Zaldain was awful. People have said he was fined, but I haven't seen anything saying, but that would surprise me. Chris was WAY WRONG!! Cheers and tight lines!!
@@sfmedicsmith777Listen I think Zaldain was in the wrong but do you actually know what your talking about like at all? Zaldain is not even one of those FFS guys , I don’t think he is actually for it at all. In fact I know for sure he thinks all the money needed for all these electronics is ridiculous. Not trying to show you up but, come on now if you’re gonna state something actually know what you’re talking about before hand otherwise you look like Randy Blauket just saying bullshit with no facts to back it.
Wheeler is known for stealing anglers spots. He is completely wrong for his actions yesterday and I have lost all respect for him. That's what happens when you know you are the best and think you own the water. He is always crying like a baby and thinking he is the only one who can find fish and every one is watching him. No other angler ever purposely watched him and took his spot. Glad he was finally seen on live for being who he really is. No other pro would ever act like him.
@@stevoky Assuming you are correct, what did he do when he had the opportunity to do the RIGHT thing? He did what my 8-year-old granddaughter would do. I am just disappointed. Not mad or angry just expected more out of grownups.
Later in the day Shuffield commented that he had a spot way back up a creek but there were already a couple guys in there and it was too narrow for him to get to his spot without bothering them, so he left. THAT’S how it’s supposed to work. I was not a Wheeler hater in the past, but this incident is bush league and I can’t see myself rooting for him in the future.
After listening to Wheeler’s explanation today I understand where he was coming from. Having said that, I still think it was wrong on his end. And I’ll use his explanation to explain. He said Matt saw him fishing that spot on day 1 and came back to fish it. Fine. But if all is fair in love and war, and tournament bass fishing, then if it’s okay to block your honey hole, it’s absolutely okay to fish a spot that you see another angler fishing. The water is owned by no one.
I saw the same thing. I think Jacob was defending that spot, but Becker had been fishing that area also all week. I'll say, the spot didn't produce for Wheeler in the Knockout round so maybe a little karma hit him. Cheers and tight lines!!
I like wheeler a lot but he was wrong. My issue is how these guys play professional courtesy with each other but not with locals. A couple years ago I was on a bedding flat on Toho. When the fog lifted, the boats were released and 3 of them came in on plane to the flat I was on and cut me off. Not kidding, they were all within casting distance of me. I was pissed enough that I cranked up and circled all 3 on plane right around the beds which spooked the few fish off that they didn’t already scare off. Money makes people act stupid.

yep just like u said... they know each others places on the standings... i think wheeler did it cuz of avena was in 10th place personally... since becker was aoty last year he a threat to overtake avena at the cutline... granted idk what happened if becker or avena or neither went on to fish another day or not... i dont keep track of those things
@@GetUrFishOn Don't believe this, maybe just maybe if DC was on the bubble. If he was going to do it for Mark or Adrian, I doubt he would have been so open and flagrant about it. You are so mixed up it’s not even funny. And how quickly you forget about what Becker did to Wheeler last season. Wheeler did no wrong here. If you know the details behind it, which you obviously don’t, neither did wrong.
That’s the problem with score tracker. Becker realized Wheeler caught a majority of his weight there and Becker didn’t find the juice but was about too and basically steal some of Wheeler’s future fish. Becker didn’t do this because Wheeler blocked him. They talked afterwards. In my opinion no one is in wrong here.
Idk, I just watched Wheeler’s Instagram story and his story he said is pretty accurate. He was 150 yards away from him when he rolled up, he power poled down and was fishing one specific spot. Then Becker worked closer to Wheeler. And by the sounds of it, Becker saw Wheeler previously catch fish right there. So idk. Should Wheeler recognize where he is on the leader board and just give the spot to Becker? Maybe. But after that round all the weights zero and Wheeler has a tournament to win. 🤷🏼♂️ I don’t think what he did was totally out of hand but he could’ve just gave up the spot to be nice. This confrontation really seems to be blown out of proportion just like everything else so people can get views on TH-cam from “drama”.
I can respect your comment. I think there are always two sides to the story, but having a video helps Matt in this case. Jacob really wasn't fishing, he was blocking the hole. Cheers and tight lines!!
