If you believe that verse in that jesus is god then that means that god is not the all powerful and god forgets .
God is not the all powerful cuz surprisingly his own creation decided to crucify him and he couldn’t do nothing about it , now sure christians will say it was his choice to be crucified but if it really was jesus wouldn’t have said oh god what have you put me in help me .
And God being forgetful is due to the passage where jesus was looking at a fig tree from a far but then when came close to it he found out that the tree has no figs in it making him strike and curse it .
I can also give another example is where the bible mentions that the hour is not known by anyone but the father not the son nor the angels only the father knows but wait a minute doesn’t the Bible state that before Abraham was Iam 😂.
The examples that I mention shows that the understanding of the verse is not correct and is inconsistent with other verses of the bible .
To any Christian that read my whole comment just think about your faith don’t take it blindly risking an entire afterlife just because (that was what taught to you ) . You only live once just read the Quran you never know you might understand the meaning of God and how he is different from us . Have a good day

      @@justwrite11 Very Interesting!!
Let me explain it what the verse you quoted is all about:-
" Then the word of the Lord came to me, saying: "Before I formed you in the womb I knew you; before you were born I sanctified you; I ordained you a prophet to the nations."- Jeremiah 1:5
Then the word of the Lord came to me:: Jeremiah had a personal encounter with the Lord. He was apparently raised in a godly, priestly home - yet he had to have a personal encounter with God and His word.
Before I formed you in the womb I knew you... I ordained you a prophet to the nations::Jeremiah was already a young man, but God wanted him to know that his call went back even further than his youth. Jeremiah existed in the mind and plan of God before he ever existed in his mother's womb. God told Jeremiah this so that he could walk in God's pre-ordained plan by his own will.
      i. This information wasn't given just to interest Jeremiah or to entertain him. It was given so that he would know God's will, be encouraged by that, and therefore align his will with God's revealed will.
ii. "St. Paul speaks of his own call to preach the Gospel to the Gentiles in similar terms (Galatians 1:15-16)." (Clarke)
iii. Ancient Jewish legends say that Jeremiah was so called that he was born circumcised and that he came out of the womb prophesying. In fact, as the legend goes, in his out-of-the-womb prophecy he complained of the faithlessness of his mother. When she protested, he had to explain that he meant "mother" as a symbol for Jerusalem.
A prophet to the nations:: Jeremiah’s focus us upon Judah in the last decades before the Babylonians conquered it. Yet his work as a prophet was not only for Judah, but also for the nations.

