vet anglers that much happier. The industry is in such a weird place. Thanks for the comment. Cheers and tight lines!!
Great videos and Insights for the community. 🎣
Thanks brother, hope you’re doing well.
I still want to know where the 30 are going to end up along with all the college anglers, there isnt enough room for everyone or enough lakes
I think, and I could be wrong, but some will go to the invitationals and others will go to the Opens. Cheers and tight lines!!
I've been concerned about Mark Daniels Jr. He has had a rough year.
I think he makes it without issue, but this year and 2021 were his worst two year of the six, and that helps. He finished with an average, as of right now, at 21.25. Cheers and tight lines!!
So the house of 4 should stay intact!
@@TangierFly Yeah that house is SOLID. The house of four helping each other is not going anywhere. Wheelers average finish with two years remove was 1.25!!! Insane!!
All of my STAR guys made the cut it seems. I wonder how many IN guys will say "thanks but no thanks" allowing cut guys the chance. I wonder how long after the last event finishes that we see their IN/OUT list on MLF?
I think, and I could be wrong, but the anglers know where they stand right now. I think MLF will wait until the Invitationals are done to release the field. But they should do it immediately. Cheers and tight lines!!
Appears Matt Stefan is in trouble after only one season, even though he’s won $30,000. He currently qualifies for the Heavy Hitters. Will he still be allowed to fish that in 2025 if he doesn’t qualify for the BPT? Maybe he’ll have a good event on the St. Lawrence.
Yes, he can fish it. Jordan Lee fished in Redcrest this year even though he left MLF and went to BASS.
I think he will be allowed to fish the Heavy Hitters because KVD and Jordan Lee qualified and weren't in the BPT and fished this year. Matt, and I could be wrong, is 12 points behind David Walker and 48 points out of the last place of those 15, and that's LeFebre. And Matt is a great angler but he needs an amazing final tournament. Cheers and tight lines!!
You do know that the 1st man out will be haunted by Drew Gill dropping out of the Invitationals and not making the top 5....
I hope not. I think what Drew did was awesome and a respectable. Cheers and tight lines!!
@@GetUrFishOn well it was his choice, to help an Invitationals angler or a BPT angler….someone is left out
Watson should roll over to BASS with the others.
I think he might be fishing a few of the opens, but qualifying for the Elites is beyond tough, and in no one does that mean he couldn't qualify, but it's TOUGH TOUGH. Cheers and tight lines!!
If I recall correctly, James was suspended through December 2025. Therefore, he wouldn't be eligible until the 2026 season
.
Yeah JW can't go back until 2025, but I wanted to know if he would qualify in case things were much different. Cheers and tight lines!!
Watson, the second goat FBD 😁
To a lot of people he is one of the goats. LOL Cheers and tight lines!!
My angler didnt make it, he retired the goat hot out before the circuits collapse
LOL KVD makes it without any issues. Cheers and tight lines!!
✌️
Cheers and tight lines!!
Does the 2 yr mean duckett qualify? Why dont these circuits do a 1 yr thing you have a bad year see ya. Mlf is so confusing
MLF is SO CONFUSING. Boyd doesn't make it. I think after this year, it might go to 1 year. Putting that whole thing together made my little brain hurt. Cheers and tight lines!!
Lol James who? Lol
Don't go there....LOL I will catch more heat. Cheers and tight lines!!
@@GetUrFishOn I’d bet dollars to donuts he not only watched the video but read EVERY comment. I mean it ain’t like he’s fishing derbies
@@FunkE.Fisherman maybe. I know after that one video he was commenting on my views, and dming me some really nice and appropriate things. lol cheers bro!!
The locals hate Watson. Total AH.
I can understand that. I think he is very popular with a lot of people, and he's a huge personality. Thanks for comment. Cheers and tight lines!!
MLF is so ridiculously LAME.
I respect your opinion. Cheers and tight lines!!
It's getting that way!
Anybody care about this dude?
No one does, but it’s okay. Thanks for the comment!! Cheers!!
Boyd Wheeler has really Ducketted Up alot of Pro Anglers careers...sold them all some snake oil.
The anglers who won't qualify will fish the Invitationals or Opens. They will have to requalify. Cheers and tight lines!!
