  • Hey TH-cam Fam, I hope you are all doing well.
    I purchased this FTX carnage and upgraded it to a brushless system.
    It did have a brushed motor in it , but it only lasted 10 minutes , so the upgrade was needed.

    Very nice man!🤙
    It's got some speed and pick-up, try for your first 💯kph car🤔
    And you don't know how write you are with that grease, it just sticks to the walls of the diff from the centrifical force unless you fill it completely, but diff oil even 1,000,000w was designed to runs over the gears continuously, never sticks and stays in the one spot👌

    • @angesrcs
      @angesrcs  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yeah I think I might make this my speed car. I’m pretty impressed on how fast it actually goes with this motor set up. Plus I still have that bigger pinion gear I can put on , but I don’t want to stress out the motor too much or I’ll just get a bigger motor. And yeah 100% about that diff oil that’s for sure . I thought I’d get onto it straight away. But still spewin about that chipped tooth on the spur gear.😩😩

    • @rccrazy
      @rccrazy 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@angesrcs Yeah I personally I would run that motor with max 18t pinion, if it was 3670 3500kv I'd run like 24t max on 3s.
      And I wouldn't worry too much about the chipped tooth, my HSP Breaker is running with chipped teeth, has for ages!
      👌👍

    I did this to my Carnage. I used the same kit but I chose the 5200kv motor. Its really good, but its killing spur gears. I've ordered new gears but im getting the 48pitch conversion gears so I can use all my spare 48 pitch pinions. If that fails I will change to the stainless steel spur gear thats on ebay. I gotta say with the 5200kv motor the thing is nuts. I had to go for a Dumborc controller and reciever with a gyro to keep it straight.

    Cool run man👍 I have the VRX Sword XXX it's the same thing as the Carnage but mine has a aluminum chassis and a truggy style wing just like the one on your VRX Cobra :) Liked and Subbed

      Cheers, thanks for watching and the sub. 👍🏼. Yeah the VRX sword is a nice car to drive. Would be nice if I had a alluminium chassis. But I’ll stick to plastic for now

    Nice dude. I'm ordering new parts for mine. I landed wrong on a ramp and the front part of my chassis broke. Gonna order an aluminium one next time it breaks. Hopefully I'll have my new motor by then

    • @angesrcs
      @angesrcs  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yeah it’s best to get the aluminium upgrade front chassis. Also try and make a support bracket also like I have in the cobra. It will help when landing on the nose. And also see if you can order a front bumper. That will help out heaps. A 4000 KV motor would be more than enough for this little car because it’s super light

    Does the KV really matter if you’re able to change pinions? I got a s3650 3500KV brushless-sensorless. It runs 60 plus mph all day long on a tt02 chassis running 2s lipo.

    • @angesrcs
      @angesrcs  10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      You can I’m not arguing that you can’t. But you need to put a few factors in is that surprisingly it runs all day but how is the temperature? The bigger the pinion the more hotter the motor will get so it’s better to lower the KV. If you were to run 3S I would recommend getting a 3660 motor with the same KV rating.

    I hear you say you used a drop of silicone to seal it in. Does that mean it’s just stuck down. Looking to up grade to an aluminium chassis

    • @angesrcs
      @angesrcs  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes. I just used a drop of silicone on the surface just to hold it down. I tried a few double sided tape products. But found they just keep on coming off. So the silicone was the best. Just need a drop, about the size of a pea.

    Need some help please, iam new to RC cars.
    I have a brushless ftx carnage and my son tried to connect the charging cable from the battery into the visible ports of the receiver (etronix pulse 3 channel receiver). Channel 1 and 2 is used. From what I can see channel 3 which is still available is where he's tried to connect. Silly thing, it wasn't starting so he saw what looked like a male and female connection and tried connecting. There was a spark and some smoke. What has he fried? The receiver? I just bought a new battery but still not working. Appreciate any advice

    • @angesrcs
      @angesrcs  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yeah sounds like you shorted out the receiver. I’m still trying to understand. How did you plug the wires in from the charger directly into the receiver how was that possible? Looks like you will need to buy a new receiver.

    • @ehsanhaidary9766
      @ehsanhaidary9766 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hard to explain without the ability to post a pic. He has tried to connect the charging cable from the battery to the receiver. I've since learnt that this part of the receiver is for binding a new remote or receiver. There was a spark and smoke coming out of receiver
