I love how the butterfly palette is, like you said, this is definitely for a specific person, and luckily it’s perfect for me. I don’t wear bronzer, I find that it looks too harsh on me, even if I barely touch the bronzing pan. So I typically use bronzer as eyeshadow, and blush to give color and dimension to my face. Yeah I'm really confused who the Butterfly palette is for, because someone who would suit the powders is really unlikely to suit the blush and vice versa!

I love their powders and always hit pan and use all the lighter/neutral powders and bronzers but there is always 1 or 2 blushes that I barely touch that remain when the rest is 100% gone. I would LOVE to customize! I would lose my sh*t. 🤣🤣

I find it very strange that Hourglass wouldn't put a bronzer in the light or the deep palettes. The Elephant palette is definitely the way I'm going to go. I'm pleased to see steps to them being more inclusive too. Even if only baby ones.
Yeah I'm so glad to see they made 3 different shade choices for these palettes. To me the butterfly is for fair light skin, elephant is for light to medium, and the tiger is Richard tan to deep. The tiger one I've noticed doesn't look right on ppl with lighter skin. Which is great bc they truly made it for ppl with deeper skin. We all have a palette now we can pick from. That being said since u bought them all I was expecting u to use the tiger palettes deeper skin tone finishing powder as a bronzer. That palette I will say tho is made specifically for deep skintones and its about time. Thanks for buyin them all so we could see them in action this was so helpful.
Ooh, I like the new direction of Hourglass. I like having multiple palettes. Donating profits to help endangered species just warms my heart. Finally, using recycled materials is another positive. I can’t decide on my favorite. There are elements that I like out of each one.

I've been using dim light and incandescent light for years. I love it as setting my undereyes or as a finishing powder. I picked up the elephant version, after watching your demos, I want them all. 🥰
I just want you to know that you are my Saturday guilty pleaser. I binge on your videos on my Sat. Hourglass is spectacular. The Dim Light is my personal go to. I also use Diffused Light under my eyes after concealing. I have no palettes but I use The Ambient Powders everyday. This is a product I do believe I could not live without. Also when I have Wedding gigs I use the powders on everyone. I will be looking into these palettes when I get a chance as I need to build my kit with more of course for Holday gigs I have coming up soon.
I feel like someone messed up when they were putting the powders and blushes into the butterfly amd the elephant palette. They don’t go together. And I agree - why no bronzer? These are face palettes. Incomplete. Disappointing. I’ve gotten the palettes very year. The tiger one is the most interesting but it’s a bit warm for me even with my light med olive skin. I wish they had one pinky and one coral blush in each palette for blush. Glad they have three palettes this year. Thanks for reviewing!
I would choose the Butterfly. I'm very pale and don't want to use bronzer. The different finishing powders would be fun to try in different situations and they look beautiful! I thought it was gorgeous on you!

I actually love the color choices in the butterfly palette, especially the two very light colors. And I don’t miss the bronzer. I just don’t understand why they would do two almost identical blush colors. It makes no sense. I would rather have one of the coral blushes and one pink blush. But I do love that they have multiple pale shades because literally any color stands out on my pale skin. (Michele, your skin is not pale in the least compared to mine. You are light to medium. 🥰)

What I love the most about Hourglass is their marble swirls of blushes, the colors are fantastic and also visually appealing. According to my skin tone the elephant palette has the most compatible hues and shades but the blushes don’t come in swirls. I appreciate the art work but if I choose Hourglass I would definitely want some swirls in there.
Good to know about the recyclable material for the palettes. The former palettes were sturdier apparently but I’ll sacrifice that for the ability to recycle.
i have lighter skin then you and ordered the deepest pallet. the colors are stunning also you can use the dark finishing powder as a bronzer or even contour. the color is cooler which i like i also saw the other colors can also be used as an eye shadow. cant wait to receive them hope they work on my skin

Very pretty, love the artwork. I still use my Hourglass Ambient Lighting Powders during the summer to knock down some of the dewiness of some of my makeup choices lol. But I have to be very careful because powders seem to really emphasize my pores and wrinkles. 😞
These palettes (and the artwork) are beautiful, and the Hourglass holiday palette releases are always exciting to me. Oh and the donation of 5% profits is lovely! However, I think Hourglass could have done a better job with the colour stories in each palette. Only having 1 true bronzer out of the 3 palettes is very odd to me since Hourglass is pricey and there is a whole 6 pans in each palette so feel like there is no good reason for each palette to not have it’s own suited bronzer or contour. Wish each palette had at least 1 bronzer or contour (or - even better - a brontour), 1 strobe, 1 blush, 1 finishing and then 2 ‘hero shades’ where it may not be as universally pleasing but it sure is beautifully unique - like the orangey blush in the Tiger palette, and all 3 palettes have their own exclusive shades and no already existing shades. At this price point I feel like I am not asking too much of Hourglass. All that being said my favourite is definitely the Tiger palette so I may eat my words and buy that palette when it is available to buy in Australia! Love your channel and content!! Xx
I absolutely love the blushes in the butterfly one, also not a fan of bronzer but i agree i dont understand why they would put those 3 powders, they are pretty alike. Wish we could get the blushes separately or customize the palettes the way we want

