- Whilst travelling down to South Carolina we decided to call in to Asheville which is a really happening pace. Great food, great bars live music. Well worth a visit if you are passing. Stay at the KOA nearby.

It is SOOOO NICE when things function the way they are supposed to function. We've been using our current motorhome since 2004 but we still learn things by watching your videos. Thank you. We love our Entegra, we just don't like being knobbed around by a bunch of amateurs .

OMG thank you for answering this question. I can't imagine how many people got there steering checked over these shenanigans. And they got down and looked for all the parts as well. Thank you. To too many people say, oh I have a problem but they say nothing can be done about it. You have show this not to be true, stick to your believe and get it done.

Excellent ... Glad to see that "you're back on the road again". Hopefully your travels with be trouble free for the foreseeable future. What struck me at the Biltmore Estates was the Christmas decorations. I love decorating for Christmas. Enjoy your travels.
We are having a great time when we are no where near an Entegra dealer !!! The coach is running great and it's good to have steering that works. Even Julia is starting to drive a little now. The only downside of this is that I'll have to make my own coffee now.
I recognized that rest stop right away. Between Johnson City, TN and Asheville, been there many times. That is a beautiful highway, almost hit a deer at the very top one time. It's good to see you running around the USA again. Hope you are having a great trip. Great video!
Glad your steering is finally fixed! We just traded our SOB for 2018 Anthem 44B and we are really enjoying it. Too bad the Spring Green color was discontinued or else we would have gone for it too :). Take Care! Safe Travels!
Hope your Enetgra is trouble free. We love the green and lots of people stop us and normally just say: wow, what a colour. So a good choice.

Really enjoy your videos, especially this one having been reared only a hour away from Asheville. I’m now living on the other side of the state (Raleigh) and not able to go up as often as I would like. Also thank you on reporting the issues with your coach, my friend who has a Newmar, his only advice is the dealer is more important that the make. They all have problems, what matters is can they fix them right the first time, and not break more things while fixing the original repair.
Totally agree but you would think that the factory would be able to fix them? Plus, if they fix them to this standard what must the build be like

Thanks again for the awesome video , I look forward to seeing your next one and by the way ,I am looking at a new Newmar King Aire and just need to visit Newmar and see what I am getting with my own eye instead of looking at what is offered at the Dealerships and taking their word for whats available because they would rather sell what they have in stock or on order vs seeing some motorhomes before they are shipped to different dealerships because I have seen some different ones that combine the Essex and King Aire ideas and they are a very nice package when they are finished .
If I could have afforded it at the time I would have purchased a Newmar.

Good to see you back on the road. Biltmore at Christmas is so beautiful, but the trees changing color this time of the year are beautiful! I️ do not know where y’all are headed, but charleston, sc would be a nice stop. The weather here is wonderful now, please come down. I️ will be at an oyster roast on Isle of palms tomorrow afternoon at Morgan’s creek restaurant if y’all come down, Drinks are on me and and I️ will be wearing a hat that looks like a bear , it’s sort of winter. I️ really enjoy your videos and am dreaming about my retirement in a few year , trying to get my wife to agree on the diesel pusher lifestyle! Stay safe! We follow several full-time RV TH-cam channels, but just discovered (and subscribed to) yours today... we are enjoying your travels and also hearing your perspectives! We can't believe you were just in Asheville 1 month ago as we were there as well with our new RV. We also have the same steering problem (although we have a gas Thor 30' Class A).. and were considering the steering stabilizer as well... thanks so much for the review, we are encouraged that this will fix our problem too... it is quite annoying (and fatiguing) to have so much play in the wheel ... thanks for your insights! Glenn you may already know this but just in case I noticed when you left the KOA your site pass was on your mirror. Make sure when you leave the campground's you stay in to take this pass of until you get back. This give's theives your location and site# your are on and that you are not there. Love the videos, have fun.

I lived in North Carolina for 25 Yrs. Christmas time at the Builtmore is high price to get in but its a once in a life time to check it out. They also have in the back places to take your 4 wheel drive and drive around there property not sure of the cost of that but you could check it if you still out there.

Welcome to the SC Upstate and Western NC! Glad you enjoyed the Biltmore estate and yes it is an amazing. Being that you are from France, I curious as to your thoughts regarding the winery and its products. Thank you for sharing and safe travels!
We didn't actually see the vineyard and were informed that the grapes are sourced elsewhere, What you do see is a shop with free wine tasting. This isn't what we are used to but hay it works. We enjoyed our visit and the wine tasting and I purchased far more wine than I should have.

Just found your channel tonight and enjoying. I’m just 30 min down the road in Brevard. If you have the time Sierra Nevada Brewery is worth a stop. Don,t know which KOA your in, ones a little closer but it’s down by the Airport so all highway to get there.

OH one thing I forgot was when in the UK we sunk down to the axles on a ''super site'' and burnt out the leveler jacks motor trying to get her up and out of the mud - one call to Newmar and the new motor was on it's way - just buy a Newmar !!

