Try out this traditional Temple style Puliyogare which has a fabulous flavour of native spices. This puliyogare is a famous South Indian rice dish having wonderful traditional spicy, tangy and mild sweet taste. Puliyogare is truelly a mouthwatering dish often served in breakfast or as prasad in temples.

Tamarind pulp:
50 grams seedless tamarind
1 cup water
Spicemix:
2 tsp sesame oil
1 tsp chana dal/ split chickpeas lentils
1 tsp urad dal/ black gram dal
½ tsp fenugreek seeds
1 tsp mustard seeds
6 whole dried red chillies
2 tbsp coriander seeds
2 tbsp sesame seeds
2 tbsp ground dry coconut
For puliyogare:
4 cups cooked and cooled rice
3 tbsp/ ¼th cup sesame oil
1 tbsp chana dal/ split chickpeas lentils
¼th cup peanuts
1 tsp urad dal/ black gram dal
1 tsp cumin seeds
1 tsp mustard seeds
2 green chillies
2 dried red chillies
Few curry leaves
2 tbsp chopped jaggery
¼th tsp asafoetida/ hing
Salt to taste
½ tsp turmeric powder
2 tbsp chopped coriander leaves

Please don't add Cilantro leaves (coriander leaves) to the Puliyogare instead add generous amount of curry leaves it would give a best taste to Puliyogare.
