Underrated and overlooked? How so? He was a massive star. He had a Number 1 hit as early as 1968 in the UK and was performing until 2013. Maybe underrated and overlooked by you?
Joe Cocker always has such passion and emotion. Look at his face: he really feels it.

When the man sings live, he literally looks like he’s having a seizure... you can’t fake that! He’s incredible.
And he makes us feel it as well. Goosebumps over my entire body as soon as the man opens his mouth.

You can leave your hat on. Joe had a great style and VERY overlooked.
It will forever be a stain on the Rock 'n' Roll hall of fame that they never inducted him. I mean, he was at Woodstock! He had a career, of course with ups and downs, that spans a multiple of the time of many other inductees.

I believe Billy Preston was also at 1 time considered the 5th Beatle. He played on some of their albums and did a phenomenal job. If you look at their rooftop concert, you see Billy Preston off to the side playing the keyboard.

I played this for my wife (then my girlfriend) in 1980. She loved hearing me play it for her but time has taken its toll (Parkinson's Disease) and I can no longer play. She is my one and only of 40 years now and will always be. Technology allows me to communicate now, of which I am very thankful. All those who came before me never had the abilities we have today. Be thankful for the time you have with loved ones, for it is only temporary.

A great song written by Billy Preston whose original version was also very good. I had the album it appeared on which is also very good. Billy played piano and organ on lots of songs with the Beatles and appeared on the roof on top of Apple Studios in their final concert. He also appears later in Ringo, George, and Paul live concerts.
You wanna see SOUL look for Joe Cocker. He's got the heat.
