Great Cabin Tent Lighting on the Cheap

A more budget-friendly option to the LumiNoodle. I was looking for a simple, basic LED strip to light up my cabin tent without all the fancy bells n whistles of the expensive stuff. I just wanted on, off, and the ability to dim.... preferably using an RF remote.

I can power it from my DIY Power Well ( • DIY Power Well v2.0 ), or from a TalentCell Power Supply (which is how I usually power it):

The ebay seller that I purchased my extension cords through does not have them listed at the moment, but they're very standard sizes and can be found at any brick-n-mortar or online lighting store. I have 6, 12, 18 and 30-foot extensions.
All the cords are 'standard' connections for 12v LED lighting (5.5mm x 2.1mm coaxial).
In order to make it all work, you may need a double-ended 'reversing' (male-to-male) connection.

your information was great wish you would have shown actual mechanics of building it and connections to power source. did I miss the power source? Can I connect this off a car battery?

I use either a portable charger battery bank (the type you charge your phone with), or my DIY Power Well. Yes, a car battery will drive them because they're 12vDC, just make sure you don't drain your battery so far it won't start your vehicle.

The luminoodle uses a standard USB port to function. There isn't anything proprietary about them.

Luminoodles can run way cheaper than 40, they run off usb, and they have very simple remotes

They're listed on the manufacturers website as 12 volts.... and if you can find one, it's still 90 bucks.

It's common for the manufacturer to change colors. My only suggestion is to try places like ebay and Craigslist. You might find a used or new-in-box one.
