    Where is that place at 1:35.. I'm pretty sure I had fish and chips by the river down there but I can't remember why I was there or where it read.
    I think it was when I went to Brighton maybe.
    Evening rides after a hot summers day are the best and let's face it, summer days here is very limited.

    I don't take enough evening rides myself. There is just something different about riding in the evening air. Like you, I love the architecture around those small towns as well. I just like to imagine the history that has taken place in and around the areas you ride.

    • @HippoDrones
      @HippoDrones  3 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Aye, same with morning rides... crisp air, makes the engines work better... I don't do mornings though, so seldom get to play then! 😀 Hahaha
      In the UK, there is history around every corner... my best mate, who has been visiting from Australia this month, his mum lives in a house possibly built in the 18th centaury, the oldest church in the town is around 800 yrs old too. Quite remarkable.

    • @BigDaveTALKS
      @BigDaveTALKS 3 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@HippoDrones Yup, that’s when we do the majority of our rides, in the early morning before it gets so dern hot. It’s still in the mid 90’s around 16:00 so it’s not really welcoming for a ride 🥵.
      Man that’s cool how the buildings that old have lasted and i’m sure they have been well maintained and repaired though. Just the known/ unknown history in her home is probably quite interesting too.

      @@BigDaveTALKS aye... they semi recently found out they have a cellar under the house, its not a place for tall people. One of the facts I know about her house is that the beams in the ceilings are wood from old ships... so they are possibly 50 years older still!

    I love a good evening ride, always harder to record tho as you know :P That town is super pretty, I d miss having all the old stone places to ride around and look at. That's a beefy amount of wind noise, Suzuki can't seem to sort a stock screen that doesn't attempt to deafen anyone of any height then, interesting. I need to experiment more with mine too.
    I've never understood anyone who walks in to a dealer, sees an utterly bad car and says "Ah yeah I'll have that one" and drops 20k or so on a literal boat anchor has never made any sense whatsoever to me. Just buy a used one for les than half the price ya loons!
    I'm so glad you're loving the Strom. I adore mine. Not been to a bike night yet, but I must go to one!

    • @HippoDrones
      @HippoDrones  3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Yeah... although I tend not to ride once it gets dark though, so the camera can normally cope with just a slightly reduced light level. I think the main reason I don't do more evening rides is just habit... ride bike in day, drink beer and watch YT/Netflix/etc in the evenings.
      I used to really enjoy you showcasing your Ireland to us, I imagine with the USA being so much bigger, it is hard to find stuff like you used to have locally without a days riding.
      Aye, a bit too much for my liking... I have it sorted now though, hopefully next weeks video with confirm! ;-) (it has fixed it, video is sitting in my ready to upload pile) 😀
      Hahaha... terrible cars, I just don't get them... The advantage of them though is that we can spot them a mile off so we know to be cautious riding around them once we are nearer! 😀
      V Strom is AWESOME, although I do miss the nimbleness of the GSX 8S, the V Strom is almost as much a hooligan as it was, and can be very much hustled around the corners even with it's 19" front wheel... which I was MEGA grateful for the other day when I attempted a log crossing at 60+mph while overtaking a lorry... it was not fun, it was not pretty, but the random log in the road did not kill me thankfully and no damage to the bike!
      Yes, yes you should... get new bike fwends 😀

    re the wind over the screen, try a Puig blade on the top. I fitted one to my 650, just tip it vertical in the rain or flat in the really hot weather & it deflects cooler air towards your vents... hope to pick up my RE later this week, maybe the weekend

    Hi Pete,
    yes, evening rides are good. Especially if you are trying to get a new bike run in fairly quickly. Just take it out most nights after work and the miles soon rack up.
    These days though I am usually too knackered after work to contemplate going for a ride. I know that I should because it would almost certainly de-stress me and give me an energy boost.
    Like you said, if you can, you should do it. It has got to beat sitting on the couch getting fatter 😂 If I end up with a third bike, it's something I will have to do more of, otherwise the bikes won't get used enough !
    Cheers Pete. Loving the V Strom. The screen is clearly noisy but we could still hear you well enough at 60 mph, so it's still just about ok for vlogging I reckon !
    Take care mate,
    Garry & Ruby

    • @HippoDrones
      @HippoDrones  3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Aye, every trip gets them one step closer to being run-in 🙂 I know what you mean, I very rarely ride after a day shift at work, just want to go home and chill. Thankfully working shifts I do get a ;lot of time to play bike though 🙂
      I am the king of sitting around getting fatter mate, so yes... we all should get off our behinds and go play bike more!
      Am glad the audio was just about bearable, I know you are quite a perfectionist with your audio, I put a lot less effort/thought into mine, but that was just horrible to listen to... thankfully next vid has it sorted! 🙂

I find that to be excellent. That is slowly getting me back to beer drinking. I can't have alcohol often, due to some health reasons. Funny thing is, I have seen alcohol free gin in the store.