@@GetUrFishOn your are right he was blocking. In the video you can clearly see he was well past the yardage of being too close to come in on a guy fishing (min 75 yards). Especially when it’s on a flat they are fishing. Tournament Fishing isnt a polite sport. He shouldnt have to be nice. Idk where people get this notion. This has never been the case in professional fishing. Please look back at the “gentleman” era and see that anglers were doing all they could to win. He had every right to do what he did. And I don’t care you does this/if this happened to Wheeler. Defending a spot is super common in fishing. Well besides tournaments where it is only the “boys” fishing and everything is not actual tournament settings. But besides the point. Serious tournament anglers will agree that this happens all the time. And the people complain about it only when it happens to them. Me, I know it’s part of the game and role with it. If Becker didn’t have any other spots to fish. That is his fault at the end of the day.
@@jasonallen9456 Just keep paying attention to Wheeler and remeber this when something like this happens to him. I can assure you he will handle it much different and with less class.
Yes sir! And how quickly people forget about what Becker did to Wheeler last season. Wheeler did no wrong here. If you know the details behind it, neither did wrong.
I think MLF needs to limit the info the anglers have access to in regards to the leader board during the round. They should only be told how much weight they have, and what place they are in. This could possibly eliminate issues like the Wheeler/Becker deal. Wheeler knowing that Becker was super close to the cut line, and if he caught some fish there and made the cut, he would have to battle Becker for the spot come the next round. Also, even though Wheeler addressed it, he potentially could have been playing defense for his friend Adrian, he was only 2lbs up in 10th. Not knowing where any specific person stands during the round would eliminate any chance of collusion.
That is a great idea. While I think it helps with the drama, it also helps anglers seek out others possibly, and I am not saying that happened here. He was playing defense for sure. Cheers and tight lines!!
Saying Becker hadn't caught a scoreable on that spot doesn't give him the right to run in and block him. He even admitted he saw Becker there days before. Wheeler talked like Becker didn't know about the tree but Becker told him specifically he had a way point on that tree. Wheeler would be pissed if it had happened to him.
Absolutely correct. Wheeler stole that spot from Becker on day one. He has been doing it all year and some people are so stupid to see it. Wheeler stole Drew Gill spot on Dale Hollow and won. Did not deserve that one at all. Don't know if Becker or Gill being rookies are the ones that would fix Wheeler bottom lip for good or not but eventually Wheeler will cross the wrong angler
I really don’t think Wheeler is fully to blame here; Becker saw him fishing there earlier in the tournament and was only fishing there because he saw Wheeler catching fish there…..Wheeler explained in his video that he was just trying to get on that spot and save it for the next round….he was 100+ yards away from Becker. If he was closer or tried to move in on where Becker’s boat was then I agree
You are so mixed up it’s not even funny. And how quickly you forget about what Becker did to Wheeler last season. Wheeler did no wrong here. If you know the details behind it, which you obviously don’t, neither did wrong.
@@GetUrFishOn For me personally, it would depend if the tourney angler was respectful in "asking" me to give him the spot, I'll give him the spot and say thank you. If you just pull up and cut me off, I'll keep fishing on through him if need be. FOOK him or her!
It sounds like there was some controversy during that event! Fishing etiquette can be a hot topic among anglers. It's generally expected that anglers give each other space and respect on the water. Things like "hole sitting" and blocking are often frowned upon because they can create tension and disrupt the enjoyment of everyone involved. Common courtesy plays a big role in maintaining harmony on the water, but sometimes competition can get intense, especially in tournaments. Finding a balance between competition and respect for fellow anglers' space is key to fostering a positive fishing experience for everyone.
Hole sitting is illegal. Blocking and protecting a spot isn’t illegal. Please don’t group those two terms together please. Been part of fishing since the beginning of fishing. Social media cry babies are blowing this way out of proportion. For instance, it would be not ok if an angler stopped three docks from of another angler to fish. But on a big flat like the one in the video you only need 1-200 yards to give some space to someone else on the flat. And to be honest that isn’t given in most tournaments from weekend tournaments to pro tournaments.
@jasonallen9456 If Jacob goes into that spot, puts down his powerpole, doesn't grab a rod to fish and sits into a spot, that isn't hole sitting? He might have grabbed a rod to look like he was fishing, but he wasn't. He says it in the video. Blocking or protecting or hole sitting in this case is all the same in my book. Thanks for the comment. Cheers and tight lines!!
I have to say, I was very disappointed in Jacob and his actions. I have known Matt for a number of years so my viewpoint might be a little bias and I am not surprised how he handled it. As we see more and more these days that money can make folks do strange things. I'm sure this was probably made a bigger deal since it is all over social media and these two guys will move past it and concentrate on the next event. I guess we as fans just expect a little more.
