I feel sad that this didn't cover the thousands of kids they "lost" and are still unaccounted for to this day. It was still a great documentary to watch and i thank you for shedding light on the situation with facts. It is inhumane what is happening to my people and i will continue to pray for each and every one of them.

    • @BruderAdrian
      @BruderAdrian 2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

It's not like that. In the majority of cases; the idea that (organizations/individuals with political motives) are funding migrant caravans or families to cross is something new. Yes there might be organizations today that operate with this goal but they are not these powerful influential organizations. It's also not Cartels; that's not to say there aren't criminals taking advantage of the chaos and forcing people to pose as asylum seekers. However, I can not stress this enough. The overwhelming majority of the people who seek asylum are people who had to flee fearing their lives. SEEKING AND FILING FOR ASYLUM OR REFUGEE SATUS IS FREE. There's no conspiracy of that sorts. Whether or not there are families and or individuals who gather the funds or are sent the funds by their family members in the US to get smuggled in. Is completely different from seeking asylum and considerably more dangerous for children and families to do; as it requires walking hundreds of miles in the dessert and avoid capture. If you look into US asylum, you'll learn that you have to apply on US soil for asylum. You can apply to be a refugee in a foreign country through a US embassy but that's a slightly different process. For example, if someone's threatening your life and you need to leave your home; you go immediately and take what you can. It's not something most people decide they want to do all of a sudden. The sad truth is that along with many other countries the US. Has an asylum program created after WWII for people who are fleeing persecution due to religious beliefs, political beliefs and or being part of a group that's persecuted. For example Cubans are facilitated asylum as they are fleeing a communist regime. The problem is, increasingly people don't want any type of immigration that's not viewed as immigration by "the right type of immigrants." And people fail to understand that seeking asylum is different than illegal immigration as anyone is allowed to apply for it on US soil. Whether it'll be granted or not is a different story as there are quotas for asylum seekers.

Hopefully, under Biden, we'll gain back some respect, but, if a dog bites you once, you're leery of it - no matter how many times it licks you.
And, I pray that in four years, we don't elect Trump again OR his cronies. As a disabled American, I fear it. I'll end up dead, either by my healthcare being taken away, or my food stamps and SSDI being taken and I starve or die from exposure to the elements from becoming homeless. So does that mean all Democrats are racist because why didn't 81 million people vote for Obama. So either Democrats or racists and support racists or they cheated. The whole world knows they cheated. And if you disagree with me that just means you're racist. Trump is not the one that said the n-word twice during the Senate hearing, even though he was quoting someone, that word should have never been said. And why do Democrats all support abortion when 63% of all abortions are black babies even though they're only a quarter of the population and why are 66% of all planned parenthoods located right inside the black communities. Trump's family wasn't verified to have owned slaves but biden's Father's side owned and traded slaves and the documents are all available online and a few media reported on it. But you're flat out wrong America chose Trump and they cheated to win. and we were lucky just to see that four giant cases of ballots were snuck out from underneath the table in Georgia. They are flying to Mexico from Afghanistan and Africa from the middle east like Syria, Libya, Tunisia. All claim refugee status and file for asylum and very few qualify. Most don't even show up for court, so an immediate deportation decree is made public. The next official contact and this person is detained and shipped out on the next plane south. This is a half truth.
Problem is your right and wrong.
Right in that it is wrong to say the US is all at fault. Many of the issues in those countries are the result of corrupt governments or internal strife.
On the other hand, the US government is responsible for much of the economic and political turmoil of the American countries due to a century of exploitation and desire to retain a cheap export market from those countries. Its why food is usually cheap in your markets. So its partially the US fault.
So yes the US is partially responsible for many of the issues going on that results in parents sending children to the US for a better life or to connect with families. Not all. Many of these countries are stuck in a endless loop of violence, political infighting, dictatorships, corruption, exploitation of some form or another. A few had even tried to go straight or reign in the mess but if they made any issues that would disrupt trade or worry the us of foreign intervention from other countries or political influences the US would get involved, especially during the cold war when the fear of communism was a real possibility. Its easier to have a puppet or a dictator under US guidance.
Others is from a history of colonial influence from Spain, and Portugal who made sure these countries didn't have the capability of true self governance. A few managed to break that and succeeded others barely have kept somewhat stable governments that occasionally tends to cycle through a number of leaders, interaction with the US actually creating a better situation or worse depending.
In either case the US is a major influencer on these nations and the next couple of decades will determine if the Modern US will try to work together with its neighbors in the America's as a partner and not just being the largest dog on the block.
Indeed Its likely that Canda, The United States, Mexico, and Brazil will likely lead the first steps in creating a major economic zone for the America's and that finally both continents might finally bring about some humanitarian and political help for those in need.

