It's not that simple Russ has better rebounding and athleticism. But, I think the most important thing is his approach to the game, Russ always plays with passion, whereas Wall comes off as too nonchalant and doesn't seem to take the game as serious at times. Russ is 2 or 3 yrs older and looks like he's in much better shape. I think Wall is more talented, but Russ doesn't cheat himself or his teammates. Personally, I'd rather have the one I can count on to give there all. Also, if the Rockets felt Wall was an undeniable talent he'd be playing, but that goes back to my point about him being too nonchalant and not being serious. I'd imagine when he practices with the Rockets young talented players, he's probably just going through the motions and I'd even bet they probably typically outperform him more times then not in practice. Not only is that lazy, it would set a horrible example for the Rockets young core players if they saw that Wall still got rewarded as a starter. I highly suspect the Rockets were "only" interested in bringing Wall off the bench for this reason... So on one hand you have Russ that puts in the work but has low IQ, then on the other you have Wall that doesn't seem to take the game serious enough but has high IQ. Not a Russ or Wall fan just answering from my observations of both players
I'm the biggest Wall fan out but when they use to go head to head it's was always clear to me Westbrook took the comparison to heart and he would almost always get the better of wall...