Yeah, we expect more, but a lot of the time don't get it. Wheeler has ALWAYS been amazing to me, other than not replying to texts....getting ghosted makes me mad.... but he was wrong here. Hope your doing well. Cheers and tight lines!!
This one I don't fully agree with this one. 2 min prior to the start of your video clip, Becker said he was going to leave. Becker wasn't going to advance. He had just caught a small fish that moved him from 18th to 12th, but he had not caught anything else in the prior hour or so. Wheeler was going to advance an did cover that spot checking for Saturday's rd and protectibng it. Becker was about 70 -100 yds away off that point and had been there a while (as seen in the coverage and commentary). When Wheeler pulled them Becker moved towards him. In the 5 fish format fandom everybody would say "oh cede to the leader". Supposedly Wheeler posted an IG comment on his perspective of the encounter.. I haven't seen it since I don't really go IG. I don't think the incident was as bad as the MLF Haters club and 'Zaldaingathangs' claim.
This is NOT as bad as the Zaldain, and I had an amazing, (if I might say so) thumbnail for Zaldain, but then decided not to do the video. Caught enough crap from the couple haters. I looked for the Wheeler IG video but have not found it. I felt like he was heading in that direction and Wheeler came in on him a distance away and hole sat. I respect your view as always, and can see your side too. Cheers and tight lines!!
Can we please make a correction on this “hole sitting” statement. That action is illegal period. And was not what Wheeler was doing. If you want to have that in your thumbnail for view that’s one thing but please make a distinction. Hole sitting is not what he was doing. Defense of a spot isn’t illegal . This happens in all tournaments from weekend to Professional tours. This has happened to me and I have done this. It isn’t something that is uncommon. If we are going to be real the only flippin reason this is being talked about is because it is Wheeler. Facts
@@jimsabin897 do you know hole sitting is illegal my guy in any tournament format. Just look up what hole sitting rule is and I’ll wait for your apology. Thanks have a good day
I love your channel, but unfortunately this is something practiced by so many anglers. Weekend to pros. It happens now and has happened before social media was a thing. The only reason this is being talked about is it involves Wheeler who is the best, or at worst top 5 angler in the world. Plan and simple
Where will they learn etiquette from? Dad baiting a hook in a tin boat discussing manners and decency? Or from the daycare operator who ignores them while mom and dad work full time to pay for the bass cat with all the screens? If youre 18 and rich and know how to play video games, youre an elite angler. 5:03
can you do me a favor ???? it's easy for u I'm sure I notice some pros now don't have poles or talons I seen matt Roberson don't I understand spot lock helps more now but here my question can u find out what pro not using them ???
It appears that Wheeler came in on him to hole sit. I mean if they both found it Whata gonna do??? Mat was there first for that day and Wheeler didn’t even need it. In my opinion I think the right thing for Jacob to do is to let Mat have that spot the since he didn’t need and and Mat was there first that day.
Being ahead by that much and making a move like that, Wheeler was definitely wrong there. I love watching Jacob, and I can see if he were in a certain situation doing something like that would make sense, but he wasn’t even close to that situation.
People getting mad at Wheeler, do you know that every fishing angler has done this at one time or another? You know it’s highly possible that they both share the same spot. It happens all the time a different lakes. All they should do is fish next to each other and share it.
So it sounds to me like Jacob thought that Matt “bent poled” him from the jump ; and if that is true and only if that is true, then I don’t blame JW for defending his spot. If they both found it fair and square, he likely would have been better served to allow Matt to slide in and catch what it offered and perhaps the favor would be returned in the future. The way it went down, I doubt there will be any favors coming to Jacob from Matt or his crew. I hate that this happened because I actually like both anglers and hold them in high regard . Not a huge deal, but not the best look either. JW took a page out of Biffle’s handbook on this occasion!
This happens a lot. They should have rules against one angler cutting off or moving in or otherwise trying to disrupt another angler. Don’t count on self discipline or ethics. Many don’t have any ethics and will do anything the rules allow and many times they break the rules. The money involved makes them a totally different person.
@@scottfrazier131 you know nothing. Becker had that tree marked on his GPS in practice before Wheeler even found it. If anything Wheeler stole it from him which is is well known for doing now and continues to cry like a baby that people do it to him. If he is so good then he wouldn't have to worry about other people. Complete asshole.
I read the MLF rules. There is no rules on cutting someone off and no rules on distance. Becker should have tied up next to Wheeler and matched him cast for cast. Wheeler was trying to save fish for the next day. He doesnt own the river or the fish in the river. He went to far. If we thought Forward Facing Sonar changed the game. Wait until other MLF pros start parking on top of and next to other pros to defend their spot or keep them from catching fish so another buddy can get ahead.
