    Something we forgot to mention in Sculpt: one of the other things that initially set Dark Beast's design apart were the little quills on his upper back and shoulders, which are absent on this figure. Doesn't really effect the score though. -Glen

    Under normal lighting conditions, it's much harder to see those sprays by the way. Thanks for the love!

    Thank you for another very informative master piece. I love your informative unique style when presenting articulation. The the way you show the angles is very technical. It's like watching a mini documentary. Very good job!!!!!!

    I love this channel, been here since the Molten man wave, love your stuff. My only suggestion is to tackle more brands, like S.H Figuarts or DC Multiverse and I love seeing Storm collectable's Mortal Kombat stuff reviewed, probably because I'm a big MK fan and I love the figures, but that's just a nitpick. Probably my favourite action figure reviewers, keep up the great work guys!

    Love, love, love this channel. Amazing work. I have the retro Beast, but I'm a big fan of those banded pants, and the fur color is a close enough match that I may get this guy to kitbash a different costume all together.

    Only improvements I would want is rotation at the mid calves section and two of each of those hands. I really want to put him in a SpiderMan pose which I feel would work for a hunched over beast like him but we only get one for that pose. Still everything is great I can’t wait to get mine in a few days

    I had just gotten the Grey Beast figure last week, and I have to agree with y'all on this mold. It's amazing. Also, that tease for the new retro Spider-Man at the end. I can't wait to see that covered in this style.

  • @Chalor.
    @Chalor. 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Do I agree with you on everything _but_ the score, absolutely. As far as the score, I give it a 10 out of 10; especially with it being a $20 toy. If it was an $85 figure, I'd give it an 8 out of 10; only because it'd need a few more accessories.

    There was a little something you missed. Dark Beast has sperate eye pieces. Some are sunken into the eye sockets much more than others; so that's something to look out for. It's a very fascinating technique that Hasbro uses occasionally. The default head that came with the Riders Series Wolverine comes to mind.
    I'm really curious to know the reasoning behind this seemingly random choice of theirs. Plus, it's odd that Hank's yellow eyeballs are textured/gloppy, and not smooth as they should be. A factory defect, but not a significant issue when on display.

    • @SuperArticulated
      @SuperArticulated  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Once Ed sends this figure back I'll have to do some inspecting! Strange that despite this technique, the head on this one still has a decent sized gash on it's eye. Doom also comes to mind with these layered heads. -Glen

    • @Chalor.
      @Chalor. 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@SuperArticulated
      I appreciate your reply Glen. Layer heads, ha...that's a good description. Yeah, gashes are a better word to describe it. You'd think the whole purpose of that is them experimenting with trying to have the best paint apps/QC with the eyes; but those gashes are present on all of Dark Beast's eyes. I ordered several after my initial one (thinking I just received a defective copy); then started to see a bunch of them in stores, and taking screenshot references from TH-cam.
      I'm all about saving reference pics with all the collectables I get to assess if my copy might be below the norm. So definitely a manufacturing defect across the board. Luckily, Doom came out nice; but that Wolverine head I mentioned, some of them had eyes recessed way back in the sockets.
      The name's Travis by the way. I just joined my first group on Facebook. Never really used social media before...and I've been hardcore figure collecting/customizing since '95, so pretty crazy I just joined one lol. If you have any good recommendations for collectible groups, I'd definitely appreciate it.

      Chalor Chalor Hey Travis! I never got the riders Wolverine but I do remember seeing the problems your talking about over on the Fwoosh forums. Really strange when the Patch head wasn't layered and didn't have any issues (from what I saw). Must be something to do with the molding process that they make this decision, because that's the only reason why I see them continuing to use it for things like this. I try not to script much about QC issues just because they vary so much from figure to figure. Generally they aren't faults of the designers but the manufacturing process so, I dunno, I guess I just want to review the "idealized" version of the figure. But it is a product as much as it's a sculpted piece of art so maybe I should start including that in scripts more. Anyway, I have about as much experience as you when it comes to Facebook but I highly, highly recommend joining the Fwoosh forums if you haven't already. Cheers!

    • @Chalor.
      @Chalor. 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@SuperArticulated
      The idealized version aspect definitely makes sense, as opposed to critiquing your particular copy. Yes, I've always called figures and such little works of art. I collect everything from 1/6 scale, statues, action figures of all kinds, prop replicas, mini figures...I'm all over the place. As an artist, I've always been very visually drawn to things. Wow, someone else with not a lot of Facebook experience, that's crazy.
      I used to go on the Fwoosh forum everyday, long before Robo started up on TH-cam. Same with Cool Toy Review, Rebelscum, and Michael Crawford's Reviews. Then became a member on the Sideshow Freaks forum at some point - good place to buy and sell. Now a days, I'm not on them nearly as much as I used to be. I've been recommended so many times over the years to join figure groups on Facebook, but they'd always say there's a million of 'em when asking what specific one(s) to join. Just overwhelming, so I never did. Now I'm on my first...Red Cup Review - The Rebellion. I just want to finally branch out to share info. Maybe get some help finding figures, and helping others out with getting stuff.

    Nicely done fellas! You’ll be the go-to reviewers in no time just get the figures and reviews out earlier! Curious who does the script and who does the editing?

    • @Chalor.
      @Chalor. 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      This has _nothing_ to do with getting reviews out early. There's plenty of fast food reviews to watch; but this is action figure refinement and elegance at its highest form.

    • @SuperArticulated
      @SuperArticulated  4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Thanks Brock! I think you're right about getting these out sooner. Believe it or not this was the fastest turnaround we've had on a new figure (about 2 weeks) usually our videos come out 2 months later, so we're trying lol. I think you'll be happy with our next big review. I script everything with additions and final approval from Ed, and I usually edit the main structure of the videos while Ed fills them in. We're trying to get him to edit more but he's been pretty busy at work. He also shoots everything aside from minor pickups (like Jackal for instance).
