A walk through Bourbon Street & Royal Street in the French Quarter District of New Orleans. Bourbon Street is full of wild parties, music, and tourists every night. However, it is especially wild on weekend nights and during Mardis Gras.
From Wikipedia:
"Bourbon Street (French: Rue Bourbon) is a historic street in the heart of the French Quarter of New Orleans. Extending thirteen blocks from Canal Street to Esplanade Avenue, Bourbon Street is famous for its many bars and strip clubs.
With 17.74 million visitors in 2017 alone, New Orleans depends on Bourbon Street as a main tourist attraction. Tourist numbers have been growing yearly after the devastation of Hurricane Katrina in 2005, and the city has successfully rebuilt its tourist base. For millions of visitors each year, Bourbon Street provides a rich insight into New Orleans' past."

Best time to walk around B street and have a few drinks is afternoon to early evening. You can sit down and relax and chat up a bartender and locals without much of a problem. Not a real fan of B street at night as the music is pretty generic and the food over priced. Oh well it is fun to bar hop in the afternoon when its not packed like a sardine can.
New York city and New Orleans are GREAT American cities for walking. New Orleans has the most unique culture in the USA 👍
I would say NewYork city has the most unique culture in the USA.
Most unique culture in the USA? I'm from Hawaii and beg to differ. Lol
Not really, the areas such as the French Quarter, Garden District, Marigny, Treme, and Downtown are walkable….but the majority of the city is like Houston, a car city….public transportation used to be reliable before Hurricane Katrina where you’d wait no more than 15 minutes for a bus….not anymore…..but for a tourist, it’s absolutely perfect, your hotel will be walking distance from everything, restaurants, attractions, Riverwalk and it’s mall, ferries, sports events, live theater, a movie theater and mall inside the Westin hotel conventions, museums, parks, bars, a wal mart, even tour buses have pickups that can bring you far out to swamps, plantations etc…..unlike NYC, you won’t need to navigate an unfamiliar public transportation system….there are 3 streetcars lines that take you to anything touristy.
@@frank-xp6pj New York cities culture is a mix off so many cultures, which is why it’s so unique, whereas New Orleans just has such a rich musical culture, same with New York though. I think that New Orleans has more of a unified culture, and not a hodgepodge of different cultures? Idk though I’m from chicago
New York is the best for walking, it’s so compact that walking becomes so much easier than driving
I’m just loving that you went to New Orleans! This video has me hyped up for an interview I have tomorrow for a job in Nola . I’m so ready to be back down there! 😍😍😍
Good luck 😃
I like the architecture and atmosphere of this neighborhood
Laiot Koenigsegg there is a lot of culture and spirit in New Orleans. They have some amazing artists as well.
Love my city so much!!! Their’s no other place like it...Thx u for representing my hometown ⚜️⚜️⚜️⚜️
Best city on the planet 👍🏻👍🏻
1:54- Wow, the band is playing that song, great music.
Cheyenne Moyer every corner just about in Nola lol.
was promised by my brother mitchell tonight that he will be taking me and my sister in law to new orleans this august
this half creole french girl is happy as can be
absolutely loved the video
rachel from queensland australia
*watching this from singapore
Mitchell And Rachel M hopefully its back to normal by August. Stay safe!
The tropical humidity of New Orleans no obstacle to the action kid nor the temptation to party 24 - 7 He has a mission , to showcase the decadent delights of " The Big Easy " !
The French and Spanish architecture of the French Quarter and New Orleans is its true treasure. I myself, prefer the old world appeal of the Garden District as opposed to Bourbon Street.
So many beautiful houses outside of the French quarter.
Old World appeal? But the French Quarter is much older than the Garden District. I think the Garden District is more Victorian era than anything, beautiful nonetheless.
Went to New Orleans with my travel agent colleagues. Love the vibe of the city. Only bad thing...try not to go in the summertime. It was 98° and 120% humidity. I just about was on my hands and knees in that dang heat! Beautiful, vibrant city, though...
Judith Hinton the spring time is beautiful down here if you can handle pollen allergies but the fall is really the best. Weather wise.
you never get used to the heat LOL
Wow, great look at New Orleans! Thanks for sharing this.
You can tell action kid you are in the south because I can hear the sounds!!! Of the crickets and frogs 😄👌
@Digby Dooright that's the south for you 😄
😂⚜️
👍👍👍 I'm really enjoying these new videos from New Orleans. ❤❤❤ Nobody, please do not complain that there is no narration🤣 loving all the ambient sounds👍so rich!
I agree, I Love the fact that there was No narration too....let the viewer's imagination run free
Beautiful, i love the architecture . You are becoming the best video travel guide of YT 👍👍 well done !
Thank you!
It’s truly a city of music
I was waiting for this pls keep making videos im living for it thank you
Really enjoyed this nonarreted video . Only because of the music . My favorite favorite time of day .....
World's only bar theme park.