@@GetUrFishOnI agree that wheeler was wrong. He used the rules to his advantage. If I’m ever on a lake that wheels is on, I’ll follow him all day and pull between him and the fish. MLF is going to have to change their rules.
Did you see Wheeler's post with his explanation? I saw it. I get what he was thinking. I guess it depends on what kind of fish are there. It was a little harsh, but $100k will make you do all kinds of stuff, even though he doesn't need it. His explanation made it a little better for me, but I agree that he should have just let him go one through there like he did in practice. Thanks Steve!!!
I mean does anyone expect a bunch of pro spotlighters to care about etiquette or have integrity? They don't even respect the fish enough to catch them honestly.
Another non-issue it happens all the time.. but of course the social media moral police will be out in full force calling Wheeler a dirt bag.. its all part the game pro anglers play...
I am in no way calling Jacob any names EVER. I have known him for some time and he has always, except ghosting me, always been nice and respectfully. And one of the best anglers I have interviewed. Cheers and tight lines!!
My question/statmen (not to be rude) first and foremost is that if anyone in the comments doesn’t tournament fish on a regular basis or for some type of tour, their options are based off of opinions that hold no water in a tournament setting. Especially when anglers are fishing for a boat/big money. This is going to make some of the people here mad but it’s the truth. Tournament scenes are much different than casual weekend/pot tournaments with the boys. Protecting a spot happens all the time in fishing. It isn’t illegal and will never become illegal. And there is a minimum distance you can fish/come in on someone for a reason in the rules. Neither one of them did anything wrong. Becker was probably a bit upset that he couldn’t fish a spot he knew Wheeler was/had caught them in the tournament. This is being blown up for no freaking reason.
Your right in many ways, but in a sport that is 'boring' to watch, the little things are the stuff that people want to see. Jacob is allowed to do what he did, but is that the right thing? We can't put anglers on a pedestal, but hold them to the same things weekend anglers and fan have to do. Respect all your comments! Cheers and tight lines!!
This is why tournament fishing is getting ridiculous. The reason the flights for each day change the order in which they leave is to allow anglers to go to spots they might not be able to get to because an angler leaving earlier than them get to a spot first. Both anglers followed the rules. Wheeler got to the spot first and Becker stayed the required distance away from Wheeler's boat. Becker should have never said anything to Wheeler. You are pulling up to a spot to fish and a boat is sitting there you move on to another spot. What really makes fisherman angry is when tournament anglers just come in on top of non-tournament anglers and just act like they have some right to the fishing spot because they are in a tournament.
And you didn't say that wheeler was fishing there first and he left and he has a right to come back if he wants to if you're fishing at a spot someone sees you catch them there and then tries to go there that's what happened
Back in the day if someone would had done this to a Tommy Biffle or Denny they would had an ass chewing all the way back to the boat ramp. Bass fishing has turned into a calamity!
What do you think about Trey now after having his catch disqualified for getting info ? Trait wasn’t as far off as you thought because you know what they say, if you will do it one time then you probably have done it before
Wheeler should have been DQd no question. It doesn’t matter who fished where before. It only matters who is there first. If Jacob fished there all week and then he gets there and someone else is there. (Turny guy are local) then it’s their spot. End of discussion. Nobody owns any part of the water. First come first serve. I was a wheeler fan but not anymore. I would’ve fished right in front of him between him and his magic tree.
I don't know if DQ isn't to harsh, but he's hopefully heard from enough people that it won't happen again, but competing for money makes things hard. Cheers and tight lines!!
@@GetUrFishOn true I was probably a little harsh. Maybe like a 1 hour late start after the last boat leaves. That would make sure he didn’t beat anyone to a hot spot. I know that’s teach me a lesson lol.
This is very disappointing to see Wheeler do this. I’ve been a Wheeler fan before he won his first big event. He cut Becker off. Now I’ve lost some respect for Wheeler. I would have no problem with Becker continuing forward and fishing the spot. I understand protecting a spot but get there first or wait until they’re done if you don’t need the fish that day. I’ve also seen guys move in on Wheeler and fish out his spot while he was there. That was complete BS. And those were big names that did that.
Lets hope not, but he was defending his spot. I'm sure others know the spot, but don't know if they would get the same treatment Becker did. Cheers and tight lines!!