Don't believe everything your Islamic leaders tell you
Jesus claimed to be God, received worship reserved for God, and was called God by others while affirming they were right MULTIPLE TIMES
John 20:27-29 - Then He said to Thomas, “Reach here with your finger, and see My hands; and reach here your hand and put it into My side; and do not be unbelieving, but believing.” Thomas answered and said to Him, “MY LORD AND MY GOD!” Jesus said to him, “Because you have seen Me, have you believed? Blessed are they who did not see, and yet believed.”
Mark 2:27-28 - Jesus said to them, “The Sabbath was made for man, and not man for the Sabbath. So the Son of Man IS LORD even of the Sabbath.” (We know Yahweh (Old Testament title for God) is the Lord of the Sabbath; Jesus calls Himself Yahweh)
John 1:1-2; 14 - In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word WAS GOD. He was in the beginning with God... 14 And the Word became flesh, and dwelt among us, and we saw His glory, glory as of the only begotten from the Father, full of grace and truth.
John 5:18 - For this reason therefore the Jews were seeking all the more to kill Him, because He not only was breaking the Sabbath, but also was calling God His own Father, making Himself EQUAL WITH GOD.
John 10:30 - “I and the Father ARE ONE.” (Jesus said that He and God are one... Please don't ignore this)
John 14:8-9 - Philip said to Him, “Lord, show us the Father, and it is enough for us.” Jesus said to him, “Have I been so long with you, and yet you have not come to know Me, Philip? HE WHO HAS SEEN ME HAS SEEN THE FATHER; how can you say, ‘Show us the Father’?
John 13:14-15 - If I then, THE LORD and the Teacher, washed your feet, you also ought to wash one another’s feet.
Isaiah 9:6 - For a child will be born to us, a son will be given to us; And the government will rest on His shoulders; And His name will be called Wonderful Counselor, MIGHTY GOD, Eternal Father, Prince of Peace. (You see, even the Old Testament prophesied that the Messiah was God).
      Who is the ‘I AM’?
It is God’s revealed name in the Old Testament book of Exodus:
Exodus 3:14 - God said to Moses, “I AM WHO I AM”; and He said, “Thus you shall say to the sons of Israel, ‘I AM has sent me to you.’”
John 8:58 - Jesus said to them, “Truly, truly, I say to you, before Abraham was born, I AM.”
      1) He identifies himself with the name of God.
      2) He doesn’t say I was, but I am. So he was pre-existent before Abraham and has not changed his Godly essence since then.
Who is the ‘First and the Last’?
Isaiah 44:6 Thus says the LORD, the King of Israel and his Redeemer, the LORD of hosts: “I am the FIRST AND I AM THE LAST; BESIDES ME THERE IS NO GOD.”
Revelation 1:17-18 When I saw him (Jesus), I fell at his feet as though dead. But he laid his right hand on me, saying, “Fear not, I AM THE FIRST AND THE LAST, and the living one. I died, and behold I am alive forevermore, and I have the keys of Death and Hades.
      Who is allowed worship?
Deuteronomy 6:13 - You shall fear only the Lord your God; and you shall WORSHIP HIM AND SWEAR BY HIS NAME.
Matthew 28:9 - And behold, Jesus met them and greeted them. And they came up and took hold of His feet and WORSHIPED Him.
Matthew 14:33 - And those who were in the boat WORSHIPED HIM, saying, “You are certainly God’s Son!”
Luke 24:50-52 - And He led them out as far as Bethany, and He lifted up His hands and blessed them. While He was blessing them, He parted from them and was carried up into heaven. And they, after WORSHIPING Him, returned to Jerusalem with great joy
Who did John the Baptist prepare the way for?
Matthew 3:1-3 - Now in those days John the Baptist came, preaching in the wilderness of Judea, saying, “Repent, for the kingdom of heaven is at hand.” For this is the one referred to by Isaiah the prophet when he said,
“The voice of one crying in the wilderness, ‘Make ready the way of THE LORD, Make His paths straight!’”
      - John had prepared the way for Jesus, THE LORD (which is the title applied to God in the Old Testament)

@@michaal105 Jesus never claimed once to be God. The verses after John 10:30 explains clearly what he meant by “I and my father are one”. Eight days later, his disciples were inside again, and Thomas was with them. Although the doors were locked, Jesus came and stood among them and said, “Peace be with you.” 27 Then he said to Thomas, “Put your finger here, and see my hands; and put out your hand, and place it in my side. Do not disbelieve, but believe.” 28 Thomas answered him, “My Lord and my God!” 29 Jesus said to him, “Have you believed because you have seen me? Blessed are those who have not seen and yet have believed.”
May i know., In this pharase why Jesus never deny it and said to Thomas that he is not
God, if he just a prophet means?why he did accepted that worship when Thomas said my lord n My God?

    • @aahlstrom93
      @aahlstrom93 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

The prophet Jeremiah was pre-existent in a figurative manner. Jesus was pre-existant in a person, concious manner. That is made evident in Phillipians 2:6-7 where it says
"though he [Jesus] was in the form of God, did not count equality with God a thing to be grasped, but emptied himself, by taking the form of a servant, being born in the likeness of men."
Notice what it says: He emptied himself. This implicates that the Son had a conscious pre-existence, and that Him becoming incarnate was His own doing. It does NOT say "God emptied him, by taking the form of a servant, being born in the likeness of men."

@يوسف محسن No no no that is the English translation. The original language was most definitely be referring to the creator. IL is a translation or transliteration into English and other languages but that is not at all what the original language was Saying. The translation or transliteration try the best to make it as close as possible. When the God or creator says to Moses on top of a mountain were no one is a round fat the you call me I am that I am . Everywhere you look and everything you see is because I am all that there is and there is nothing else other than me which is I am the creator of everything . You need to go back and look at the original meaning and not the English translation of I am. If I tell you Allah is the IM Creek 8 or M master of everything and the past frezza n't in future and everything there happens is because I am existing. Don't you understand I am existing and because I am existing you can call me Allah or you can come me God or you can call me what you wish but at the end of every single moment you need to realize IM the everything that is created everything before and I continue creating and I am in control of everything therefore I am over the world and universe therefore I am. If this doesn't make sense than brother I am very sorry that you do not understand that there's no difference because if God soeurs I am everything I am everything you can imagine and I am everything this happen in the past the present and future. There is no one else but me because IM everything is was being said but please please go back and look at the original and language and just for you information your creator doesn't only speak Arabic or Hebrew but he speaks every language in the world and even the angels haven't language of their own

John 1:14 ---> Not something Jesus said. Jesus was being challenged and argued with by the Pharisees. Basically, he's probably referring to Jeremiah 1:5. Jesus was referencing the old testament. This is evident after he said in John 10:30, "I and the father are one". Many Christians used this to say Jesus claimed to be God. The Jews stoned him, and said that he's claiming to be God. So Jesus responded by quoting Psalm 82:2 "I said, "'You are Gods"; You are all sons of the most high"
So, when you say "Only Son", you're not referring to something Jesus said.