Just Get There you aren’t lying lol.
0:33 Parking enforcement signs gone wild! Enjoyed the horn players catchy tune in always wild NOLA French qtr.
Such a vibrant and Lively place. 🥃🥁🎸
Good Morning!!!...😃💝💝
Maybe I missed it...Did anyone see a bar called "The Big Bad Wolf"? That's the one I was carried out of 17 years ago. I vaguely remember.
Will they let you back in if they recognize you? 😁
Music everywhere. I love it!
Congratulations you survived my town haha awesome video
I'm glad this city quickly got back on its feet after Hurricane Katrina a few years ago, I've never been there, I started to like the new Orleans after the hard target movie with JCVD
Mr./ Mrs.? ActionKid , I love your channel, it feels like a on-line short vacation, sitting on my butt, in Europe :D Keep up the good work.
was there in 2017... man, I miss that town..
it seems so beautiful view again , well done .
Wow this place looks amazing
It is amazing
Very fun and interesting ! Would love to eat at some of the fresh seafood restaurants and tour the court yards of the homes 🤗
South is beautiful.
Unfortunately hurricane Katrina destroyed black population of New Orleans. Most of low income neighborhoods was demolished and developed for rich. Since then New Orleans is not the same.
It's for the better though. Less crime
@@benmak917 No, it didn’t. I’m born and raised in New Orleans, and black. People have adjusted, but the culture is still strong
New Orleans jazz is both raw and pure. Would love to visit the place one day. I could pack my old trumpet in the hope of blagging my way into a band.
Just bring it, they will invite you in and enjoy having you.
My home sweet home❤
Awesome 😍.
Thank you for your sharing friend
Very nice i can't stop watching your non narrated videos
Never seen Bourbon St that clean.
I think New Orleans is such a beautiful city.
I WISH I could go back. It ties with Orlando as my favorite place to visit in America. The history and the culture cannot be matched.
I NEEDED THIS!!! Had to cancel my last trip to NOLA due to work schedule, then Covid 19's schedule. I am soooo ready to go back...to say I'm jonesing is an understatement! (It's been 3 years & I was going every 6 mos) I could almost smell Bourbon Street...& those who have walked B Street know...the smell is only half the ambiance! So...Thank you!
Also, are you using a camera or gopro or what & what do you use for balancing...this was a very smooth walk & no bounce at all...bravo!!
It's likely the uploader has a mount called a gymbal. You can buy them online at most electronics websites. It suspends the camera or GoPro under a sort of "mechanical swing" to counteract the movement of walking. The result is most of the shakiness is removed. He could also have easily run this through a software program to further smooth out the video.
You are the best the video remain me when I was in New Orleans, Louisiana in 2018 I remember some of does places. 😁
I wish I could travel more. I've been down the center of the U.S. and everything west including Hawaii and Alaska in my youth. But I've never been east.
Haha one of my to visit places I have in mind. Hope to go there sometime next year. Thanks for sharing! And have fun.
When were you in New Orleans i live 2 hours from new Orleans 😁
Very Good!!
You must drink 1 beer in each bar till the end of the street lol.
Lmao you’ll be wasted!!!!
Sounds like such fun
Video at dusk is very nice
From Japan
Thank You for another fine video. I always enjoy your non-narrated videos. Again, excellent work!
You’re welcome 😊
omg action kid is international!!!
who dat??! best city in the world
Looking forward to wandering those same streets Halloween weekend. great video!
Thank you❤❤❤
At 9:47, I think that used to be the Hand Grenade place where Slush is now? Maybe not... Been about 7 or so years since I was there. We stayed at the Sheraton! Thanks for letting me see the street again! Great vids. Did subscribe.
Bourbon St is the Times Square of New Orleans
I would say Canal St is…It’s a central hub area like Times Square…A lot of public transportation connects there and it has lots of restaurants, hotels, attractions (museums, aquarium, riverwalk, mall, movie theater, casino), and foot traffic
So beautiful and interesting walk with lots of good music =)
Nice Video of My City!
Thank you!
I’m missing my home, NOLA.....
I’m part French
It's Da Quarter! Let's have lunch at Galatoire's (on the left at 2:33).
AIn't never been. Now I don't need to. Saved me a lot of money. Thanks!
Thank you for video 👍🗽
Thx ! 👍👍👍
I recently came back from vacation in Nola. Music was great but we did not feel safe at all. The first evening we were there we witnessed a shooting on bourbon street, next day a guy walked into a bar and shot a member of staff. Lots of drugs circulating and people under the Influence trying to scam or rob tourists. We planned where we were gonna visit and then swiftly made our way to our restaurant or hotel at the end of the day to avoid the crazies after dark. Was an experience though!
Yup, it’s definitely an area with a lot of crime too. Stay tuned for an upcoming video!
6:10 Famous Door and 7:35 Fat Catz are the two best places in NOLA to drink and listen to music.