You obviously don't know what really happened at Cayuga last year. 24 guys were guilty of catching same fish more than once in the same day and it was all completely legal according to MLF rules and what they were told at beginning of that tournament. Becker did it on one fish after seeing everyone else doing it and passing him up on score tracker. Perfectly legal. All but one passed detector test. Wheeler lost his season fair and square at Saginaw Bay cause he flat out didn't catch them. Probably because of his over rated boat couldn't handle the rough water like the Phoenix can.
@@gbass321 Thanks for the knowledge. I did know about Cayuga, but I'm getting old. I think this happens all the time, but this time we got to see it. The spot dried up, and Wheeler didn't make the Championship round. Thank you!! Cheers and tight lines!!
I think these guys, the good ones, realize getting spun out for the day isn’t good and keep their cool. I couldn’t do it. Wheeler was wrong. Just cut Becker off obviously and he easily could have had a conversation before moving in there.
Its way simpler why wheeler did that. Reason wheeler why playing them game is because avena was on the cut line. Wheeler was blocking trying save his friend from getting cut. It had nothing to do with wheeler getting to next round.
Y’all need to actually watch the whole thing quit nit picking Becker fished it first didnt catch anything Jacob rolls up there catches some off of it Matt watches Jacob catch fish there next day Becker decides to try it again wheeler went to defend what he felt like was the winning spot both anglers found the spot in practice and only one knew how to catch them. The equivalent of you saying Jacob should of let him fish that spot is like saying you gonna give your opponent a 20 point lead it a competition not a everyone gets a trophy event even if you lost. Grow up he was protecting a spot he like Becker did the same thing to wheeler last year it’s part of the sport get over it move on. Stop trying to make something out of nothing
Funny thing is, that wheeler only does that to certain anglers..He would not do that to someone like KVD, Iaconelli, Ish Monroe or Gerald Swindle because they would put his ass in place real quick and continue to fish that line they were on..I have fished with all of them and jacob would never try that crap with me..

Wheeler definitely should not have pulled up when in the cut, let Becker get some fish and make the cut. Out of line for Jacob. How about Trey McKinney missing the time by 7 minutes and losing 7lbs. He caught an enormous bag on Smith over 16 lbs. that penalty cost him to move from 2nd to out of the cut. Unbelievable, he even said he was at the weigh in early but lost track of time. Ouch!! Looks like to me he was saving his fish for the next round or maybe Matt seen him fishing there Previously. These guys need to understand that’s all apart of the game at a highest level. Anglers should have an understanding from time of lines in to lines out there is no friends but enemies except maybe your inner circle. At the same time they should know how to turn it off when it’s over and not take it personal it’s just business The best of the best do it without breaking one single rule! It's part of the game for sure. He attempted to save the spot but it didn't help him get into the finals after being the hottest angler out there. Cheers and tight lines!!
Chicken $&%t move. I'd have fished right in between JW boat and the bank. Yep that's a dick move too. If JW had been fishing anywhere else for 10 minutes longer, MB would have fished through or just sat and fished, his option, and what would JW's options be then? What if a local or non event fisherman was sitting there hammering the spot and told JW to pound salt. What would he have done then? Do that. As stated, chicken $#!t move from a "Pro".
Becker should've started his motor and done some laps around Wheeler. But Becker is the bigger man though so I'm sure that thought didn't come into his mind 😂
I think Matt kept his cool and in turn maybe screwed himself out if advancing. If Wheeler or anyone else wants a spot then they need to stay there all day. If you leave and someone else moves in on the spot, Too Bad So Sad.
I kinda do the same thing but different to my buddy when fishing in his boat. I will cast either right next to him or over his line 10 times. And I swear to the good Lord 😂 I’m not doing it on purpose. I get on my own nerves with it 😆
Bad look for Wheeler. Matt handled it like a true pro. He could have done a lot of damage to his brand. Seems like drama every week. Read McKinney got a DQ today in the Elite because he answerd a phone call telling him he was late. He did self report it.
Zaldain wasn’t wrong…if you have competitively fished Lake Murray the last 2 years during the herring spawn you would have a different opinion. The “bent rod pattern” is what anglers use to find juice spots in practice. It’s different on Murray because if you find spawning herring & active bass on a spot they will be there for days! So this guy was watching pro’s and jumping in the following morning earlier than boat draw. This happens in BFL’s and local Trails all the time. If I’m fishing for $1,000 I will definitely have the same conversation. Fishing for 100k and I’m getting an aggravated assault charge! That “local” was a POS taking advantage of Zaldain’s practice, not a coincidence!
