      There are MANY wire looms that go underneath to the top side of the playfield. I bought a Pin-Bot in 2019 for $700 that was about to be junked if I didn't save it. It was a pain in the derriere, but it took 2 years to finish it. It is a great players machine with a long life ahead of it.

    I'm no pinball machine expert, but I am a guy who likes lights and things to be original. I'm a fan of how you can see the incandescent bulbs smoothly come on and off on this machine, unlike the sharp transition of LEDs. I do like LEDs too, but it seems like many times they look out of place in old machines, whether it be car lighting (taillights/turn signals) or carnival rides. I'm also a fan of keeping machines original so that they're sort of time machines in their own way. You get to see and feel how they really were. The incandescent warm white color also seems to be difficult to match exactly. On the other hand, restomod-type stuff is also great, and it's not mine so I don't get a vote haha. Anyway, y'all's channel is very cool and I hope the pinball machine looks great with the new LEDs!

    Don't know if it would be worth it for you but Magic Eraser is just brand name Melamine foam insulation. You can buy big sheets of the insulation and just cut it up into your own magic eraser sponges. Saves a bit of money if you got a good pair of shears or a sharp knife and you go through a lot of magic erasers.

    Looking forward to seeing what you do with this one with the LED's. I usually dislike LED's in classic Pinball machines, but I saw a video on blackrosemf channel that had a Bride of Pinbot with Cointaker LED's installed and it looked freaking awesome.

  • @CXensation
    @CXensation 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    You know that LED's are switching on and off very fast, like a spark.
    If you wanna have some afterglow on the LED you can add an electrolytic capacitor over the supply wires to the LED.
    Trial and error would find what you like best, selecting the capacitor value in mF (microFarads).
    I'd start with a value of 100mF, having 47mF, 220mF, 470mF ready as optional values.
    The voltage rating of the capacitor should be at least 10% higher than your supply voltage.
    The capacitor would be a bit harsh load on the lamp driver (transistor or relay). This can be remedied by adding a 10-12 ohm resistor (1/4watt) in series with the capacitor.
    The effective load will then act exactly like an incandecent bulb.

    For a WPC game this has lots of wear and has had a rough life... much could of been avoided with cheap maintenance. I can't belive the clear with a paintbrush but I've actually seen some EM tiles at Silverball museum that look like they were cleared with a paintbrush.

    Hi Ron!
    As always, amazing work on this machine...I am curious about one thing though (since you'l be adding LEDs before it's all done);
    Are you (or more to the point, your client) aware of the 'Version 2.0' upgrade kit that's available for this machine?
    I would think that it would make a spectacular addition, given the work you're putting into this project.
    But then again... It's not my machine... ;-)

    • @pinball541
      @pinball541 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Version 2.0 in my opinion is not a upgrade, I always liked the original. Also V2.0 does not have the rotating faces.

      @@jayytee8062- I am pretty sure the upgrade kit keeps the rotating heads. I was talking about the actual Dutch pinball BOP 2.0, which only has one static head. That was the best part of the original Williams BOP machine.
