The major issue is that so many people are now riding Scooters, and many of those people ride with impunity. They drive on the sidewalk the wrong way in traffic they run red lights and people have a tendency to get hurt in those conditions.

That nice expensive scooter is going to have a rough ride. I had three scooters all with solid tires because I didn’t want to deal with flats. I found out the hard way that even the solid tires have to be changed at some point. I recently changed the front tire on my nanrobot lightning. What a task!! I’ve never done so much pulling and prying in my life! The main problem is we ride mostly on the right and/or the shoulder so as not to impede traffic. But that’s where all the glass, nails, screws and debris end up.

@@Jman47-s5u He did right, he felt it was not safe for him. The older Laotie LandBreaker scooter throttle was made like that as well, it wants to GO at the slightest pull. (SCARY) not anymore though the new Landbreaker2 has the sinewaves now. easy and smooth acceleration no more JERKING!!
Bro everybody has been getting away from the SQUAREWAVE-controlled scooters, SINEWAVE is the only way to go for TOTAL control. They will deliver that same torque as the squarewave if you pull the throttle immediately but it will still handle like a motorcycle, moped, etc. The more you give it the more it goes, the less you give it the less it goes. Even the E-bikes, and ALL the new scooters come with sinewave controllers for safety. SQUAREWAVES are a thing of the past because they are dangerous.

@@RideWithAnthony Absolutely, companies are trying to unload those kinds of controllers for CHEAP on Alibaba, Alli Express, and almost anywhere because they are obsolete. But if people plan on keeping those older model scooters, they should stock up because they burn up. that's why Dualtron and Kaabos have relocated their controllers so air can help keep them cooled down during high speeds.

People have died in NYC from explosive fires caused by e-scooters and electric bikes with dangerously cheap batteries that explode when vehicles are charging. Everyone pays the price for greed. Don’t blame the government for trying to save lives.
Umm, no. I've worked with procurement. It's the tenants fault. You know how many things plugged in one receptacles? Do you know how many people are using the wrong charger for their scooters or e-bikes? All of them. Because they do deliveries and they want their shit to charge over night fast. So, nyc don't want to take the blame for fires that they already been having since. It's just easier to blame Scooters etc.

Once my Evercross H5 died on me its been like 3yrs I have gotten a new scooter but idk now if I will too many fires and idiots using scooters for the wrong reasons instead of just going out and enjoying a nice ride or making money.
Most of the fires come from people not using the chargers their scooters came with and using faster ones. Another thing is not following the manufacturer's maintenance instructions. Such as unplugging when the charger turns green, charging right after long rides instead of not letting them cool down first, and not storing the battery properly in the off-season in all kinds of temperatures. I have been riding scooters for the past 5 years and have never had any problems and many of mine have 1000's of miles ( All cheaper Chinese Brands) but are WELL BUILT with only a few minor cheap mods like front turn signals installed, air passage through the deck for the controllers for extra cooling ( I never ride in the rain), RGB flashing lights, Bluetooth speakers, and other custom add-ons. Even though some of mine are FAST I ride the correct way as well, never "dogging" any of my machines and respecting the traffic laws and the public. Stay safe and happy riding bro!!

To be extra cautious, I set a timer for 7 hours-so if for some reason the BMS on the charger brick malfunctioned, the timer will still shut the power off. I also turn a fan on all night to keep the scooter and charger cool while charging. I am considering constructing a metal box to keep them in for that “just in case “ or a metal garbage can on its side and just roll the scooter in folded down? What do you think? Overkill?

@@RideWithAnthony Here in Oregon, you can purpose or counter new regulations at a City level by attending a city council meeting. Most cities in most states have them and they are usually county based. Not sure how it works in NY though. Can't be that different, just bigger.

It blew after I just got it back after three rides and it never ran right after picking up the first time!
They refused to warranty their work and milked my repair insurance for over $900 in labor and parts, plus I had to pay over $230 out of pocket in order to get my scooter back.
When I told them they never installed it right the first time they accused me of riding my scooter in the rain or through a puddle or on the beach.
After the 2nd repair attempt and charging an exorbitant amount for two visits to repair the controller, they finally got right!
What a bunch of arrogant, condescending con artists!