Did that guy follow CZ? Never he was there a long time earlier, and sharing the spot isn't the issue, it's what ensued afterwards. Both anglers could have handled it different but CZ is in the public eye, and after that incident, CZ had pink eye. (joke) Cheers and tight lines!!

This is why I gave up watching professional fishing even before live scope took over. Professional anglers are hilarious in their mindset that they find and own spots that no other angler would find and shouldn’t be allowed to fish. It’s like Kyle Bush telling Bubba Wallace he’s not allowed to race a certain line on Daytona because he found it first. lol
What you do comes back to you sooner or later. Becker showed a lot of character and courtesy given that he was there first Wheeler just sold out to pure greed and and entitlement. He will pay the price…
A total D#CK move. Respect lost for sure. What’s Wheeler gonna do circulate his waypoints to keep competitors off his spots? Maybe Wheeler thought Becker had just seen him fish there previously? My vibe is this was a douche move. Fish Boat Docks has become well known in the fishing world! To me this situation warrants a “Fish Jerk Worms”!
They all have the spots... Wheeler wasn't there as he was fishing that bank and Wheeler came in to claim it and make sure Becker didn't fish it. Respect your view. Cheers and tight lines!!
I’d of kept trolling in front of him and fished on through. Probably would have gave him the bird on the way through as well. Becker handled better than I would have by going around. Watching pro fishing anymore is like watching the daily soap operas my grandma used to watch. Drama, drama, drama.
Wheeler is 100000% wrong for that cheap move. If it were the other way around, he would have been so pissed and they would have made matt look like an ass.
I have lost all respect for Wheeler. Becker was right he didn’t even need to catch fish. And Becker was right also when he told Wheeler would have lost his mind if he did that to him. There is a handful of anglers that have no respect for any one and Wheeler is one of them.

That’s the problem with score tracker. Becker didn’t do this because Wheeler blocked him. They talked afterwards. In my opinion no one is in wrong here.
I can understand and see your side. Respect. Cheers and tight lines!!

@@GetUrFishOn your are right he was blocking. In the video you can clearly see he was well past the yardage of being too close to come in on a guy fishing (min 75 yards).

Just pull up by wheeler and fish with him....what was the distance between the boats when wheeler stopped
There was a little difference between them, but it was wrong. Cheers and tight lines!!
He was not on the tree when Wheeler pulled up. Why didn't Beckers sit on that spot.
I don't think he was catching anything on that flat.
If it was the other way around, things would have been MUCH worse. Cheers and tight lines!!
I have known him for some time, but don't know his on the water reputation. I think he was wrong here for sure.
Becker was there at that time first I think you meant. Dead on right about flights. Cheers!!
Did we watch the same Video??
And you didn't say that wheeler was fishing there first and he left and he has a right to come back if he wants to if you're fishing at a spot someone sees you catch them there and then tries to go there that's what happened
At this point in time, Wheeler was not fishing there at all. He left, but I understand what your saying. Thanks for the comment. Cheers!!

Tommy and Denny would have never went to where they saw the leader catching them and tried to spot snipe them to make the cut
@@nolanthegreat984 that’s not what I said. But you are right about that.
What do you think about Trey now after having his catch disqualified for getting info ? Trait wasn’t as far off as you thought because you know what they say, if you will do it one time then you probably have done it before
Video going up at 6!! Cheers and tight lines!!
@@drivenbyarchery8676 One hour changes his game because someone would be in his spot for sure. LOL now that would be funny. Cheers and tight lines!!
"You'd lose your mind if someone did that to you." Enough said!
Yep, things would have been really blown up. Cheers and tight lines!!
Wheeler was wrong and I think karme got him today. Cheers and tight lines!!
Hmmmmm wonder if Wheeler wasn’t getting payback for the small mouth incident awhile back🤷♂️
Lets hope not, but he was defending his spot.
He was defending a spot he probably will be fishing again. He was in the wrong. Cheers and tight lines!!
Its way simpler why wheeler did that. Reason wheeler why playing them game is because avena was on the cut line. Wheeler was blocking trying save his friend from getting cut. It had nothing to do with wheeler getting to next round.
I didn't see that, thus why I love all comments and different views. This could have been the situation. Cheers and tight lines!!
you can lay claim to a spot for days?
I didn’t think so but I guess so. lol. Cheers!!
Respect your take!! Thanks!! Cheers and tight lines!!
Wheeler is the golden child for MLF.
He's been the best angler in that group. Cheers and tight lines!!
Wheeler was totally wrong! I give Matt credit for taking the high road. Obviously one has integrity and the other doesn’t.
