- The apple didn’t fall far from the tree when Brandon Childress decided where he wanted to play collegiate ball. The younger Childress wanted to follow his father’s footsteps to Wake Forest and continue the body of work his father had left before him. Many remember Randolph’s epic crossover in the ACC tournament along with his smooth three point stroke that helped the Demon Deacons in the late 90’s. Brandon is a 6′ point guard that finished his career under former Maryland Terp. Keith Gatlin at Wesleyan Christian Academy (NC). The DMV native is your prototypical point guard that gets his teammates involved and having a 3 pt. stroke like his father doesn’t hurt either. Look for the younger Childress to come in under the guidance of Danny Manning and help the Demon Deacons from Day 1. Hopefully we’ll be seeing that “Childress crossover” reenacted in the near future!

Randolph Childress' crossover in the ACC tourney was cold. He dropped the dude and signaled for him to get up, then proceeded to hit the three in his face. Whoever that defender was took a mean L that day 😂😂
Los_X23 a For a brief minute. Both of those dudes were garbage as pros, but that "get up" moment is one of the ACC's best.

Randolph Childress was so good at Wake Forest. Hard to believe its been nearly 20 years. You always wonder why certain guys couldn't make it in the pros. Randolph, James Forrest etc. Hope he played in Europe for many years.

Certainly resembles his dad in a lot of ways, but really plays like a smaller CJ McCollum, to me. Wake needs help badly, so he will get a shot. Questionable athleticism vs guys like Dennis Smith Jr., or Frank Jackson in the ACC could keep him out of the big-time, but over four years, could be one of the ACC's best, at least.
