Thanks so much! I'm glad I was able to share this with people who couldn't make it, as well as people who were there to experience it. So glad that people are stoked that this exists.
I was at this show. It was a free "secret" show that they put on to compensate for the fact that an outdoor show that had been scheduled for earlier that day had been canceled due to rain. We had to wait in line for hours to get in (and not everybody who was waiting even managed to get in), it was brutally hot in the venue, and it was the best show I've ever been to by far. The energy in there was unlike any show I've ever been to, before or since. Pure, unhinged, lunatic joy.
i dont know what it is about this video that keeps me coming back every day. the audio is ok, the video a little shakey yet there is something about this band(who i love), this venue, the crowd and I just dont know what else it is, but this has become one of my fav vids since i found it earlier this summer. i have honestly watched this at least 100 times over the last couple months and i dont see that stopping anytime soon. im only writing this because my wife said to me "again with this video"
I only got in for the last two songs because they'd hit capacity as I was waiting in line, but holy shit. Best show of my life. Thank you for filming this.
Guuuuuh I so so so want to go to a show like this. I’m EXTREMELY happy to have seen them finally the other month with Hives but Hives brought in all these people who just stood around. Less than half it seemed were for refused. We were the only ones dancing and moshing and pushing. And it was such a big venue with a a tall stage (Electric Factory or whatever they call it now...) I know Refused did a show at Underground Arts after a main show a few years prior. I missed both shows. Really hope I can see something like this one day.
I was at their first secret show in 2012 in Umeå Sweden, their first show in 18 years.. don't know if they had told anyone about their reunion at that time. It was about 200 People in the audience, and yea.. it was an alright evening
Badass video. Just saw them last week in Portland. I had no idea what to expect (after so many years) and they blew my mind all over the theater. It was a legendary night with a legendary band. NOT. FUCKING. DEAD.
Firestorm (Earth Crisis cover) Worms of the Senses / Faculties of the Skull The Refused Party Program Rather Be Dead Coup d'état The Shape of Punk to Come New Noise Everlasting Summerholidays vs. Punkroutine
I saw them first at the Weekend 1 Coachella and when that smoke popped off during Tannhauser it A) took me by surprise B) made it worth the trip out to Cali. They did it again in SF a few days later and everyone was commenting on how awesome it was. A few days later they DIDNT do it in NYC and the gig was still outrageous. Cant wait to see them in BK with OFF! and out in LA for FYF. GREAT video, sir.
To Jonathan Yi, Thank you for filming this. Do you know if there is any soundboard audio from the show to link to this footage? If so, you should contact the band about releasing this on DVD. This is, without a doubt, the most memorable part of their tour so far. We are grateful to YOU for sharing this! (no disrespect to the iphone videos, but his camera is REAL)
Fucking amazing! Refused was the first real heavy band I started listening to (back in 1998) and I still haven´t seen them live yet. Remember playing Rather be Dead with the old band..
Man what a crowed, remind me of the old refused days in Sweden :) Way to fuck shit up and the band seems to rely enjoy themselves!! Hat of for Brooklyn!
@2:40 I heard they all drank now, and that everyone but Dennis even drank alcohol while Refused was still together. Something that caused tension. I guess even he drinks now. I knew it! Kind of makes lyrics to some of their songs hypocritical now... but whatever. It doesn't mean they still can't acknowledge a lot of the negatives to drug use.
THIS is refused. saw them @groezrock and even if the show was awesome musicwise... come on. The gigantic REFUSED drape, the firework shit on Tannhauser/Derive.... leave that bullshit for bands like muse.
Good god man! Audio 101. If you're going to record a loud rock band live, use a mic that can handle high SPLs (sound pressure levels) This audio quality is complete shit..
Matt Carey Cmon man, it is what it is. I rather say tnx to this guy that someone recorded this amazing show at all, reminds me of the old days seeing them here in Sweden.

Wait no, the show I'm thinking of was in July of 2012, not April. Shit. It ruled too!

Now THAT is a gig. Refused in their element... reminds me of seeing them in a hotel basement circa 1999.

I've watched this prob 20 times. Absolutely amazing. Unbelievable amount of energy, captures the band so well.
This is still my favorite Refused live video. I don't think it'll ever be topped.

this is the kind of setting they're made for! No matter how big they were and still are!
11:25 - Then 11:36 "Oh, it's about to get REAL!" . LOVE IT!
I remember kids up front screaming "Pump the Brakes!" and Dennis final got fed up and said, "WE DON'T FUCKING KNOW PUMP THE BREAKS! SORRY!"
I'm glad people are digging the video even if the quality isn't so good (tried my best but it was chaotic as hell in there)!
This video is great, thanks for making the effort to record and share it!
