  • @gnirolnamlerf593
    @gnirolnamlerf593 หลายเดือนก่อน +5

    Thank you, Senator. I've been wondering why we don't follow the Constitution, in which the description of the president's job is kind of boring. I've written several times that I've added "reality shows" to my list of the worst inventions of the 20th century. Politics should not be pure entertainment, as if it is just another episode of _Survivor_ . We should not be going "Nyah! So there!" like Lucy van Pelt, about actual reality like we might reacting to our least favorite contestant on the unscripted, but well-planned dramas that so-called reality shows are. Politics should not be a show of any sort at all.
    And by the way, could other politicians and experts stop saying, "I don't want to get into the weeds" on one of these important subjects? I am sick of being talked down to by nearly everyone, discussing any issue. To me, one of the most important parts of a politician's or journalist's or expert's job is to educate us, not treat us like uneducable riff-raff, who respond only to slogans or the glitzy parts of an issue.
    It's like with raising kids. Treat them like idiots and they will turn out to be idiots. Treat them like the only thing that counts is who's got the power -- "You'll do it because I said so, and as long as you live under this roof..." -- and they will not be able to function as anything but the bully or bullied the rest of their lives.
    So, Senator, you and your colleagues have time to hold hearings and have your staff do research on any topic of importance. What you and your 534 congressional colleagues could do if they wantred to is to communicate what you have learned without all the fancy jargon, something you do quite well. Remember Carl Sagan? He explained the Cosmos to us without our having to get a degree in Astronomy. Remember the series _Connections_ with James Burke? He explained the complex relationships between social and technological change throughout history so we could understand it. Remember _Crockett's Victory Garden_ ? Crockett explained how to grow things without our having to get a degree in Botany.
    That's what politicians and economists need to be able to do in their fields too.

    Sen. Sanders is as eloquent and on message as ever. A real unifying statement. I found the question by the host here disgusting, to bring up the event on the crazy shooter at a republican event when he himself has been targeted for attacks, as he mentioned. this framing is a choice. We as Americans need to take a real hard look at the power we give to these media institutions. whether it is how they targeting Biden, even in this interview, or Bernie during the last run, the media house should bear the bulk of the responsibility for the hostilities in politics in search for rating. Media corporations should not dictate our president nor our political outcomes, it should be the people

    Sanders is wrong when politics allow us to solve problems that’s exciting. But it takes a long time and lots of repeating to get through to some stakeholders in solving a problem. Patience is needed so is passion. Biden has done a lot during his many years of service but Sanders is talking about issues. Issues that impact people. So which is more important the a person who is an issue or a person that advocates for issues. When it comes to women controlling their bodies I don’t want a man doing that. I want a woman taking the lead. At that point I feel Biden didn’t defeat Trump in 2020. Trump defeated Trump in 2020 with his behavior. Now Biden is defeating Biden as his image continues to be chipped away by his own performance in debates, interviews, and his comments. I’d prefer Harris run because she is doing well speaking about issues and I see no more reason for her to remain in Biden’s shadow. Harris / Moore 2024!
