Cranky Motorsports1953 53 Bel Air Gasser Steering update! It works! How did I do it??

Got my steering working with all the components I had already purchased.

Looks like I set up my 55 the same way as you. I used a 59 Chevy pickup axle and stock steering arms. Working good so far. 👌

The steering was a lot of work for me. I still have the stock 51 truck drag link and steering arms. Haven’t had the heart to toss them even though I’m not using them…

I am going through steering right now on my 51 chevy truck! Been building all the parts myself. Its been a pain. But more rewarding than just buying it all

your leaf springs NEED to be a foot longer , or it will ride like a tank . Trust me , i made that mistake .

They can’t be a foot longer, it’s not that bad of a ride actually, definitely not like a tank. It rides like a straight axle vehicle. I didn’t build it for comfort, I built it for cool
