A simple and elegant jig ... speeding up the marking out of a dovetail joint (less lines) and ensuring accurate cutting of the joint at the same time ... the use of the magnets and acrylic to both position and aid in the smooth flow of the saw is genius ... brilliant (as usual) 👍

@@carpentak You have given us so many fantastic jigs that it is us who should be thanking you, not the other way around ... I should also mention that I feel that the quality of your videos is superb, giving clear and concise guidance on both how to create and how to use your jigs ... just superb all round 👍

That looked simple, but I bet it took some working out. Great little gadget to make our woodworking experiences go smoother, not to mention fault free, providing you check twice before you cut!

This gives equal conditions to both left- and right-handers. The other side uses clamps.

What is the name of the device used as a guide to make the cuts?
The one with a P and a T on it?
Does anyone know how to do it?

    • @carpentak

p refers to pinboard and T refers to tailboard. This is a dovetail saw guide.

No shame in using these handy saw guides considering that it took skill to make one!! Anyway, it’s smart to do whatever gives the best results…….