New Orleans bella insegne luminose tipo di una volta dei negozi pulita ristretta ,assomiglia un po' le città italiane , molto bella👍👍👍💛❤️💚
That guy at 8:43 in the video is so typical of how people are on bourbon street. And when you go to new Orleans just make sure to go to french market, and cafe du monde. Both are right around the corner of this video.
I was down in New Orleans one year for Mardi gras!!!!!! Because I live so close to New Orleans 😁
You were probably a little too early or too late in the day to find the better buskers playing Dixieland in the street. What you heard was not all that musical. My favorite group, Tuba Skinny, often plays on Royal at Conti.
Awesome!
0:48 - The bike taxi doesn't have an orange triangle on the back. Isn't that required by law? In my city, they all have the triangles.
Amazing
Thank you!!
Oi nunca pensou em colocar legendas nos teu vídeos pra mim iria ficar melhor 🇧🇷🇧🇷🇧🇷😍👍
thank you
It's a cool place but seems so touristy now
The French Quarter has always been touristy-it's why it exists.
Little fact the man frozen with the dog was not long ago arrested for a murder he did in the 70s
Wow that’s crazy!
Yo 5 at 6:19 you have 2 Mardi Gras Indians from one of the handful of Mardi Gras Indians social clubs of NOLA. IT takes each member a whole year to hand stich their outfits together!!!🎭⚜✌
Dang I want to visit NOLA. Next trip
Come on Down!!
I've never been but my daughter was there the year before Katrina hit. While it was fun and interesting she said it was also seedy. It certainly doesn't look seedy now. Thanks Actionkid.:o)
The seediness depends. Just wait 😉
@@ActionKid Oh yeah, the parts most tourists don't see. We'll wait :o)
@@Tonithenightowl Honestly, despite the dangers, I'm the type who would wander off the "beaten path" just to see parts of New Orleans that most people don't know about.
@@largol33t1 Oh, I think that would be great as well. How safe it is ... I don't know. No doubt safer than the hub of the city.
Please, you need to try to go inside and film everything !
Fun guys live there
i'm getting flash-backs of Elvis in "King Creole"....Craw Fish, Craw Fish
A new orlands sono belli pure i funerali passaggio dalla morte alla nuova vita👍👍👍
When everything in the world calms down, come on back!!!! There is always something to see! Those streets are empty right now.
Those streets are not empty anymore...the bars are open 24/7 again : )
@@Apollo_Blaze I'm glad to hear things are slowly returning to a sense of normalcy. The French Quarter will never die...
wow, can I say that New Orleans has a higher concentration of night life in one area, even higher than NYC?
You sure get around lol
I bet I can tell you where you got your shoes?
On my feet 😉
Action kid is a "g"...lol. He ain't Neva scared
You should come to Atlanta! It’s not the most walkable city but Peachtree street should be fun. Oh, by the way... mind the bums.
Dude at 08:43 is out his mind lol.
Looks like France
Is this street for musicians?
Yup!
And you'll never shout at mice or hear hear the frogs jump on the sheet while there's a moon over Bourbon Street 🎑🎑☺️🌙🌛🌜🌛🌙🌙🌙🚀🚀🎶🎶🎃🎃🎃👻👻👻🎈🎈🎁🎁🏃🏃🏃🏃😂😂🐭🐁🐸🐸🐸🐸
The reason I knew the French quarter like the back of my hand was because when I first arrived in the Port City, the City that Hope Forgot, I made a tactical decision to drink one drink in every bar in the French Quarter: In one night. reallifeheist.com/2012/10/the-dope-feign-shuffle-by-mark-anthony.html
Wow that’s amazing!
How did your kidneys survive that much abuse?!
💪💪💪👍👍👍
Never heard of this NYC neighborhood.
because it's not New York. Right in the title.
@@dohoangquan35 Facepalm.gif
Lol it’s not New York 😂
@@ActionKid ...anyone ever heard about humorism?
@@MsGibbone well your sarcasm is too obvious and not even that funny. But please don't feel offended about this, though.
The most dangerous city in America. Proven fact.
Are there any hotels close by in walking distance to the strip?
Robert Jones The entire French Quarter is walkable. Stay in the French Quarter, Marigny, or Treme neighborhoods if you want to be within walking distance of everything.
Thank you
Yes, there are plenty of hotels here.
@@TheRezone07 Oh, and one more thing, stay in a boutique hotel or a bed and breakfast. I find the experience to be homier and more authentic as opposed to a cold, overpriced hotel in the Quarter. Look in the Marigny neighborhood or Treme.
Watching this and working in the quarter I want to warn you of the scammers. Stay clear and do not make eye contact with them. Shoe tappers, Shoe shine scammers, Any guy with Beads in hand. This is a beautiful city but the scammers are making hard for us hard working people.
How do they scam people?
😁😁😁😍
Most visitors there are very animated.🤣👀