Great review Michele! I love the artwork, especially the Tiger and Elephant! I definitely agree that the finishing powders are too similar in the Butterfly palette. Also, the shades in the Tiger are gorgeous, but 3 highlighters in 1 palette is a bit much.
I just bought the tiger palette, but I’m planning to use the powder as eyeshadows and hopefully blushes too. Fingers crossed that it’ll work for my skin tone. It’s too pretty to not purchase.
I'm pretty pale but the Butterfly one has the least new shades and I don't like the look of the blush colours. I've already got the face powders. I could use the Elephant palette, I can use Dim Light as a light bronzer but already have that. I've got quite a lot of the palettes from previous years so am starting to not want to buy the new ones now. They need to have new shades for me to buy them. The powders do work nicely as eyeshadows too and I would have tried that dark face powder in the Tiger palette as a bronzer.
Wow what in the world were they thinking when adding to each of these palettes? I mean they are all gorgeous but some don't belong & with the one having no bronzer it's just crazy. Would absolutely love to be able to mix and match. I doubt I will spend so much on a palette that may not work for me. I'm a medium neutral skintone. I'm thinking the Elephant may be too light & obviously the darkest one is too dark. I don't like pinky blushes either. On video these all looked more orange in shade is that true? I would have liked to see you apply one of the finishing powders, esp. in the Butterfly palette, in the same way that you apply the Meteorites, with that beloved Sonia G brush 😉, to see if they give a similar effect. Nevertheless, a thorough review of this new release by a down-to-earth youtuber.
The Butterfly 🦋 palette throws me. If they had a bronzer -would have made so much more sense. I'm guessing there is a demographic that won't buy a face palette with bronzer!
I am in that demographic (bronzer is never the tight tone for me) but there's also no way I could wear red blush so I think they missed the mark this time 😅
Which year did the one you love come out. I want to treat myself to one. Never had one. Would appreciate your input on which one ever would be best. I’m NC25, 62, light-Med but I think I can lean yellow and combo skin
Just looking at the old one it does appear it would like best on me. I know you think elephant for your skin tone but what about someone a little lighter (at least I think I am)

You know what’s funny…..I’ve started with Hourglass awhile ago with the minis….didn’t get the shades always correct and ended up using those as eyeshadow…..with dry skin I also have to be careful with the under eye….I ended up looking chalky or wrinkled….

The light palette makes no sense with those 2 very similar, overly bright blushes, and no bronzer. I have one of these palettes from a few years ago and the only thing I use in it is one blush shade, so I am probably deluding myself to think that any of these palettes would be worth it for me, but the packaging is just so so beautiful this year 🐅 🐘 🦋
Maybe they skipped a bronzer in the Butterfly palette in hopes that the fair to light customers would also purchase the Elephant....which is exactly what I did LOL And I even grabbed the Tiger just because those orange-y shades call to me, I plan on using them on my eyes in the summer.
i love the sustainability trend BUT packaging used to be the most expensive part of creating a cosmetic. Now that expense is also reduced yet we costumers still pay the full price... which means the company gets WAY more profit than before.. this is one of the main reasons i stopped purchasing high end products. they need to drop the price tag.
These pallet’s does not quite make sense to me ☺️, too many products in each one that I would never use and that would go to waste. But as usual a very good and thorough review 👌🏻
I’ve seen a few videos on these pallets and I feel like everybody gets a stripe of color no matter what type of brush they use or how much they try to blend it out they look patchy.
I liked the first two, but the last one was far too orange for your skin tone. It's definitely darker complexion friendly! That's a good thing though. The first palette was definitely the best one. I didn't understand why Hourglass put no bronzer in the second one? Strange.
I have been eyeing on their unlock palette every holiday. As beautiful as these palettes are, still doesn't justify for me to buy a palette with 2 identical blushes. Easy pass for me!

