They can’t be a foot longer, it’s not that bad of a ride actually, definitely not like a tank. It rides like a straight axle vehicle. I didn’t build it for comfort, I built it for cool
Looks like I set up my 55 the same way as you. I used a 59 Chevy pickup axle and stock steering arms. Working good so far. 👌
