You're welcome -- a properly fitting bike is really important for me. I did not discover this mod, other than to find a very thorough written description on a forum, execute the install and pass it on in video format.
I disagree about a previous comment noting that it would have been better to get an RT. The styling on the RT is completely different to this, and sadly, it looks its age. This, on the other hand has classic lines, and will retain its looks long into the future.
I am using an r1150r and i had gs and RT. This current ride is 23 years old and i have to say she is very elegant in her dress!!! but it's all personal
I'm back...the next "problem" is the center stand. It ends up hanging a couple of inches lower than where it should be because the left side is hard against the left foot peg bracket. I'm researching a GS center stand but I'm doubtful because of different tire size on GS....(the GS is higher off the ground)
mike page, any updates? I'm looking into doing this exact same mod to a recent purchase of this exact bike, same model and same year. Thanks in advance.
Not exactly as described. You also need the lever that attaches to the transmission output shaft. It is a different configuration than the stock lever that will not attach to the shift lever. A little hard to find but you need the GS transmission lever to set up the lower pegs.
Sorry Wide-Glide, I missed your request earlier. The GS mounts fit directly on the R frame, and if you get the complete set-up (shift linkage, brake linkage) iit is simply a matter of bolting the mounts & pegs on, transferring the R rear master cylinder over to the GS mount and carefully bending the R rear brake lline to terminate at the new m/c location.
Coincidence! I was looking to buy a FJ-09 and ran across a really great deal on a 2004 R1150R ABS, so got that instead. I'm curious about your thoughts between the two. I was a Yamaha triple owner in the 70's & 80's. Loved it.
Хорошего Вам вождения, Вы молодцы!!!! У меня такой же мотоцикл, привет из РОССИИ!!!
Thank you. It is good to hear from Russia. Enjoy your R1150R!
Brilliant video, many thanks and regards from the UK.
Bill thanks for the info about the foot pegs.🙏🏽

Что буровит ,хоть бы кто переводил .
Anyway I could get the info on how you put the GS pegs on your R1150R?

Super video. I just came across the same model bike for sale near me, decided to research and came across your video. Are you still enjoying the bike?
No, it's a great bike, but I sold it and bought a Yamaha FJ-09.

Own and love my 04 dual spark R. The most balanced bike I've ever ridden, incredible and you can do some dirt with some lug tires too.
Just Plain BORING