The butterfly palette reminds me of Vivienne Tam HP mini 210 laptop.
I got the tiger palette and color scheme. Happily for me I’m able to work all the shades on my skin.

All that being said my favourite is definitely the Tiger palette so I may eat my words and buy that palette when it is available to buy in Australia! Love your channel and content!! Xx

I absolutely love the blushes in the butterfly one, also not a fan of bronzer but i agree i dont understand why they would put those 3 powders, they are pretty alike. Wish we could get the blushes separately or customize the palettes the way we want

Great review Michele! I love the artwork, especially the Tiger and Elephant! I definitely agree that the finishing powders are too similar in the Butterfly palette. Also, the shades in the Tiger are gorgeous, but 3 highlighters in 1 palette is a bit much.

I just bought the tiger palette, but I’m planning to use the powder as eyeshadows and hopefully blushes too. Fingers crossed that it’ll work for my skin tone. It’s too pretty to not purchase.
I'm pretty pale but the Butterfly one has the least new shades and I don't like the look of the blush colours. I've already got the face powders. I could use the Elephant palette, I can use Dim Light as a light bronzer but already have that. I've got quite a lot of the palettes from previous years so am starting to not want to buy the new ones now. They need to have new shades for me to buy them. The powders do work nicely as eyeshadows too and I would have tried that dark face powder in the Tiger palette as a bronzer.
Wow what in the world were they thinking when adding to each of these palettes? I mean they are all gorgeous but some don't belong & with the one having no bronzer it's just crazy. Would absolutely love to be able to mix and match. I doubt I will spend so much on a palette that may not work for me. I'm a medium neutral skintone. I'm thinking the Elephant may be too light & obviously the darkest one is too dark. I don't like pinky blushes either. On video these all looked more orange in shade is that true? I would have liked to see you apply one of the finishing powders, esp. in the Butterfly palette, in the same way that you apply the Meteorites, with that beloved Sonia G brush 😉, to see if they give a similar effect. Nevertheless, a thorough review of this new release by a down-to-earth youtuber.
The Butterfly 🦋 palette throws me. If they had a bronzer -would have made so much more sense. I'm guessing there is a demographic that won't buy a face palette with bronzer!
I am in that demographic (bronzer is never the tight tone for me) but there's also no way I could wear red blush so I think they missed the mark this time 😅
Which year did the one you love come out. I want to treat myself to one. Never had one. Would appreciate your input on which one ever would be best. I’m NC25, 62, light-Med but I think I can lean yellow and combo skin

Just looking at the old one it does appear it would like best on me. I know you think elephant for your skin tone but what about someone a little lighter (at least I think I am)

Michele, great job in making all 3 palettes work. I would of liked seeing what the brown shade in the tiger palette looked like as a bronzer on you. My favorite is the elephant too because of my skin tone. 😊❤️
You know what’s funny…..I’ve started with Hourglass awhile ago with the minis….didn’t get the shades always correct and ended up using those as eyeshadow…..with dry skin I also have to be careful with the under eye….I ended up looking chalky or wrinkled….

The light palette makes no sense with those 2 very similar, overly bright blushes, and no bronzer. I have one of these palettes from a few years ago and the only thing I use in it is one blush shade, so I am probably deluding myself to think that any of these palettes would be worth it for me, but the packaging is just so so beautiful this year 🐅 🐘 🦋

Maybe they skipped a bronzer in the Butterfly palette in hopes that the fair to light customers would also purchase the Elephant....which is exactly what I did LOL And I even grabbed the Tiger just because those orange-y shades call to me, I plan on using them on my eyes in the summer.
i love the sustainability trend BUT packaging used to be the most expensive part of creating a cosmetic. Now that expense is also reduced yet we costumers still pay the full price... which means the company gets WAY more profit than before.. this is one of the main reasons i stopped purchasing high end products. they need to drop the price tag.
These pallet’s does not quite make sense to me ☺️, too many products in each one that I would never use and that would go to waste. But as usual a very good and thorough review 👌🏻
I’ve seen a few videos on these pallets and I feel like everybody gets a stripe of color no matter what type of brush they use or how much they try to blend it out they look patchy.
Forget the palettes; I got the Alexis Bittar earrings...
I liked the first two, but the last one was far too orange for your skin tone. It's definitely darker complexion friendly! That's a good thing though. The first palette was definitely the best one. I didn't understand why Hourglass put no bronzer in the second one? Strange.
I have been eyeing on their unlock palette every holiday. As beautiful as these palettes are, still doesn't justify for me to buy a palette with 2 identical blushes. Easy pass for me!
