Mexican drug cartels created their own fentanyl crisis

  • Fentanyl is killing more Americans than ever. It's blamed for more than 70 thousand fatal overdoses each year.
    (Subscribe: bit.ly/C4_News_Subscribe)
US authorities say the synthetic opioid is mostly produced in Mexico and trafficked across the border. But addiction and deaths are also on the rise in Mexican towns and cities.
When smuggling into the US all but stopped during the pandemic, the cartels unleashed fentanyl on their own population. Now they're trying to clean up the mess.
Our Latin America Correspondent Guillermo Galdos travelled to Tijuana, to see how it's going.
His report shows images of drug use.

I started doing drugs since my teenage, got addicted to fentanyl. I suffered severe depression and mental disorder. Fentanyl addiction actually destroyed my life. Not until my wife recommended me to psilocybin mushrooms treatment. Psilocybin treatment saved my life honestly. 4 years totally clean. Never thought I would be saying this about mushrooms.

Imagine the lives that could've been saved if the drug wasn't trafficked & people didn't get hooked on them. Though controversially 1 trafficker on death row was rerported to have low IQ, but I think our gov't believed he was lying. Some netizens accused his mother of being complicit as she didn't stop him from trafficking, maybe because their family was poor and attracted by the income from trafficking. Another trafficker ended up on death row when customs official found narcotics concealed inside the body of the motorbike he was riding, which he claimed he'd borrowed from a friend, but officials apparently didn't believe they were friends

Now it's gotten scarier with fentanyl, and Xylaxine horse tranquilizer or elephant tranquilizer, even if you happen to come across the original heroin/pink sleeping pills it won't do anything because your tolerance has exceeded and it's sad. I have 2 years clean and my body is barely starting to get to normality I surrendered after finding out the dealer was giving me Tranq horse tranquilizer and fentanyl Xylaxine is not an opiate and Narcan won't work.
