John was being a bit general - not only did Joan pass the examinations, she became a CHARTERED Physio - she helped my brother get over a bout of wankers cramp, he is grateful to this day; it also gave him the confidence to apply for an audition for an Utterly Butterly commercial. So hats off to Joan
Just been to Shrewsbury to see him tonight. Comic genius, so clever, like you say most over everyone’s head. Funniest night I’ve had for ages . Quality.
@@AVFC1982 He’s fantastic isn’t he! I think it’s almost like an Alan Bennet soliloquy. It’s a little more gentle/subtle comedy than say Steve Coogan was with AP or Paul and Pauline Calf, but some of the stuff you hear on the radio shows are sublime!
I remember when John was on Radio 4 and phoned up the Norwegian Embassay in London to ask if they'd like to have 'Pigeons in Flight' as their entry for the Eurovision Song Contest that year.
At last! A video on youtube that some yank hasn't come along and posted trash-talk underneath! As Yorkshire as David Hockney and Alan Bennett - start a hall of fame now!
We really could of done with John having a go at a song for europe, I mean Ireland had that dustin the turkey and those eastern european countries put out loads of weird stuff that get through. I'd of voted anyway :D
Iv got pet pigeon and I allways think of that there song cos its nice isn't it, I said to Jeff jst yesterday ,remember that their song Mr shuttle used to do bout pigeons and that ,he said ye I remember that like yester .Pity all that fame went t head thou he went lot bought brand Austin embassitor jst t rub it in .he were never a proper scab him .but nice bloke all the same. but his wife and manager were having a affair see but poor John couldn't see it .and nobody had the heart to tell him.
2 margarines on the go ? It's a nightmare scenario.

British ingenuity at its finest, thank you John for making life more interesting, pidg pigeon pidg pidg pigeon.
When this video ended I cried all the way to the chip shop.
John Shuttleworth is a legend! You can't be depressed after hearing one of his songs.
Ken Worthington must be pleased. This is a Legend. When was the last time he appeared live. i'm from 2023 btw. Thanks!
The only one who really got a 'sound' out of a Yamaha PSS-780.
Well done Joan Chitty for becoming a qualified physiotherapist

Congratulations Joan!

"have a little dagger and come at the audience" he's a genius!
John Shuttleworth is a legend! Every time I see a Hansel and Gretel chalet I think of him!
Very very clever songwriter is Graham Fellowes and he writes some mean melodies too. Absolutely love the guy.
John Shuttleworth should be given an honorary doctorate from Sheffield Hallam and a philosophy lectureship for one year.
ah man no matter how many times i hear him i cry with laughter- hes a genius
He would make an excellent school teacher.
"He did come last, but it was definitely him" LOL
It did indeed go round and round in my head for years :)
"Pigeons in flight, I wanna see you tonight!" Catchy & brilliant.
I won't be able to sleep tonight. That was too hooky, too catchy. :)
Absolutely brilliant .. The artistic lyrics made me cry

It's a subtle northern humour and i think the audience are from London. 😆
Pure talent, what an original funny man , Sheffield Rules.
Saw him live once. Had a mid show banana

Would have been a great double act, John shuttleworth and Frank sidebottom. Genius's both!
Johns a absolute legend in Huddersfield.
Love to see you play with Gary Barlow John, think that would be great!!
Makes it look easy, but makes something quite good look bad, and still be accepted. I thought this was a bit later than 1993.
loved it when he came to Portsmouth!
A comedy genius!!!!!!!! All hail the Shuttleworth!!!!!!!!
Still makes me cry
At last! A video on youtube that some yank hasn't come along and posted trash-talk underneath!
As Yorkshire as David Hockney and Alan Bennett - start a hall of fame now!
The lyrics require no further honing.
I have a John Shuttleworth tea towel
Ded jeal!
Refers to the time Ross & Brand made inappropriate on-air phone calls to Andrew Sachs (Manuel).
David O Doherty took the flame as the most tedious musical comedy act in the UK from this guy, and I am grateful, somehow
Oooph Ken! You can't do that, theres a housepipe ban!
He wrote and sang... Gordon Is A Moron. A big hit.
well I was looking up dead websites, and bubble gun came up and they had an article on this guy making a eurovision song. pretty funny guy
Cliff on a bike!! I`m having a major flashback here, Hoh!
First class confectionery!
Priceless!

John Shuttleworth’s jacket is LESS ridiculous than Jonathan’s.
My first dance at my wedding.
Love it!
Preferred his Jilted John persona "Gordon is a moron!!"
You can tell Graham Fellows is an aficionado of Frank Sidebottom.
?
Graham Fellows is John Shuttleworth. Graham was one of Frank's roadies, so knew him quite well.
thank you that's interesting!
Ah, Frank Side bottom. Another genius.
You never can see pigeons in flight at night. He s the king of the trivial men. 😀
A true showman

Damned good Idea MrHanbo I like your thinking
Great comic timing

Absolutely Brilliant.

Look at the early '90's TV hipsters....
We really could of done with John having a go at a song for europe, I mean Ireland had that dustin the turkey and those eastern european countries put out loads of weird stuff that get through. I'd of voted anyway :D
Absolute f@cking legend.
@jeffiegirl 1.26 - 'Mr & Mrs Whitaker, they love that one and she's a lab technician, it's just a question of taste, i'n't it?!'
Hah! Classic!
I suppose Osvod favours a snowboard nowadays. Very vexing to the skiing community.
Hansel and Gretel chalet? A man can stand up in one fully erect. Stop that, Ken.
TVs clarinet man!
I love the bloke but I hope Jack Duckworth gets royalties. He even sings like him!
Tommy Cockles before he was Tommy Cockles! Brilliantly original comic.
