    Based on her floor and beam, I don't think you need any clearer evidence that Russia has brought the ballet training ALL the way back. LOVE TO SEE IT

      I know!! This new generation of Russian gymnasts are quite reminiscent of the older pack from the early 2010s. That real balletic grace and fluidity. Great to see Actual artistic elements combined with gymnastics. I love to see it too!

    you can tell russian gymnasts incorporate ballet training into their regimen. they prep correctly for turns (weight forward, port-de-bras placed evenly through shoulders and back for the most part), and their turns are even and controlled. their lines on ub, bb, and while dancing on fx are entirely created by barre training/balletic conditioning.

    What an exciting time for Russian gymnastics, as a fan, have been waiting and wanting this new generation to break thru and here they are. What a win for Viktoria. I expect her and Vladislava to really shine at Olympics and Worlds. Can’t wait

      She has so much potential. She have a good chance for all around, bars, and floor. Hope she will upgrade her vault into amanar because her baitova is really good and she have a good heigh on it.

      @@alexgaming8834 to her credit, Listunova absolutely shined in the team final. And Urazova was so close AA. I prefer her, but I’m okay it was Gelya because the youngsters have years ahead to shine.

    She made the wolf turn (the ugliest move ever) look pretty.

    • @kmurphy3100
      @kmurphy3100 3 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      I had that same thought! I was listening to people talk about how gymnasts should stop doing wolf turns because of how sloppy and ugly they always are. But hers were actually nice and not flailing.

  • @lewisovhebn
    @lewisovhebn 3 ปีที่แล้ว +40

    Does anyone else think gymnasts rush their block on vault and need to be a bit more patient? (Closed shoulder angles and turn too early)

    • @GennaHoyt
      @GennaHoyt 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Definitely with this gymnast. That's the first thing I noticed about her block- began twisting way too early. I thought she might have actually begun twisting while on the horse still, but after replaying it she starts twisting immediately after instead of waiting to get some height first

  • @brandonaldaymachuse6669

    Pretty nice but how come every Russia does the giant half instead of a cast half pirouette and how come they also have a sketchy dismount with leg form?

    • @enchantedella6495
      @enchantedella6495 3 ปีที่แล้ว +23

      the giant half drives me crazy. built-in deduction nearly every time

    • @Libaluff
      @Libaluff 3 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      They certainly do have some faults and I take on board what you say about built in deductions. But I sometimes do wonder why people comment, only to point out the faults. I could equally comment that Biles’ acrobatics are wonderful, but she has poor toe point and line in all of her work, and her wolf spins are crooked.

    • @enchantedella6495
      @enchantedella6495 3 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      @@Libaluff I agree with you about Biles and it never bothers me when her faults are brought up because he fans are some of the worst when it comes to being in denial, thinking she is perfect. If the fanatical fan base would stop acting like their favorites are perfect then others wouldn't feel the need to point out the facts. I like Listunova but her form needs work. I liked Komova but her form needed work and guess what she did? She fixed her form.For the most part.

      Let's remember Simone felt twice in 2018 AA and her margin over Xijing in 2019 AA was of 2.1 points. I don't expect that to happen, but I wouldn't say that's a impossible scenario. She knows her program is getting too risky, that's why she didn't use the Biles vault and Biles beam dismount during 2019 finals.

    • @marsbars2889

      @@pedrojorge1912 if ou yushan is in form I would think that Simone would really have to go for it. Ou yushan has a Dty, 6.3 on bars, 7.5 on beam and 6+ floor. While I'm confident that Simone hitting would secure her the gold, not hitting would make it an actual competition.

    Her turns on floor are breathtakingly beautiful. Once again, we see strong bars and floor from the Russian AAers... but struggle on beam. Every Olympic cycle, I wonder if some of the stereotypes by country will change. Most times, I'm not surprised. For the last 5 cycles, it's been US & Romanians weak on Bars, UK and Russia weak on Beam, & Chinese weak on Floor & Vault. Yes, Cheng Fei and Madison Kocian have been outliers.