Biltmore was great and I would highly recommend it to anyone. Steering seems to be behaving itself. Yes Thor own Entegra and the new management are doing a great job of screwing it up in my opinion. Quality of repairs has gone down the pan

What a lovely place to visit with such beautiful temperature. Knowing how you are a wine lover, how was the wine you tasted there?
Sell funny you should say that, it's not actually a wine tour, just a large free bar and a shop. Most were fairly average but we choose to go for the Hunts which is very similar to a Bordeaux.
Not suitable for RV or high-profile/long length vehicles for routing, you may wish to try WAZE for the passenger car. It supports voice search and has accident/traffic re-routing. (If you haven't already known about it)
It worked ok for me in the UK too, though Sprint's partnership in the UK was problematic to get data updates needed for the map-app.
But when you pay $300,000 --$500,000 on a coach you expect your GOS radio to work correctly

Whats strange about the rigs gps is why didn’t they buy an existing system from one of the big suppliers. Most components on rigs come from auto makers anyhow. Why not the gps? Hmmm. One rig from the mid nineties uses fox body mustang taillights. Or ford truck headlights.
That's because they try and buy the cheapest end of lie stuff.
Love your videos, the production quality is great. Why do you use the car GPS? We live in AZ and travel about 6 months a year in our Entegra, we tow a Jeep with their GPS but always use my phone and Google Maps. Just use the voice input for the address and rarely and I mean rarely ever get misled, Suction cup mount, would not use anything else, even shows the slowdowns.

That driver seat looks so comfortable. Question, perhaps strange but I just do not know. When towing your car, does the speedometer rise with the engine off in regards to mileage? Would seem strange if the car read 50k miles but really you have driven it only 20k.
Ah good question, there is a way when you set the car up for towing that the speedo is disabled. The problem these days is that cars are far too intelligence and they detect movement. That said it's easy to get around this. So to answer your question no the milage doesn't clock up.
Hi Glenn, Did Spartan ever give you an exact reason as to what the problem was with the steering? Also, what was the check engine code that you had? Awful strange that you had that problem. BTW, I had a blast at the estate when I went two years ago..
No they didn't or couldn't but I have to say that after visiting Spartan a couple of weeks ago it's bloody impressive, very very professional, it's just sad that a motorhome manufacture has to get hold of a well made peace of kit and ten butcher it. If you get the chance get yourself on one of the Spartan training courses, well worth the dosh. The engine light was on when I collected it from Spartan and I asked them if they could reset it and was told that I would have to visit a Cummins dealer as they didn't have the equipment, so I drove a thousand moles with it on and when I arrived on the Spartan training course I mentioned this and they said, "give 10 mins and we'll plug it in to our equipment and reset it for you" Very bizarre.
The light was the regen light probably due to lots of start stop of the engine whilst at Entegra
OK, I told you about KOA now it's time to get a Newmar !! stuff just works 30,000 miles around the US and all we had was a cracked wind screen (thanks to a gravel truck) and a new water pump on the engine, just a small drip but they changed it FOC. We shipped her back to UK - UK to Gibraltar and back Via Portugal no problem another 4000 miles - everything just worked - apart from the fact Europe does not do USA size RV's - so if you want to do Europe you are stuck in a crappy van - just stay in the US and get a Newmar !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Take one for a drive with the comfort drive it is like driving a marshmallow on clouds the nearest thing I have been close to as driving my Bentley only over 40 foot long, just buy a Newmar !!!!!!!
That's what I'm afraid of, if I drive one I'll want one. BTW, we have travelled around Europe in our 42' Fleetwood for 8 years without much issues, but then I am an exceptionally good driver

Oh, be sure to visit the craft museum along the parkway. Great quilts, woodwork, and other delightful things to look at and/or buy. VERY worth the trip.
We did pass a few quilt places but didn't stop. Next time we will. It a great road to drive
Glenn, love your videos, but this one brings up a kind of fun question: Considering your new very low opinion of Entegra...I understand you can't take the brand name off the coach, but you're wearing their windbreaker! When I was in film school a zillion years ago, one of our crustier profs (you'd have liked him a LOT! Similar style of wit!) used to confront every student wearing a teeshirt plugging a movie with this "Did they PAY you to advertise their movie like that?" :) So...anyhow....keep warm and whatever. BTW, if you get a chance to go back to the Biltmore in spring or summer, the GARDENS are truly astoundingly beautiful, too!
Believe it or not I actually like Entegra. I purchased the jackets at full price. My complaint is when they do any repair on your RV they do a bad job and you land up going back to have the repair done badly again.
I saw your recent repair issues video and that's why I responded. Seems like a great brand has been ruined by such bad service. I mean, it is one thing to do the job poorly or need it re-done. Quite another when, as you showed, they check off an item as repaired/replaced and NOTHING has been done and it is the same as before. That's not about the quality of the repairman, it is about the quality of the managers and checking systems and procedures, and it doesn't bode well re. manufacturing side as well as service, repairs. I don't know that any other brand is any better, of course (smile) we live in an increasingly slipshod world, it seems. But with that kind of major investment, well...I happen to know several semi-high and high-end boat companies that do SUPERBLY in this regard, so they can't tell me it cannot be done.
MEANWHILE, a tip--if you cross back into TN sometime, do NOT miss the ultimate pork experience that is Benton's Bacon and Ham in Madisonville, TN. You have never, and I mean NEVER, had better and you can stock up because, smoked, it lasts and lasts. I ship 16 lbs of bacon to myself in Los Angeles every other month, to give you an idea of how good this stuff is. Here's their website (I get zip for mention, btw) and you really need to get some next time in that area, not far from Vonore. www.BentonsCountryHams2.com Oh, and look up the videos on Vimeo of the founder Alan Benton who is a sweetheart of a guy and gives a damn. :)

Yes it's the bad repirs that let the whole thing down time & time again. I'm going on line to check the ham place out, we a local cured ham place at home that I recon we visit one a week.

Hi Janet, no we will probably do another year traveling the US. Our plan was to return the RV to Europe but in view of all of the problems that wouldn't be a wise move with this brand of coach

The Steering Wheel is not centered.
We have had the steering set up perfectly now, sometime the camera angle makes it look like it's not centred. I'm pleased to say it is pretty perfect now.
