go to audio in the settings it will show mic monitoring and if you turn it up you’re mic should be better

In my case I went to audio settings and saw that the headset was turned off randomly
None worked ☹️ i even switched headsets and contollers 😭😭😭

Thank you so much, I didn’t think this was gonna work because my mic wouldn’t work consistently with that specific controller and would work perfectly fine with the other. At first I thought the controller was damaged. But I guess all it needed was an update.
My issue is my controller is update, I tried restarting my xbox, nothing's working
InsertMeme InsertMeme go into settings volume and audio and on speaker audio put hdmi audio off optical audio on bitstream out and on bitstream format put Dolby digital. Then on headset audio Put window sonic and that worked for me

Hello! Idk if your gonna read this considering that this is an old video but I'm having trouble connecting ANY headset on all controls i have. I bought a new control and it didn't work either. I connected all of my headsets to my PC and phone and the mic works fine, it's just that when i turn on the mic on Xbox it only picks up breathing or wind unless the mic is in my mouth. I've tried all of the options in this video including restarting the console and nothing seems to work. Can you help or tell me where I can get help?

H2O Dmoney u got to update controller software and then go to home screen unplug headset and then plug back in and h can make a party and test if it’s working: it should also say a headphone icon on top right when u press Xbox button

when i go to audio on the xbox home thing...it shows me in gray those headset volume and mic settings...it shows that my mic konitoring is on the lowest and i can't go on it to change it...i have a problem with my mic for a very long time and i cannot fix it...my friends say tgat they can't hear me at all

I have updated my system, Updated my controller, Bought a new headset, and nothing on my PlayStation they work fine. both my headsets do, but on Xbox... nope not even close. The only headset I have that works on Xbox is the original one that comes with the system out of the box.

So I have the Razer Kraken X headset, its quite new, but my problem is that the mic doesn’t work, I don’t know if its my controller or my headset, but before I had this random pink headset I got off Amazon that worked perfectly like a year ago. I’ve had this issue for over a year now and nothing has worked. New headset, new controller, new adapters. I can hear everyone but they can’t hear me. All my settings are turned on and up to the max volume and yet nothing works. Is it my Xbox system?? Do I seriously need to buy a new Xbox just to have people hear me when we play? My old style Xbox controller worked nice with my XO ONE headset. It worked with the adapter connected to the controller and then the cable connected to the adapter. But with the newer style Xbox one controllers (quieter buttons) it does not seem to work with them. I’ve tried everything

Been on the phone with Microsoft. No solution. Tried everything you mentioned. Tried 2 elite 2 controllers and a basic white one. Wireless headset and wired. System reset and updated console. Can hear games through headset but no mic at all. This is my sons machine, I use PC. The support led to a dead end. They said replace the console. Is there an internal card/module that can be replaced? This happened after October 16 2020 update. Microsoft accused me of not using xbox certified equipment. BS. Any help is greatly appreciated.
