Lately, I've been putting my extra money in small home items, especially candles. Small joys, full of light and ambience that help me reinforce the good habits.
I have a small and large emergency fund, too. The small one stays at home in my safe in case card readers go down and the only thing I can spend is cash. And I have a buffer in my checking account of $1500 that I pretend is not there, but is accessible by debit card. My big EF lives in the credit union. So I don't think it is abnormal to separate your Emergency Fund into categories if that is what you need to do.
I really like that 3-tiered emergency fund strategy. I always thought the term "emergency" was too ambiguous. Those layers give you some flexibility and backup to work with.
I am actually starting your ice cream savings challenge. It is going to take me a WHILE but a good chunk of it will go towards clothing as I need new shoes, jeans, intimates and so on. I can't patch stuff anymore 😭my stuff is more patches than actual cloth at this point. It is one of the ways I save money, the longer I stretch my clothes the better. But I am down to my last pair of jeans lol 😅 all the others have been patched until they either fall apart or don't fit anymore. So a BIG part of that $950 savings challenge is going to be so I can replace about 90% of my wardrobe. I thought about buying fabric to make my own clothes (never tried before but there is a first for everything) but it is just about as expensive now unfortunately, I will pretty much learn anything to save $$$. I think I made most of my clothing last 10 years, I am 32 now. ☺victory I guess?
I would make sure this storm passes with this mobile home park - I think they are tricky. Pretty suspicious. I hope you get this job girl don’t be afraid to start something new we are human and we deserve better for ourselves. I think this could be a great move. Maybe once you have had some experience you go for a government job or maybe even something in a better office! Life is what you make it!
❤❤❤. I so very happy for you hopefully it will come through. Date night . 🌙 even if it just going for ice cream 🍦 😋. Buy something ive been wanting to decorate or organize the house. Buy hubby a part fot the Harley. he is rebuilding .😊. I got the $2.75 challenge finally put my cash tips for the week $38 😊. I would if I had a home 😊
If it was me with the Hello Kitty bank, I would probably pay off the car, depending on the interest rate on the car. If the interest rate on the car was near or higher than what I could expect to get on the house savings fund, I'd pay off the car. Either way, I would plunk the cash into a no-fee high yield savings account while I thought about it.
Maybe pay half or so of the car off, this way in case something comes up with the new owners you have extra. Also that way you still have some money for the forever home already and doesn’t feel like your starting completely over.
I'm behind in videos, so don't know if you got the job yet or not, but if you do, you might want to invest in some more dress clothes and shoes. I know when I went to my first office jobs after working in production and stoes, I had to go to dressing a lit nicer (no jeans, stretch pants, tee shirts with print on them, and no open toe shoes.). As a matter if fact, I could only wear dresses and heels Monday thur Thursday and then casual clothes on Friday. I know things have changed since then but still had to wear "dressy" type clothes.
Yes causal dressing is not this kinda job no. I have some dressy things but not a lot mostly interview clothes but I have enough to make it through until I get a idea of what everyone else wears
Extra money? I have not yet experienced that. But when I do I would love to have sinking funds for life things like car repairs or kids clothes an emergency or urgency fund. It will get there. You are doing great BTW. Even when it's a struggle you manage something. I'm just thankful you don't have to come up with rent for that apartment anymore.
@@LifeUnflintered I agree! Pay off the car. Then use the $700 each month that you pay towards it for your high yield savings account! That way you will have a running start on saving for your next car/future home.

Great job, amanda! Hello kitty should be for you to take some time off!!!❤
I would either pay your vehicle off or put it in month ahead for bills but in the end it's your choice I'd never tell you what to do ❤❤

Maybe pay your car off but unless you need the money keep putting your car payment to one side and put it towards your forever home