The mental gymnastics Shabir had to undertake in this video to try and prove his point was truly something incredible! Shabir, it's ok to say you have no answer at the moment, you even said that it's in reference to the Old Testament which is further than most Muslims actually go when trying to debunk the verse, but as with all attempting to refute this, it just plummets into literally just saying words for the sake of saying words.

As a Christian, I’ve always admired Dr. Shabir’s professionalism, intelligence, and his knowledge of the Bible. I pray that he and many Muslim brothers and sisters leave religion based on rituals and traditions and come into a personal-spiritual relationship with Christ founded on faith alone.
You can have the same Holy Spirit that was in Jesus come reside in your heart if you ask your Heavenly Father for it. That is the real you! For it is no longer I that live, but Christ who lives in me. Greater is He that is in you than he that is of the world.
Religion divides and controls people. Jesus despised religion and in fact, Jesus was sent for all the people of the world. No priest , no imam, no pastor, no sheikh. Jesus said you are the temple and your heart is where the Holy Spirit will reside.

The reason he doesn’t say “I was “ and said instead “I am” is bc that’s what the Angel of the Lord/God/YHWH said to Moses in Exodus. He said “I AM WHO I AM…tell them I AM sent you” so Jesus said those words like that bc that’s what they knew from their God. Further in John they tried to stone him again bc they said HE A MAN MAKES HIMSELF GOD. THEY KNEW WHAT HE WAS SAYING AND JESUS KNEW WHAT HE WAS SAYING. youd think if He meant that he was just the son of God He would have just clarified in that moment but He didn’t say “what I meant was I am the son of God and I know Abraham bc God made him through me. I’m actually just the son” there he said the name God identified as in multiple parts of the Old Testament. Also in John Jesus says “Now I tell you that before it comes, that when it does come to pass, you may believe that I AM HE” and that connects back to many times in Isaiah and hen God said stuff like “that you may know and believe and understand that I AM HE”, “that I am God. Indeed before the day was, I AM HE”, “even in your old age, I AM HE” and Jesus in the book of John said “I AM HE” n knocked over those guards by saying “I AM HE”. John simplified it “ in the beginning was the word, and the word was with God and the word was God. He was in the beginning with God. All things were made through Him, and without Him nothing was made that was made.” Jesus is God and He always was.

Exodus 3:14 and John 8:58 does not express the same thought
We know that they do not because at Exodus 3:14 the Greek Septuagint Version (the translation that was often quoted by the apostles in the first century C.E.) reads, e•goʹ ei•miʹ ho Ohnʹ, “I am the Being.” This is quite different from the simple use of the words e•goʹ ei•miʹ (I am) at John 8:58. The verb ei•miʹ, at John 8:58, is evidently in the historical present, as Jesus was speaking about himself in relation to Abraham’s past. Numerous translators indicate this in their renderings. For example, An American Translation reads: “I existed before Abraham was born!”
Not once, however, does the Bible state that Jesus is coeternal with God. Though Jesus enjoyed a prehuman existence of unspecified length in heaven, the Bible shows that he had a beginning of existence. He is called “the image of the invisible God, the first-born of all creation” and “the beginning [Greek, arké] of God’s creation.”-Col. 1:15; Rev. 3:14. The very fact that Jesus is called the “Son of God” reveals that he was produced by the Father and is, therefore, his firstborn and only-begotten Son. Jesus himself said: “I live because of the Father.” (John 6:57) After having come into existence, the Son was used in creating everything. (John 1:1-3; Col. 1:15-17; Heb. 1:2) As firstborn Son, this one enjoyed a special intimacy with the Father. He is spoken of in Scripture as being “in the bosom position with the Father.”-John 1:18. At John 8:58, once again the King James Version has Jesus using the expression “I am” in connection with himself, saying, “Before Abraham was, I am.” But here the expression is quite different from the one used at Exodus 3:14. Jesus did not use it as a name or title but simply as a means of explaining his prehuman existence. Thus, according to the New World Translation, the more correct rendering of John 8:58 is: “Before Abraham came into existence, I have been.”
Clearly, no Scriptural basis exists for the claim that Jesus is the same as Jehovah of the Hebrew Scriptures. Even the teacher’s manual previously quoted admits: “That Christ existed before His birth in Bethlehem does not in itself prove He was God (He could have existed as an angel).” In fact, this is what the Bible teaches. In his prehuman existence, Jesus was “a god,” or divine one, but not the God, the almighty God Jehovah.-John 1:1-3; 1 Thessalonians 4:16. Plus Jesus would not have contradicted himself, Why did Jesus correct a certain man for calling Him “Good Teacher”? By thus refusing to accept this flattering title, Jesus directed glory to Jehovah and indicated that the true God is the source of all good things. Moreover, Jesus drew attention to the fundamental truth that the Creator of all things, Jehovah God, alone has the right to set the standards of good and bad.-Matt. 19:16, 17; Luke 18:18, 19
In several instances in the Greek Scriptures men are called “good”. Yet when a young man called Jesus “good” he was rebuked and was told that none was good but God. Why?-
The record tells of the rich young ruler who questioned Jesus: “Good Teacher, what must I do to inherit everlasting life?” Jesus said to him: “Why do you call me good? Nobody is good, except one, God.”-Mark 10:17, 18; Luke 18:18, 19, NW.