California, and some others however have started ensuring that history both good and bad are shown correctly so children and some adults can truly understand how the nation interacts and can have both negative and positive effects on others and how they should learn how to start repairing the damage.
The reality is you gotta understand some American's have been absolutely brainwashed on the idea of the long dead American manifest destiny concept that the US itself even stopped due to old school hold outs that cannot accept that the world is changing to one that is fundamentally different socially and politically.

@@melissat8803 - American minor children have always traveled across borders. Just because they choose to travel across America's Southern border does not automatically make the family homeless, drug addicted, or some sort of of low life. As with any of our other borders, we want our border control personnel to be moving children safely through from one check point to the next as it becomes possible. We don't expect border control to house children in cages like Chihuahuas or put them on leashes. Basic humane treatment dictates that when and if something were to go wrong for a child, you would put yourself in the place of that child. You would make certain that the child had a valid destination, was not being used for child trafficking, and expedite them on their personal trip. Trump was a New Yorker and had no difficulty spreading the propaganda that our Southern border was 100% nasty. This is one of the few documentaries that actually tells the story accurately.
The welfare and well-being of a child supersedes the enforcement of ANY law. Every mentally stable human being knows the difference between right and wrong. Taking a child away from their parents is always going to cause mental anguish for the child and the parent. The younger the child the more traumatizing and life shattering it is. The damage that was done to their psychological development will be with them their entire lives.
Adopting them out to some wealthy American family that gives them everything they could ever want won't fix the damage caused by separating them from their parent. We have created 5,000 plus mentally traumatized children, many of whom will suffer several, more years of the abuse, neglect, and sexual assault that we know is happening inside these shelters.
They will now have zero chance of becoming happy, confident, and productive adult members of society. So what now? What did we Americans gain by doing this? These are the kind of questions an informed public should be demanding answers for. We should know where the children are and what is happening to them. The media should be allowed to film inside these facilities. To keep a government of the people and by the people requires the people to know what is going on. Instead, the government has blocked the media from entering the facilities holding the children and has actually taken steps to keep the public and the press from knowing where these facilities are or what is happening to these young children. When you are secure in your belief that your actions are/were morally sound and aligned with your values then you have no reason to fear public scrutiny.
Case in point. I live just north of the US/Mexico border in one of the most treacherous parts of the desert. If you do not have shelter and adequate supply of water here you will die within a matter of days, period. That is just a physical reality. The human body cannot physically withstand the environment in my location without some degree of support. Dehydration is a horrific and agonizingly painful way to die. Women and young children become dehydrated and begin to suffer the excruciating pain that accompanies it quicker than men do. Thousands of human remains are collected from the desert surrounding my home every year, a lot of them are young women who died of dehydration.
Because of this reality, there are groups of people here who set up water tank stations in the most frequented areas and there is a huge network of volunteers who take turns hiking out into the more remote areas every weekend to leave stockpiles of full water jugs in the areas where bodies are most often found. What they are doing is illegal. Every single one of them know that it is against the law, and they proudly and unashamedly do it anyway. They don't make any attempt to hide their activity, they want the public to know every detail of what is going on. They welcome public scrutiny and debate because they are absolutely secure in the moral correctness of their actions and the immorality of the law that prohibits them.
I don't know anyone down here who hasn't had migrants show up on their property at some point or another asking for water and everyone I know (including the gruff conservative ranchers) has happily given them as much as they can drink. That is also illegal. People do it anyway (again, even the Republicans), because when you are face to face with human suffering a moral human being does whatever they can to ease that suffering and preserve life, they do not inflict more suffering. This Republican administration caused immense suffering to thousands of children and parents who came to us for help. The Christian mission to "save" the children would be a lot more effective if they quit supporting the party whose policy just created 5000 more abuse victims.

@@yguy21 Adopting these children is not going to "fix" anything. They are not orphans. They are not in need of parents. They have perfectly good parents who love them just as much as we love our children. They need to be with their own parents. That is the only option that will make this situation better but honestly the damage is done now. There is no fixing what was done. That is why this policy was so incredibly irresponsible an inexcusable. We stole these children from their parents, we do not fix that sin by giving the children to strangers. We solve it by giving them back to their parents. Their parents were not criminals. Entering the country to seek asylum is not illegal.

What makes me livid is that damn Sarah Huckabee who quoted the Bible about God telling people they have to obey the law without question! God's ways are way above any law made by man. If those laws are not made according to God's standards, which INCLUDE love and compassion for the least of us, they are evil laws. The Bible itself tells us to welcome the foreigner and treat him or her with kindness. Jesus tells us to love God and our neighbors in the same manner that we love ourselves. That includes everyone. No matter what our broken immigration system dictates, Trump has taken that off the charts by his illicit disregard for love and compassion for our fellow man. Laws must be fair and for those who flee horrible conditions in their home countries. Asylum seekers MUST be granted asylum, not be accused of being criminals and treated like criminals. Only a tiny percentage of them are criminals. Most are only looking for a safe place to build a good life and should be welcomed here with open arms with a quick and inexpensive path toward citizenship.