Agreed. Cheers and tight lines!!
I think Becker should have been slightly harder on Wheeler, but I have heard the same thing from others. If you don't mind me asking, how often does this happen? Cheers and tight lines!!
@@GetUrFishOn It happens all the time if you let them do it to you, if they think you won't say anything it will happen and it will keep happening until you do...Like I said i've fished with all of them and a few have tried but you just let them know you're not going to stand for that shit and if you wanna take it to the shore we can settle it up their man to man, but your not going to skateboard me like some punk..Its funny everyone is friends on take-off and on shore but the minute you hit the water all bets are off and they will completely take advantage of you if you let them or are too nice.
@@MichaelScottFishing How long have you been fishing professionally? Is it your only job? I have found over, I don't know how many years, that the really competitive anglers and the ones who pull these kinda of stunts. Some anglers are passive and others will tell you and hold their ground. The passive ones seem to never win and are always middle of the road. Sometimes they get lucky, the the anglers who are working non-stop really have an edge. I could be wrong though. Cheers and thank you for answering my questions. If I can ever help you, please reach out and I'll do what I can.
@@GetUrFishOn I just turned Pro this year and started with the MLF Toyotas I came from ABA And got AOY there, picked up a few good sponsors and went pro and yes this is what I do full time. I wont be fishing MLF Next year, I am going to go to Bassmasters next year. Which is what I should have done this year but I talked to a few other pros and was told that I need to keep my word for what I told my sponsors I would do, so that's why I stayed to be a man of my word. A lot of us are not happy with what is going on with MLF right now but I only have a few more tournaments left this year and 2 Invitationals.I just got assigned a publicist and started my youtube channel so we can film and document the journey on the Opens Elite Qualifiers next year so it should be a fun and exciting journey..
@@MichaelScottFishing I think a lot of anglers whom I keep in touch with are also unhappy, and while I think the Opens are the best options, the grass is not greener. Lots and lots of unhappy people over there also. The Opens is a bigger platform but that competition is TOUGH. It took me a long time to figure out this YT thing, and I don't think I'm that good at it, but if you need my help, email me and lets talk. I can share my experience, but film everything. Need help editting, just ask. As I tell my son, who's 14 and a swimmer, victory and defeat happens in your head first, so go in with a positive attitude and keep learning. I would have of fished it and went in front of him. Especially when you have it live on tv. And if Wheeler said anything he would remember next time never cut in front of someone fishing.
No one should have a spot when they are leading and winning that group. It was a mistake for sure. Cheers and tight lines!!
If y'all can't get along it could all end soon.
Please Respect each other, follow the Rules.
Agreed!! Cheers and tight lines!!
Well the water is open to everyone i know its wrong but thats life
Agreed!! Cheers!!
Ouch!! I think I’m bringing my son up there tomorrow, my neighbor has a house on smith and we’re score 30 minutes away.
Oh that just stinks. I have to be honest, Trey seems to have a lot of things happen to him. More than anyone I've seen in a long LONG time. Cheers and tight lines!!
@@GetUrFishOn update, he admitted to breaking the rules and lost the entire day. A family member called him. I’m pulling for him and this is a terrible situation because it could push him out of AOY. He went from the 50s to 93. Send kind of harsh just because someone called him. More drama but hey…more videos! You’re doing a great job and I really enjoy your style. Even and fair. Cheers and tight lines!
Wheeler was wrong, Who was first the day before, who need more fish when, has nothing to do with it, Wheeler is wrong regardless. This is why I no longer follow tournaments fishing/. Any fisherman should be allowed to fish where he's fishing. The fact that you're a tournament fisherman gives you no right or claim to anything, IF you want to control the water then put it on your property and pay for it,
Agreed. He was wrong. Cheers and tight lines!!
It’s just a part of the game all I can say is suck it up buttercup
I hear ya!! Thanks for the comment. Cheers!!
In this case Wheeler was one hundred percent wrong. Maybe a close friend of Wheeler will tell him that.
Agreed completely. Cheers and tight lines!!
Becker should've started his motor and done some laps around Wheeler. But Becker is the bigger man though so I'm sure that thought didn't come into his mind 😂
Becker was looking to get into the knockout round and needed fish. Wheeler was wrong. Cheers and tight lines!!
I think Matt kept his cool and in turn maybe screwed himself out if advancing. If Wheeler or anyone else wants a spot then they need to stay there all day. If you leave and someone else moves in on the spot, Too Bad So Sad.