That "Iam" only applies to the One true God, Allah, that the Great "I am" came in the man Jesus so that He could come to mingle Himself with His creation man to draw near to man.

Notice a few verses earlier Jesus said that he saw Abraham. He is going back to Genesis 18 where Abraham personally talked to God face to face. This could not have been the Father because the Father does not have a physical body, and if you stand in the presence of the Father, you can die. Do you recall what happened to Moses when he was in the presence of God in the burning bush? He was frightened because he knew that being in the very presence of The Father is enough to kill you. So if that was The Father talking to Abraham, why didn't he die? The only way you can understand this passage is if Jesus is God and that it was him who was eating with Abraham. So Shabir Ally you're wrong. Jesus was not just claiming to be ancient, he was claiming to be the divine figure who ate with Abraham in Genesis 18:1-10. There is absolutely no way that you can understand this passage correctly unless Jesus is God.

Mark 1:1The begging of the gospel of Jesus Christ, the Son of God.2As it is written in Isaiah the prophet Behold, I send my messenger before your face, who will prepare your way. 3 the voice crying in the wilderness. Prepare the way if the Lord make his path straight. In the Septuagint version of Isaiah it actually says,Isaiah40:3 The voice of one crying in the wilderness, Prepare ye the way of the Lord, make straight the paths of our God.While some textual variation in Mark the Son of God phrase is not some of early ones even we were to take it out. In context, when Jesus said "before Abraham was I am", I believe he was referencing himself being the promised seed that was promised to Eve before Abraham. They wanted to stone him because he was claiming to be greater than Abraham, which is a big deal to the Jews who nearly worshipped him. John the Baptist said that they shouldn't think that just because Abraham was their father they should exalt themselves, which was their boast. The next chapter, the blind man Jesus heals also says "I am" which is the same phrase in Greek. All it means is "I am he" or "it's me". Jesus never says "I am that I am"

Why?-

If somebody claims he's krishna, the Hindus would definitely recognize that he is claiming to be their God. The Great "I Am" is the God of Israelites. Jesus had been more specific in his Claim that he doesn't confuse people with himself being one among the many pagan Gods rather being the monotheistic God. Caesar declared himself to be God. Jesus could not be more clearer than this. The Jews instantly understood his claim and that's why they charged him of Blasphemy

But each one is tempted when he is drawn away by his own desires and enticed. Then, when desire has conceived, it gives birth to sin; and sin, when it is full-grown, brings forth death. Do not be deceived, my beloved brethren. Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and comes down from the Father of lights, with whom there is no variation or shadow of turning.

See John.20:28 where Thomas calls Him my Lord and my God. The truth is set before you and its up to you to accept it. And Peter answered "You are the Christ, the son of the living God" (Matt. 16:13-20) Seems to me a pretty good time for Jesus to correct him if he was in fact God, but he did not. In fact Jesus never said he was God. But he did say he was a son of God and he told the woman at the well he was also the foretold Messiah.
