The cards themselves are nothing special and the normal ones are even cheaper, but without Nintendo style. My Switch Lite has a 128GB Sandisk with mushroom and the normal Switch has a 128GB Samsung EVO Plus. I hardly have any digital games for the NIntendo, almost all of them are game cards.

Hey guys. I have a question if thats ok please! My nieces will be getting a switch in November as a joint birthday and Ive told their mum to ONLY buy Physical games as opposed to downloading. I want to get them either a Sandisk official mario star 256GB or a animal crossing 512GB card but I'm unsure which one? I only really want them to have the one SD card with plenty of memory so they don't have to worry about storage space for saving games in the future and not have to keep swopping out the SD cards (they are only kids so they don't know these things and i don't want them breaking it). They will probably own up to 10 or just over games in the next few years. the only thing i'll download for them is the DLC for one or 2 games like ZELDA and its future sequel :) . is 256GB plenty of space for just physical copies of games or should I buy the 512GB just to make sure??? the latter is pricey! cheers guys, stay safe :)
tbh if you are good on money just get the 512 gb since you'll never really have to worry about needing more space but the 256 would probably be sufficient as well so its just up to you either would be fine imo

That all just kinda depends on you! There are certainly much cheaper microSD card options out there, but nothing is preventing you from getting this one if you want it! Also, I would usually recommend the Switch mostly for the exclusive games and portable capabilities, but if you don’t care about the games and already have the MacBook that you can carry around in your backpack, then I guess you don’t need it I wouldn’t say. Hope you enjoy that M1 Max 16-inch! Kinda jealous 😂 I’m perfectly happy with my current MacBook Pro, but the M1 Max one is admittedly pretty awesome

Still hope to play it properly someday! I will warn you that some games, like Portal, have not released 64-bit variants at the moment and since 32-bit games no longer work with newer versions of MacOS, you might not be able to play them on your new M1 Max MBP. Something you may want to consider and look into if you haven’t yet. Hope that 2012 MacBook keeps holding up until you’re able to get a new one!

Can someone help me cause I’ve bought a sd card and when I put it in my switch freezes so I take it out and reset the switch then put it in when it’s off then when I turn it on again it freezes instantly is there any solution for this
I haven’t had or heard of that issue before. Very odd. I was having SD card issues the other day, where my Switch wouldn’t recognize that there was a card in the slot, but that magically corrected itself in a few days. So I’d see if it’s magically fixed in a few days. Otherwise, sorry, I don’t know. Maybe someone else has experience with this
Hello! I am new to this. My friend bought my 4 year old son a switch last Christmas. I’m deciding to buy them digitally now , and I’m going to buy a sd card. My question is when I purpose the digital games will they be saved on my Nintendo switch account for my son forever or only on the sd? I’m just asking in case anything ever happens to the switch or sd. Like if it entire switch ever gets damaged will my purchased games be linked to my Nintendo account ?
Yes, the purchased games are redownloadable from the Nintendo eShop at any time if they are ever deleted from the device or the SD Card is damaged. If the system is damaged, you will have to deregister the damaged switch and your “primary device” and assign a new “primary device,” as you can only start downloads from one “primary device” at a time. Which I’ve never done and have heard that it can be a bit of a pain, but in short, yes you can redownload games from your Nintendo account later. The only thing that will be unrecoverable without a Nintendo Switch Online subscription is game progress, but this would be the same as cartridges too, as game save data always saves to the console or sd card only, even with physical games.

Probably something wrong with either the card or your system’s microSD card reader. You could try restarting your system to make sure it’s not a software glitch.
Four months later... have you had any problems with it? Also.. I’m assuming you CANNOT move your Animal Crossing island this way? I heard it’s locked to your system and cannot be moved??
I have not had any problems so far! I personally have never played an animal crossing game, so I am not sure how that works. I know that all save files are locked to your individual system; so you can transfer between SD cards to be inserted into the same system, but if you place that SD card into another system it won't work. So my understanding is that game save files are locked to your system, but not necessarily any specific SD card, you can just only access said files with your own system. I would assume Animal Crossing works the same way, but I cannot be certain as I've never tried it.
Nah, not yet. I’ve gone back to buying mostly physical games though so. If I was still buying all digital then yeah I might have needed to upgrade by now, but luckily not

Most likely a faulty SD card or a damaged SD card reader on your Switch. I’d check with Scandisk and see if you can get a replacement under warranty, and if that doesn’t work, contact Nintendo about repair. You can also try restarting your Switch and making sure the software is up to date if it’s a software issue
I’m really not sure. I had an issue like that once and restarting my Switch fixed it, so maybe try that. If not, it’s probably an issue with either the card or port on the Switch itself.
It’s just a standard MicroSD card, so as long as your phone has a MicroSD card slot, I believe it should work! Haven’t tried it in any other device myself, but I don’t believe it to be locked to Nintendo Switch only

In my experience, you just pop in the factory new microSD card and go. I've done so with three different microSDs and it has worked just fine!