Karma kinda hit wheeler today IMO. Matt did right!! Cheers and tight lines!!
I kinda do the same thing but different to my buddy when fishing in his boat. I will cast either right next to him or over his line 10 times. And I swear to the good Lord 😂 I’m not doing it on purpose. I get on my own nerves with it 😆
lol hilarious!! My son does the same thing. Cheers!!
The moral compass is at it again! We know what opinions are like.
And I have one. LOL Thank you!! Cheers and tight lines!!
Bad look for Wheeler. Matt handled it like a true pro. He could have done a lot of damage to his brand. Seems like drama every week. Read McKinney got a DQ today in the Elite because he answerd a phone call telling him he was late. He did self report it.
I heard he had 7 pounds taken off because he was late. I hate to say this, but that young man has had a lot of issues this season. Cheers!!
@@GetUrFishOn where there is smoke there is usually a fire
The MLF # 1 son does what he wants
I can understand that comment. Cheers and tight lines!!
That was bad ,but from what ive seen in bass fishing before this is the standard.Bass tournament anglers need to share the spot, jacob should have got behind him.
Sharing is caring, and those anglers don't care....LOL competition brings out some of the worst in people. Cheers and tight lines!!
@@GetUrFishOn This attitude of you fishing there yesterday entitles you to that spot has to change in competituve BASS fishing.Everyone knows the spots, and maybe you couldnt get on your spot, cause of your draw day one. These guys are supposedly that good ,and can adapt sure doesnt seem like it.I hope change is coming. This old bass attitude/rules blow.im old too.
It's all part of the game. It's not against any rules. It's not right, and i would not do it, but I can't get mad at someone else who feels it's ok. It's all about money for these dude. Either way, it's happened before between these 2 thats the only reason it still happens between them
Happens a lot more than we know. Thanks for the comment. Cheers!!
I think what Wheeler did was unsportsmanlike. I think a lot of those guys are sore sports and they are entitled. He should not have pulled up there. You can't say "I was here yesterday." How childish and petty is that? My goodness. Grow up Jacob. Somebody else was there. Go somewhere else and be a normal human for a while. I am going to be unsportsmanlike and go put a thumbs down on all Jacob Wheeler videos. How is that for childish?
I agree. Cheers!!
This is why I gave up watching professional fishing even before live scope took over. Professional anglers are hilarious in their mindset that they find and own spots that no other angler would find and shouldn’t be allowed to fish. It’s like Kyle Bush telling Bubba Wallace he’s not allowed to race a certain line on Daytona because he found it first. lol
Great analogy!! Love this. Cheers and tight lines!!
That's the problem the money. Pros think there better then anyone else they think the own the water
Lots of non pros that probably would beat some pros on a regular basis. Cheers and thanks for the comment.
What you do comes back to you sooner or later. Becker showed a lot of character and courtesy given that he was there first Wheeler just sold out to pure greed and and entitlement. He will pay the price…
His spot dried up in the Championship round, so it might have happened already. Cheers and tight lines!!
Matt was in right, wheeler pulled a bitch move
I agree wheeler was wrong. Thanks for the comment. Cheers!
any time i half to argue over fishing i will stop fishing it takes the fun out of it but there or a lot of edits out there
I can understand that. Cheers and tight lines!!
He was wrong and I think a majority of the people believe it too. It's a mistake he will learn from hopefully. Cheers and tight lines!!
Wheeler had that spot already look at the numbers he went back to his tree and sat. Becker just had to go around and fish no harm done go Wheeler
They all have the spots... Wheeler wasn't there as he was fishing that bank and Wheeler came in to claim it and make sure Becker didn't fish it. Respect your view. Cheers and tight lines!!
When you come upon someone on a spot, you get the hell on from there!!! He was there first ! That's very un- sportsmanship ! It's not right!!
Agreed!! Cheers and tight lines!!
I’d of kept trolling in front of him and fished on through. Probably would have gave him the bird on the way through as well. Becker handled better than I would have by going around. Hats off to the man. I think wheeler, at times, has the tendency to act like daddy Duckett’s little entitled, brat kid. Watching pro fishing anymore is like watching the daily soap operas my grandma used to watch. Drama, drama, drama.
Fishing is boring, the stuff during the event and more isn’t: lol cheers!!
Whoever is there first, gets it, period!!!!!!
Agreed!! Cheers and tight lines!!
He was defending his spot for the upcoming days, but I do agree that it was wrong. Cheers and tight lines!!
U call it defending a spot a regular fisherman says getting cut off lol