I'm not even an American but I feel that American citizens are being used to destabilise the presidential term of an ordinary albeit rich citizen. The establishment got spooked in 2016 so much so that their main focus has been Trump and sadly not working with him to achieve a great Union of States. Granted he is unconventional but at least he is honest. You know what you are getting. Career politicians are never open about their agendas and I see that decades of subtle indoctrination are bearing fruits. Particularly amongst liberals. I'm black by the way from an African country and it's true that you have some shit hole countries this side as Trump once said, it's sad to see how black people are used there and being categorised in bulk always ready to vote one way.
It's just a one party state shrouded by the guise of "freedom" which I think the US government has slowly eroded from the vision of the founding fathers. 2 parties keeping only themselves in power no checks and balances so long as there is no disturbance of the system.

So as US Citizens we get charged and our children get taken from us sometimes for no good reason all because the incompetent CPS Worker says so, but people want to have a fit when people break the law and cross the borders illegally and they take their children. Seeking asylum because your family is in danger I totally understand that, but just coming over here because they want a different lifestyle or to take advantage of a system is not ok. These people pay these smugglers a good amount of money. I say just do it the legal way.

How Illegal Immigration Costs US Tax Payers
The Obvious: Police response to 911 calls and software upgrades do to overloaded system, police communications personnel who dispatch and screen radio calls and a multitude of computer specialists to handle system issues, processing arrestees, police records recording, DUI arrests arrests, processing arrestees, city jail housing. Detectective investigations. Juvenile arrests. County jail housing after city arrest, meals, licensed M.D. medical services in jail, medications.
The adult criminal court system: uniformed police overtime for court, court clerk/paper work. Liason personnel between the court and police/requests by both the defense and prosecution for officers to respond again to court.
    - The juvenile Court system-same costs and amount of personnel.
Emergency Hospital Services for DUI traffic collisions, stabbings, shootings, and general basic medical services because illegals don’t have insurance. Illegals getting heart transplants, liver transplants, childrens hospital E.R. and organ transplants all paid for by the USA tax payer.
Fire Department response to fires, stabbings, shootings, domestic violence, victim transportation to the E.R..
Animal Services/Dog Pound. Dogs as pets and for home protection they get low cost inoculations, neuters, spays, dog catcher, dog bite investigations, dog fighting and cock fighting investigations.
Not So Obvious: Parks and Recreation-grass field care due to use and over use of grass fields from soccer, water and electric. Garbage left on the ground. Street sweeping as low income areas have so much illegal dumping.
Low Cost Electric. Look at your bill.
Low Cost water. Look at your bill.
Low Cost Phone/Cell phone. Look at your bill.
Low Income Housing/Section 8. Housing police.
Border Patrol, helicopter response, arrestee station paper processing, federal court and federal court paper processing, court time.
    INS interviews, deportation hearings .
In 1989, The Los Angeles Police detectives from all over the city, gave a televised press conference. During the conference they pleaded with politicians to "stop the revolving door at the southern border" as illegal criminals who had been arrested, convicted, and served their time in USA prisons for violent felony convictions, were deported, and returned to the USA, up to three and four times.
Because city officials did not believe what the detectives were saying. City officials provided the Rampart Division with a red stamp pad and a stamp indicating "Illegal." Arresting officers were to conduct a "one month survey". After an arrest, officers were required to ask the arrestee, if they were in the USA legally or illegally. If the arrestee said yes/they were illegally in the country; we were to place the red stamp on the first page of the arrest report. After "two weeks" the survey was discontinued. As I worked a shift that began at 6pm and ended at 3am, I was able to see all arrest report from all the other shifts. During this period, rock cocaine use and drug wars were at their peak. All shifts worked overtime.
During the United States recession and bank collapse from March to November 2001, the Valley and Hollywood Areas of Los Angeles were threatening succession; because crime was so high and their areas did not have police numbers that coincided with their population. There were a multitude of foreclosures throughout Los Angeles County. As banks were loosing money on foreclosed mortgages, the county and city of Los Angeles exported their legal and illegal criminals to the outer Los Angeles county and incorporated city areas.
This issue affects all races living LEGALLY in the United States of America. The number of "affordable safe cities" for our children to start their adult life is diminishing.
What is my race you ask? Born USA citizen, Mexican, Irish, Finish, English, Italian descent. The ultimate MUTT.
Are you upset at my political correctness? Tough Shit.
    Semper Fi, Thin Blue Line.

They didn’t separate kids from parents. They separated kids from people posing as the parents. Some people aren’t relatives to these children the government has to hold the children while they do a background on the people posing as the parents. Over 65% of the “parents” were found out to be trafficking domestic workers, were involved with drug cartel, was a illegal immigrant themselves, and wasn’t even a blood relative at all. So it’s only right to keep the children until investigation serves that the child is indeed placed with an actual law abiding citizen. If they didn’t do this it would be countless blame on the government of “why would they release these children to people who were criminals or who wasn’t a relative.”
